I was aware of the law on under 18's and air weapons etc as there has been much about it in the press. What I am surprised at is Air Arms putting a token fixing kit in with its guns, Someone somewhere has applied some pressure

There are definately some days when its nice to be sat here typing away while the mountains are wet and its blowing a gale, Oh pretty much like the whole of this week! But when you do get away from the desk mate you can have some fun though too. Not long and youll be in civvy street

mate this has got me laughin, fantastic, I love it, if we were in the pub I would smash my pint glass in to yours and say cheers, absolute classic ; it reminds me of something that would have been said by jackthepatterdale or one of his other multiple usernames Right PCP are they worth it, I have a 410c and I do rather like it a lot, I did like my HW80 as well, but thats gone now and I still have my 1st springer a .177 Meteor. People get to hung up on how many shots you get out of a fill, most 12ftlbs rifles will have atleast 40 shots at the sweet spot and thats plenty. Roll on

I think the problem of prey not always being knocked down on the spot will always happen, regardless of calibre. There is a very old phrase, and one that comes from mans repeated observation - 'running around like a headless chicken' because thats what they do, the sympathetic system is still working and the same applies to larger species and also to humans, they get hit by a projectile in the kill zone and its quiet obvious they have been stopped, yet the muscles keep moving - the fight or flight response to sudden traumatic impact shock is the same, the sypathetic system increases the br

Oh here we go, maybe your a bloody 'walt' as those on here know, I hate bloody walts, so wind your neck in and stop diggin a hole, what a stupid immature comment " my regiment, where 2000 people will happily-" - jesus pal you sound like something from the script of that film '300'. Im ex forces too, and so are a load of lads on here, and they dont use their unit/reg in their user names, you know why? probably because they are not soft in the head pal, or arent a walt. Yea and while Im ranting a little, I was in a very large regiment, and I didnt know 2000 that would say, hey he is a good s -

rabbit decoys for foxes
markha replied to trigger happy tikka's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Pal, I didnt understand half of what you typed!, But seriously it does only take a phonecall about a loony with a shotgun to get things moving very fast indeed, and if your username is your real name then anyone of us one here could take you at your word and simply ring up Derby firearms licensing on 01773 573725 and tell them we wish to make an anon complaint about a dan mercian who is quiet frankly a nutter and should not be in possession of any type of firearms! The police are very very twitchy about nutters with guns, and any police officer will not take any kind of comment about live ba -

Mate you truly are a clay ground muppet, I just read a post of yours which basically goes like this " heres a picture of my new gun,its a lamber, I got it from a gun shop, i dont know what model it is, what length shells do you think it takes?" and so on, plus another post about advice about steel shot and whether your gun is proofed for it. Heres the links to the posts folks: Bought my 1st gun - http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/180741-bought-my-first-shotgun/page__p__1828053#entry1828053 Steel Shot - http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/181600-steel-shot-question/page -
rabbit decoys for foxes
markha replied to trigger happy tikka's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Dan, Im afraid you are the only muppet, all the other suggestions were for using dead decoys, not stacking out a live animal and then when someone comments about it you get all defensive and say that you have no intention of checking out shooting laws and have no intention of using that method. Shooting sports are seriously at risk and as you commented, website forums can be browsed by anyone, and obviously when they see posts like yours we all get tarred. This site, is on the whole, full of genuine field sports enthusiasts, many who meet up and share their enjoyment of fishing, shootin -
Neil, Im on the other side of the hills from you and happy to help out if I can, also what are your groupings like then?

Its not always the case that the guy who does the home visit is the guy who has the final say. The person who did the home visit may well have been the fire arms enquiry officer (feo), He may not even get to see the result of the PNC/CRB checks. I dont know whether they do the checks before the home visit or after, Obviously it would make sense to do them before as this would save a lot of wasted time. However you do have to declare any offences on your application form, as this gives them a heads up to look at your file before doing a home visit. It just seems to be a very unf

Well theres no end of farms over by you, I even have a couple of permissions out your way! There are also some very nice game shoots on some big estates. Best advice is to get some cards printed at Vistaprint, then spend a day or so just driving round all the farms and doing some door knocking to introduce yourself. You will, in the end, get somewhere and once your on one farm and clearing the bunnies and rats etc for him it wont be too long before other doors open. You get out what you put in mate - Also make sure you get a permission form filled out by the land owner, and that yo

Well.... What was in your stocking????
markha replied to Marksman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Well I had mainly shooting stuff from my GF: Pair of MacWet climatec gloves - Im loving them,a very snug and comfortable glove with great grip, thin but very warm even when wet Jackpike neck warmer - great bit of kit, pulls up over the face and with my hood up just my eyes are showing. Pair of Muckboots - what can I say, damn comfortable and very warm - I asked for them and got them CaseGuard Sight-in-Clean - A bit of a surprise this one! Apparently I no longer need to use the pine chest of drawers in the kitchen as a work top, now I can put my new site-in-clean thing on top of it ins -
Thats great, thanks John, will take a look at all this

Would you pay a Land owner to shoot?
markha replied to silentshot1's topic in General Airgun Discussion
No I wouldnt pay a landowner to shoot, as above, I wrap a nice bottle of malt up and deliver with a Christams card. I pay for my land in the cost of pellets and shotgun shells and diesel used in controling the farmers pest problems throughout the year. Farmers happy, me happy. -
Thats a cracking bit of wood, Im very surprised I must say, makes the wood on my 410 look like nasty laminate effect you get on office furniture! (probably is though!) Happy hunting with the NV set. atb Mark

Ah the Holy Grail of Silencers - Twink MK2 from Daveyt63 or from Mr Twink himself Adrian Waugh ask Si aka Zinni who posted just above in this thread.

I have .22 carbine, fantastic bit of kit. Shot count wise I fill to the sweet spot of (for my gun) 160 and keep shooting down to 100 bar with only marginal POI change, I guess around 50 - 60 shots before the point of impact changes. It may not sound like a lot of shots, but one shot on target per bunny etc means plenty of shooting can be managed. Obviously if your bashing paper targets then you will probably need to fill up quiet often if your setting up a scope or trying long range shots ojn paper. Im happy as larry with mine, coupled with the Twink MK2 silencer its one of the qu

There North Wales shooting school - shotguns and 80m air rifle range, no centre fire or rimfire though. Bangor District rifle club, 100m ranges for air rifle, centre fire and rimfire. Llandudno Marksmen - 25m rimfire target club. Minsterley Ranges Shropshire border - all calibres from what I remember from shooting there years ago. Probably your best bet for gun hire/tuition plus they have a deer stalking club. http://www.minsterleyranges.com/index.htm Northop ranges - if your ex military you may have a slim chance of getting on there - all calibres, and I mean all calibres

Cheers for that mate, Ill keep an eye out for it in y mail box.
