    Dave, if the lads who went weren't decent, we would have been taken for nearly 19k... we would have seen f**k all once all the creditors were payed... we've taken a little knock still, but he came and saw me last week and he was gutted, probably 15 blokes lost there jobs plus all the subbies they had going....     Personally mate I don't think you see it, the bloke will know if he has to pay or not and no contract doesn't give you much chance... if your on the books you incur a certain amount of holiday days as you work..you'd probably spend more on trying to prove your owed it... A late night visit would probably be the only chance, but could cost you a lot more than 500 quid...

    Malt, we finished an extension onto a privately owned shopping precinct about 3 months ago, a real b*****d of a job, with one valley gutter having to be weathered against a glazed walkway, now this area would not stop leaking... we've filled the gutter, no leaks, changed the flashings and water tested no leaks, but every time it rained it would f*****g leak... so we've had our last payment stopped + they've got retention, it's a fair chunk of money, considering we put the steel frame up and an aluminium roof on top...     A friend of mine had to put his company into administration this week, because of a couple of wankers... we do a fair bit of work for them, as they are a decent building firm with a good history, 2 jobs took them after 10 years of building the firm up, they had stacks of work infront of them as well..... the main reason is a c**ts trick, just not paying and playing the law ( it helps when your a lawyer) until you strangle the company... We could have been badly hurt by this ourselves but these lads are old school and I'll be forever grateful.. Leaves a bitter taste in your mouth though,

    I've heard the same Mal, I can only speak as I find, the lads I worked alongside in Bracknell 3 or 4 years back worked their bollocks off, I wouldn't say they were skilled as such but for the job they had to do they worked hard all day every day, they were employed by a big cold store company and put the composite panels on infront of us, we were putting the single ply on a big waitrose roof, Another was a ground worker for a local company, he told me he'd worked every day for 8 months solid, all the money was going to go back to Poland so he could buy a house mortgage free.... is that rig

    That's a cracking fish, It's becoming quite a big thing off of the West Coast of Ireland now, with a couple of charter boats catching Tuna regulary and running trips, so I don't think it's the one off as suggested. From what I've heard the shark fishing this year has been very good too, with one lad I know on a boat from Looe which landed 16 blues in a day with some good sized fish, big gam fishing is going to get bigger and bigger IMO in this country, what with the shifting of the currents and modern technology, Pollack and cod will be so last year As far as catching them on rod

    The whole European labour thing is difficult for employers, I don't employ Polish labour, yet I've worked alongside them and f**k they put a shift in, we have skilled fabricators who earn decent money in the yard yet a company 10 miles up the road has 2 polish lads ( a father and son) who are on half the money, now my business partner worked there running the drawing office, he's a very experienced fabricator and erector as well as a very good draughtsman now with 35 years in the business, and he has said these lads know there stuff are good fabricators, and work every hour they can...     Nearly always use them now, but never did as a kid growing up and I can't remember losing a ferret... I did wait all day for one, finally gave up and walked away when I was at the bottom of the field and looked back the f****r was running along the hedge bottom....

    Sounds like the sort of hedges we do As above, cut it into sections, short longnets across the sections and place large purse nets or poke nets in the runs, you won't get at all the holes but the rabbits will use the obvious runs between them cut these off and you should do ok...
