  1. plenty of them will go to ground as well
  2. ive never owned a car or other motorised transport-i walk to anywhere im hunting-just gets further and further as the dogs get older(i dont think a terriers musculature and skeleton is as sensitive as a lurcher/greyhound),now and again id carry a terrier in a bag on my back by bicycle if i was going hunting very far away-(havnt done that in a good while though)
  3. different strokes for different dogs-some work better if kept in -some it makes no difference to
  4. shes a short leged bitch about 11 inch, not for everyone but works well for me i have 2 of these terriers and they are good around other dogs work cover very well, this one is working under and over and very keen. i really liked the look of her when i saw her at the show, happy christmas to you-that bitch i had up there is doing very well as well(above and below)-myself and the brother were checking horses he has grazing somewhere, earlier when she put a fox out rushes-id say he heard us talking and was sneaking off-the brother spotted him-off after him like there was a rocket up her hole
  5. Well john, interesting stuff!! Do you know of a glenn dog doing the business?it would be a better cross,if you could get the wright minerals? I made a mistake when i posted that john -it was a glen and a beagle-there was 2 of themthe one that looked like a glen flipped one day when she was 3 or 4 and killed the other one and a labrador- theres a litter coming up off the same dog over his half sister( im not sure if the bitch took or if theres pups available)-there all feohanagh (christy hartnett r.i.p)lines-i.m.o there wouldnt be a glen of imaal breed at all without him-and he kept them r
  6. well done, fine strong lumps of terriers ye have, all the best
  7. But how many speakers of ancient hebrew, elamite etc .does a person come accross in life to prove whether they can or not.He was an extremely intelligent man-i
  8. no worries,id say have a look on greyhound-data-more than likely theres a good dog not too far from you
  9. theres any amount of coursing dogs for free this time lof year-maybe a length or two off derby class-but a hell of a lot faster than anything at stud on this site.Ive 2 (1 permenantly)injured BITCHES if you want either of them.
  10. id say plummers have as much breay/buck breeding in them as all but a few lines of patterdales(look upplummers thistle),some of them have inherited the desirable genes and some havent-same as any strain of dog.I think the problem with them was the over use of certain studdogs some of whom were curs
  11. id say theres wheaten or glen of imaal way back in the breeding of all the northren working terrier-the reason i say it is ,a friend of mine had an accidental litter from a glen and a wheaten about 9 0r 10 years back-1 was identical to a working lakeland or coarse irish terrier type.I bred my old bull/plummer bitch to the same glen and one also came like a lakeland.Id say it coulds be a very useful cross though maybe a bit hard
  12. peeled him, thanks for posting that tbd
  13. i wouldnt say that theres anybody breeding any breed of dog that knows exactly what theyre doing. The first dogs i ever saw dug to were out of a beagle bitch by an unknown father(she got lost from a pack and was living wild in a local bog for 4 0r 5 months until a localterrierman made a trap to catch her). They were all fairly good but the beagle they were out of was handy enough below ground as well
  14. was there a polish american pitbull breeder who did something similar years a go? komiinsky??
  15. great pictures lads, the dogs are looking great.i started that brown bitch i had with me at the w,meath ,yesterday, shes a nut job-how are yere bull/russell x patterdale going.atb
  16. thanks for the reply,i came accross it in a dogs breeding and thought it sounded iffy
  17. Glyn,do you know was she ever put to phelans poker?
  18. Why,did you want to molest it?
  19. id say they could all throw to a different side of the breeding-some could be bull deerhound ,or some could be saluki wheaten etc.with less breeds involved theres less directions the genetics of the pups could take
  20. her dam came from legion, she was by nine and im not sure what bitch she was out of. I did think she was out of l.red but i think there was another litter by nine fairly close in time to bear, mask etc..Sorry for not txting you back (havnt had credit in a while)
  21. he was the grandfather of a handy bitch i had, unfortunately she was nicked about a year ago-her dam was off a bitch bred by legion-no problems with any of them.Id say sonatal nailer was born before the outcross-i think theres a brother of nailers alive somewhere(must be 16 or 17)
