If I wanted the law to change, so that ownership of any kind of gun was illegal and I was an oddball anti-hunting, anti gun ownership, Or i was part of a fanatical 5th column within the anti gun brigade, and some person offered me some incentives to stir up the situation, then I might just take to the streets with an air pistol and create a bit of mayhem before slipping back in to the crowd. Especially since the debate still continues to devolve airgun laws to Scottish parliament Basically, shit does happen in some very strange ways, I wander who the police will catch or scape goat,

Hello and welcome, although I have to say your post reads like a spam advert for this new air rifle your so excited about, perhaps key word density is a must in advertising these day, Or am I just a misserable old git? Or is it Collie..... It would be great to see a pic of your FX verminator to share with us all, smart guns those....

PILLAR BEDDING THE WEATHERBY VANGUARD
markha replied to philip140's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
A great write up Phil, thanks for taking the time to do this, The prep and bedding look top notch mate, well done. SP awarded Nice scope covers too. Hope this gives a marked improvement in accuracy. -
Hi Andy, cant quiet make it out on your picture, screw or jack mate? Welcome to THL.

When I have dry fired mine to empty it, it gases out via the barrel and somewhere else once it dropped below about 90bar, so I guess your gauge is just stuck and I wont bother tampering with it untill the guns back together and filled up again - carefully if the gauge is suspect. Its been a while since I had mine in bits - the kind of 'in bits' you do when reverse engineering to see how it all works - balls to the wind with the factory warranty! Whats all the staining? rust? corrosion? I would just give it a gentle wipe down and a coating of gun oil on the external surfaces (not 3-in-1

Right back on track with this thread Toxo. If your new and first posts are about tuning, then usually we al decide to either, not reply or remind you about posting guidelines. Now its a shame that you got a bit uptight and also a shame that you got shot down ( i hastend to add you didnt get shot down in flame liek some other have in the past - collie). Basically my advice would be to take your gun back to the shop and get them to sort it out. However you bought a tuning dvd off ebay? and one can only assume( yes i know assumption is the mother of all...) that you wanted more power

I wont' reply to with what just jumped into my mind when I read that That's probably for the best my friend.. ?? Im lost lads, your comments have gone right over my head! Perhaps your dirty minds see it another way My post meant that - if that pic is of Archies missus then no wonder its all happy times in Archie-land, unless of course that pic is of a ladyboy (sorry-transgender) in which case thats not my idea of happy-land, or I spose the pic could even be of Archie him/herself?

Archie, it seems that everyone in your world lives happily ever after, especially he who come home to the person in your forum pic :)UNless that is if its a 'he'.

Basically TOXO, its like this, read the posting guidlines re: tuning for power, as you wont get a bean of information out of any of us on an open forum Just another typical new member who joins just to direct post asking for tuning information. I could suggest that if you have managed to get so far as registering then your keyboard skills are worthy enough to find all you need from the internet regarding tuning AA rifles, as by god there is alot of information about that only takes a nano-second to get, sorry it just doesnt seem to be here mate

A few months back I bought a new gun, Bettinsoli delux. Its had around 700 shells through it and has worked faultlessly, albeit a bit stiff to close. A couple of weeks ago I went to cock the gun as normal and I was met with a little more resistance than normal, the gun closed and locked fine. It also fired and ejected the used shells fine. The next 2 shells were loaded and the gun still had the extra resistance on cocking, accompanied by some louder than normal cocking of the pins! Fired OK and on this went for the day, difficult cocking with metalic springy noise from the firing pins

Mick in its simplest terms : Lock time - the amount of time it takes from when the trigger is pulled to the pellet leaving the end of the barrel. If you polish everything, from trigger sears to the hammer rail you remove any friction which would make the lock time longer. The same may go for lightening the hammer, the trigger sear plates etc We are talking very small time differences though and to be honest I think there is only one thing you can do that will really make a difference on the 'lock time-accuracy' thing, and thats how steady you can hold the gun in the 1st place.

International Arms dealer gets caught!
markha replied to markha's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Some of you know of my past lives, and after a bit of digging about it turns out that York Guns has business dealings, going back a long way, with government sanctioned (Gov' turns a blind eye) arms deals between many of the worlds emargoed countries, It may well be that the US has got a little ticked off this time and decided to throw its toys out of the pram as a slap on the hand to the UK Gov'....... shit happens. -

May as well point out: And If you have a read of the 'related links' reports this also makes for interesting reading -
Hi all, did you see that piece in the shooting papers yesterday about the MD of York guns and a collegue being arrested and charged for importing 'AK47 Drum Magazines' in to the USA from China via Germany! A proper scam as it seems they were faking the air freight 'waybill' to show the cargo came from a different exit point than it realy did. Plus its a Federal case, this guy is basically stuffed, shame as York Guns is an old well established gun shop help in high respect. Short story here

Buying from USA can be a 50/50 affair, I bought nightvision mono and had no problems, however later bought zoom scope at great price only to be bashed by customs and duty.

Nothing at all to do with hunting, just thought Id share one of many pics I came across whilst mooching through 'my pictures' the other day and it jogged my memories of some of the films I have worked on in the past and present. This pics from one fo the Fx sets for 'Quantum Of Solace' whilst I was working for Bond22 (the production company who make the films) as a location film crew safety advisor. This involved making sure all the crew were safe whilst working at height and near to deep waterplus working out and plotting the exact position of the sun each day, plus weather forecasting fo

I always say what I think, yea it gets me in to trouble, but I can handle it...Im with Si on this, why didnt you film from inside if this is 350 Acres of your permission?, I reckon your just poaching around the perimeter of private property mate, IM always happy to applogise and eat humble pie if Im wrong, as Im also big enough to say sorry, In the meantime it would be great to see pics of you in action on your permissions and not just pics through a wire fence of a 'dream permission' Plus while Im thinking about it, All the utility companies have a strict protocol on pest control and eve

Well, yesterday I email Ledco who make LED Lenser torches and asked them about the possibility of haveing my favourite torch, the P7, with a high lumen output red LED. Today I had an email back about a new product litteraly released this morning! Some of you maybe aware that its very difficult to get colour filters to work with CREE LED lights due to the wavelength of the lightoutput, they are by their nature hard to filter in a way that doesnt considerably reduce their brightness. Thuis is the mail I got back from Lenser: Hi Mark, Thank you for your email, I am sure you will b
