    Cheers for the replies, the cabinet I'm looking at has a lockable top section, and yes it is a shotgun but I'd feel better knowing their locked away as I've got young'uns

    Looking into getting my licence but a question I want to ask is if theirs an extra compartment for the ammo is that alright to use or does it have to be kept in a seperate place?

    I agree but I don't see how showing a load of shot foxes will help. A good few years ago football was plagued with violent racist idiots, many probably weren't football fans at all. Somehow and I don't know how ( I'm not a footy fan)most of these idiots have been weeded out, the odd tit still surfaces but on the whole the game seems to of cleaned its image, maybe we could take a leaf out of the premier leagues book.

    Good start with the fish pictures, but more needed . Although I don't think selling the shooting fellas out will do us any favours, the way I see it each method has a place, as good or careful a shot anyone is , some places cannot be shot over that's were lurchers come in, some forests and areas to vast and hounds must be used, and terriers I see as special forces sent in to mop up the ones tucked in their strong hold where only the bravest get a result. All different , all effective and we should all stand as one.

    A while ago now on the shooting thread there was a fox shooting gallery which started to go tits up with the usual arguments, on it I suggested a fox damage galley, nothing came of it and the thread got deleted,maybe a quarry damage thread with the damage fox, mink, deer, hare and rabbits do is the way forward to show people why these animals need control. Another thing where people talk of stalls at country shows is mentioned, I've seen RSPCA stalls in town centres with the usual horrific pictures, why not put are own stalls in town centres were the uneducated public can see what it's about i

    Personnal I wouldn't touch coursing blood never mind breed it in to my bitch, and this is were myself and my usual lamping partner and also my lover bosun don't see eye to eye. Can't stand saluki crosses never could and I don't think I've got the patience for one so it wouldn't be fair on either party to have one in my kennels, although I do admire them for their coursing poweress.

    Has she had a knock on the back? had a tiny gill a few years back who after having a scuffle with a rat in a wheely bin which jumped on her back to evade capture, lost the use of her back legs for a few days, she recovered but always had a limp on her back right leg.

    I thought I knew them, luckily I got their before anything worse than cuts or bruises. Better to learn from others mistakes rather than make them yourself. On another note I remember a lad telling me he doesn't worry about terriers fighting "it's mostly just noise" he'd say, I think he's wrong the little b*****ds can and do inflict horrific injuries on each other quickly and for nothing more than a sideways glance.

    This I find very interesting in the fact that a few lads suggest putting a collar on the dog at all times, but surely that could be perceived as going out prepared for a dig even when your just out for a good stroll, before anyone kicks off I agree a collar should be on as you never know every earth and theirs always new ones popping up but with the amount of do good ers about its risky or am I just paranoid?

    I remember reading an article by Colin Didrikson or whatever his name is and he said he only dug to one dead and couldn't garentee that smithy killed it, make of that what you will.

    I maybe stupid but I'm not putting a picture of a dead fox, a spotless terrier and a man who is also spotlessly clean trying to make out its a dug fox, I'm guessing if the picture was showing the fellas feet he'd have a pair of slippers on!! And for the record I've got nothing against plummers I've never seen one In the flesh and if it wasn't for the internet on seeing one id of thought it was a Russell ( I don't go to shows either). The only one I've ever heard of ( not on the web) was a fella I know dug one a few years back and said it performed well, this is a Russell and black dog man so
