  1. That would be great aThomas if you could pm me details, what prices are reasonable? I've seen a few that go for £70 but I'm not sure if theirs hidden costs, I don't want to budget for something and then realise that I'm way off mark. Also when looking into hidden cost they say you have to pay for lost deer, that's understandable because they make money from the venison but they also charge for damaged meat, what do they mean by damaged meat? Surely any chest shot could be seen to be damaged meat, so does that mean only neck or head shots allowed? I don't think I'd be confident taking them sho
  2. Hi all, I'm looking for advice, I've just got my sgc and am looking to get a fac for stalking, with no land to get passed I was going to go on paid stalks, but am in a bit of confusion, their is a fair amount of places to go but how do you sort the wheat from the chaff. I'm already on the stalking directory but ideally I'd want to do more than just shoot a beast with a guide, things like field prep, butchering the carcass, health checks and all the other stuff that goes on with stalking but is seldom thought of by a newbie. Ideally a mentor would be the way but I understand fully the reluctanc
  3. Sometimes dogs are more dangerous on a lead, especially if their nob heads like mine!
  4. Used to run 7 mile 3 times a week with a terrier and lurcher on the roads so the dogs where always on a lead, one night a cat ran down the street and the dogs decided to change from a leisurely jog to a sprint with me attached, the only way I could stop was to run head first into a parked van, not very pleasant. Got three dogs now and I'll not be jogging with the three of them I'll end up getting ran over.
  5. Agree with you their Morton, I've seen many fell types and own one at present that have a beddie look to them, but no true beddies been in the line that anyone knows of.
  6. If a run of the mill lurcher attacked a beddi whippet it would be its last, don't you know they take red stags single handed
  7. I'll be the first to admit when I heard about this amendment I spat my Dummy right out the pram, but I've followed every angle I could and I can't help but think this was bait to see how the snp would act before a total repeal was put in place and them dumb bitter snp fookers fell for it. Soon they'll have no say what happens south of the border. Congrats to the fellas who thought of this cause if a repeal date was set I don't think they could of backed out and all would be lost. Keep your heads up lads it's the best chance we've got so keep together, think about it if hunting with hounds is
  8. I never said it's to big I said the bedding area was and a lot of heat would be lost from such a large space in a cold winter, keep the shed bit but put a smaller Bed box inside the shed.
  9. Are you taking the piss? thats bigger than my dogs kennels! If you are serious about getting it find out what the wire mesh is like, ferrets will break out of the flimsy stuff after all that's designed for chickens. On another note the bedding area in my opinion is far to big, a little box inside that would be ideal after all the saying goes a small kennels a warm kennel.
  10. I know that but who's on the front page of every paper when huntings mentioned? Not some rag arse with a bobbery pack of hounds. Who's most likely to benefit from a relaxed hunting bill? Obviously the nations elite
  11. Together we stand......... And all below middle class can go f**k themselves, or at least I think that's how the saying goes.
  12. I don't really give a toss to be honest, I never break the law so I'm as kosher as a Jewish lamb, but don't be naive enough to think a hunt never strays and yet no one cares.
  13. Nope I know what I ment and just because they say they've got no permission doesn't make it so, just means their protecting the landowner, no one likes a grass!!!
  14. If anyone thinks that we're in the same boat as them answer me this How many people coursing have been convicted since the ban? And how many hunts have been convicted? I don't know the numbers but I'm pretty sure the figures are one sided
  15. One word. W A N K E R S!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I've done it but I'm not f****n happy about it, a total repeal one minute and then we get sent to slaughter as per usual. I hope there's more to it.
  17. Finally got in touch with them today, aparantly it's the form that they send for an fac and they sent it by accident. Problem solved and apparently it's gone to the regional fella so just waiting for a call of him
  18. Totally agree with you black maggie, I'm a firm believer that any animal with an outlet becomes a much more biddable creature because of it, how many working dogs have been in the press for attacking humans? Very little I'd suspect most would be neglected pets who's idea of a walk is half an hour in the back garden.
  19. I thought as much, just a bit confusing why they'd send it. Cheers
  20. I sent off my sgc about 3 weeks ago, recieved an envelope in the post from them with a storage safety leaflet and a letter asking me for a letter off the land owner where I'm going to shoot ??? I wasn't aware you had to provide this information for a shotgun and have tried phoning to confirm this fact or if they've got mixed up with an fac application but no answer. Somebody shed some light on this please as I think this could only delay it further (or maybe that's their plan).
  21. And if a ring of salt doesn't work on slugs it will stop evil spirits from possessing your dogs
  22. Get a lab easy to train, handle and as good a dog as you'll get, and by the way, no I don't have labs, but I do have an autistic child.
  23. Barry 83 where are them dogs from? Reason I ask is a mate of mines got a bitch very similar to the black one and mine which is auntie to my mates has a ginger muzzy like the other one, just wondering if their from the same stuff. Pm would be preferable to keep people's names of the web
  24. Changes are already happening in other field sports to appease the idiot public, certain waters have a ban on barbed hooks, the grand national fences get smaller by the year, what next? I can see a limit on bag numbers for the game shooting lads looming. They'll do it slowly so you don't notice it and before you know it, it's all gone. Get your fingers out and email your mp you lazy b*****ds!!
  25. I like that dog of yours dai dogs, looks as if it could kill stuff by just looking at them.
