Nice friendly looking ol boy.....thats a cracking picture....aint it always the way that someone has to stick their finger across the lens !!Cheers Gnash! He was friendly to everybody he met, when he passed away there was probably two hundred people or more in and around the chapel at the funeral. He was known all around the county from a lifetime working on the refineries and other industrial sites and from connection with the local rugby club. When we was kids, he used to take us all to mini rugby and pick other lads up on the way. God knows how many of us used to pile into the little Metro

a neighbours son is downs syndrome -- he aways cheers me up if i`m out on my drive he comes for a chat --- summot wrong with your kettle kid when i got a bigger van i had to take my gate post out he said no good without a gate --- you cant keep the burglers out -- i`ve always got time for him ... My sister in laws brother, Lee, is autistic, quite severe, he's the same age as me and similar to what you lads are saying we've got a real close bond... He'll talk to me for ages about football ( that's his love) and he has a real knowledge of the game, rembering results, players etc.. My brother a

Good stories lads and lasses.... Surprising how much Grandparents play such a role in People's lives... I'm glad my kids have a lot of time with their grandparents, I've got to hand it to my parents they are great grandparents, they don't spoil them with money but spend loads of time with them... I never knew one set of Grandparents, but enjoyed getting to know my dads dad in later years. He was back in Ireland and had lived a life of excess, he was still poaching salmon at 70 and done time for it rather than pay his fines lol.. He was mad, the first time I met him properly I was about 14, he

Dave My dads best friend/labourer and a constant in our house, during my funny childhood he was my weekend escape... From about 6 years old as soon as I arrived back for the weekend I'd be with Dave, he took me nesting, fishing, ferreting, lamping any out door pursuit... They only thing I couldn't go on was his and Ivor's nighttime salmon poaching sessions ( too dangerous for a kid lol) but I'd regularly go poaching rabbits and hares at night. He never had any money as such but he gave me, what I think is the biggest thing, time, lots of it... He sadly passed away far too young Both my p

I'm not sure about moaning over being 15 points clear... But no one likes to lose to their closest rivals.... I would've took a boring 0-0 lol

I would say Rooney developed a lot earlier than Ronaldo, Ronaldo was not the player he is now in his first couple of seasons at UTD.. Rooney came in with a bang ( a hat trick in the champions league debut), Rooney was a very strong and complete player at 20 years old, Ronaldo was still a bit light weight... Ronaldo is now a completely different animal, he is the compete player IMO... If Ronaldo came back a fluid front 3 of him, Rvp and Rooney would be a handful for any team.. Rooney will naturally play deeper and help defending,

What happened 5 years ago, did you sell the boot? They must've been weird looking boots.....
-
I agree Rooney has not looked on top form of late, but to say he's the most over rated player ever is a bit much He's scored 141 goals for UTD and 35 for England that's not bad stats for a 27 year old.... Infact very few finish their career with better stats.... I wouldn't be surprised if he went but if Ronaldo comes ( the rumours keep going), that could be the kick up the ass he needs, together they were brilliant for a few seasons IMO.. Last nights game means little ( hopefully) in the title but annoyingly gives city a bit of bragging rights... Great goal from Aguero

What a shame if we have to enforce new rules ( 1 point for 3 goals, none for a draw etc) just to get footballers to play.. The way the game is played shouldn't be affected by money or anything else... I understand you'd be pissed off spending a load to go and watch a boring 0-0, but that's football it happens.... Then you look at Keegans Newcastle from years back, every game seemed to be a thriller but it cost them in the end.... I'm not condoning a boring way of football, I love end to end games as much as anyone... Just sometimes it doesn't go like that

I only saw the highlights but I see what you West Ham fans are saying.. At some clubs you become accustomed to a certain way of playing and as fans you don't want to see a change to the old clubs ethos.. There's a lot sides over the years even as an opposing fan you enjoy watching, I would say West Ham are one of them. I've never been convinced big Sam is the right manager for a club like West Ham, his style of play is never going to please the fans... But as everyone knows football is driven by money more than ever now the cost of relegation far out ways pretty football, which is a shame..

That's it in a nutshell Johnny.... I can't believe any normal thinking person would come out with they're shit...

4 months 7 years and i still haven`t started  Haha, I'm not one for finishing things I think every room needs something done to finish it off, I don't notice, the wife does lol It did annoy her a bit that the new ferret court was built and finished first lol... Oh and the ratting was crap this morning, we done 3 small water treatment works and ended up on a chicken farm for 6 rats, I got blisters from pulling the smoker ( cut back chain saw). Went with Sean C off of here and he was going to do a video ( like the ferreting ones) I think he got the first rat on vid then gave up lo

Just come back from a mornings ratting, that's enough to keep the dogs ticking a long, I love ferreting/ lamping but I'm not a professional pest controller it's my hobby like 90% of the people on here ( I guess), I keep the farmers happy enough, let them know what we've had each outing.... Nows the time to let them breed, its time to go fishing, a bit of ratting and finishing this little extension I've been nagged about for the last 4 months lol..

Come on now, Lara ..... Enquiring minds ..... It's made it onto Wikipedia It started in the early 1920's I think - hairy hands would grab steering wheels, handle bars, bridle reins etc and force you off the road, and scare you into running across the moor to your death.... Bear in mind that at the time, not one of the group of us had seen a building taller than the 4 storey Debenhams in Exeter, and " awlll roight moi lubber " was an acceptable greeting .... got to love Devon !Still scare the kids with The Hairy Hand now, was driving on the edge of Dartmoor a few months back, it w

Either the Richardson's or the Krays I think Tomo. It definitely wasn't Dave Courtney, he's only a blagger when it comes to compass thievery lol

We used to have great laugh with bows and arrows! Every now and again the estate where I lived was like it was full of red Indians with arrows flying everywhere! One of the best ones I made was from one of my old man's chimney cleaning rods out the shed, he weren't pleased when he came home and found out! My youngest brother broke his arm as a kid, falling off a rope swing that went out over a bank that some of the older kids made up the park. My old man climbed up the tree and took the rope, but The following morning it was back! That happened a few times, and in the end my dad got pissed o

Great story Bosun

we called them french arrows, 6" nail and a cane and some string feck could they fly we used to nick the school dinner knives and grind the handle sharp and to a point and play chicken with those too, then we;d go on the gollies across the road and get the squirrels theres still to this day dinner knives stuck in the trees we used to play chicken on the diesel line, we'd take the stones out from between the sleepers and get in and let the train go over us, we always played on the railway as kids i'd strangle my lad if he went anywhere near one Those arrows were brilliant, me and my br

My old man made me a bow and arrows one day, it was a cracker, tensioned bamboo bow with twine, and arrows made from those thin garden sticks, with a little lead wire a couple of inches from the tip and flights... I was told in no uncertain terms " do not fire it at anyone" " no Dad" ... An 8 year old set loose with a weapon lol, over the garden fence I spot my next door neighbour, he was the same age as me and a perfect target.... My one and only shot with that bow and arrow hit it's intended target in the back, the following scream brought both my dad and his mum running out of the houses..

" my bulls harder than yours" " if it ain't got saluki in it it's useless" " my rope swings better than yours" lol Lol, maybe we should leave it to Darcy....

Oh I dont know matey, now as an adult I detest London with a passion, but looking back I dont think I would want to miss growing up round some of the places and characters. I could tell you about times of having fights with spades who were carrying knives and fully intent on using them, but just the same I can remeber going to Roman Road market, Deptford Market......my pop knew all the traders and they would keep giving me fruit and I would come home covered in juice and my mother would do her nut. Or, my old mans pal taking me up the west end when I was 10 after a big win in the casin

I also tend to walk early morning or late evening/ night and I'm not one for going around the park.. This weekend showed why, a stroll with the family went wrong... I think the thing I couldn't get my head around is once her dog had locked on she was more than clueless, and when I was separating them she was more concerned that her dog was being choked than the fact her dog was biting a lump out of mine... Most of us on here work our dogs so have permission to walk them on, but a lot of your pet dog owners will be walking around the local park with the odd out of control dog running wild..
