  1. Seen more than a few whip/collie/greys well under 24" tts tackle allsorts, and not be found wanting in any department, speed, brains and guts
  2. I personally still think this type is probably the best allround dog, especially on the lamp. Speed, stamina, good feet, tough, agile, intelligent and generally a very good coat, whether smooth or rough
  3. Said the same a few months back, not just facebook, but the internet in general will be/is the ruination of terrier and lurcherwork, especially the last 10 years. No-one needs to put any pics up to prove what they've caught, and why some people post the crap they do is beyond me. The internet has given all those opposed to hunting all the ammunition they need to ensure the ban will never be repealed
  4. I know that, but you get my drift, not all terrier breeds were created to go to ground. So saying the clue is in the name 'terrier/earthdog' doesn't really hold up
  5. Also ALOT of terriers, regardless of terrier meaning 'earth' were never ceated to go to ground, staffs, pits, airdales, manchesters, yorkies etc etc, so that theory doesn't hold up either. 3rd rate cull etc?! I had a russell bitch many years ago that was the most committed bushing dog I've ever seen, even to this day, and that was 40 years ago! Oh f**k, yep, she would occasionally drop to ground
  6. Slowly, still can't get my head around how some people, not you, confuse rabbits and hares, hares are twice the size, apart from the physical charecteristics, colouration etc. Anyway, well done
  7. You certainly have an easy to understand, no nonsense way of dealing with things! Lol I know you're only kidding ................ I hope!
  8. Politics?! . As far as I'm concerned it doesn't make a blind bit of difference who you vote for when it comes to hunting and the ban. While some of politicians will slyly say things that people want to hear, it'll only be to get more votes, period. Can't ever see the ban being lifted, but we can live in hope, and as a few have said before, crack on but be careful and don't draw attention to yourself . Just seen the above post lol
  9. probably the most underestimated dog in the field. But when ye get a good one your hooked Correct sir
  10. Enjoying this thread very much, some cracking dogs here. Pity I don't have any pics to share, so I'll just shout this ......... I LOOOVE WHIPPEEEETS!! Lol
  11. Maths aint my strongpoint, but it sounds like you'd have 3rd gen 1st x pups mathematically, but genetically the pups could throw most ways. Genetics aint my strongpoint either lol. I think think you'd end up with most of the pups same as the parents. Be nice strong athletic types
  12. how do you learn to speak cur if you need to ask , youll never know Thought that might be the answer Pretty simple really, you just need to say 'giiiit' in a hoarse sort of whisper, job done
  13. Well. I keep saying it and you keep disproving it, but those whippets are too small and too fragile to keep doing what you're doing! Either I'm wrong, you're wrong or everyone else is keeping the wrong type of whippet! Lol
  14. Thanks bud atvbmac  I don't know myself. but I've heard a few les than good reports about the AA s410's. Never used one myself so in your opinion are they any good, in general? Its the first one iv had but iv got to say its top class up to now but my shooting buddy swears by them and iv seen him take some cracking shots with one so i would say yes they are good fecking good :toast: atvbmac  Sounds good to me sir!

  16. Is this not EXACTLY what happened to bull x's?! And a few other types/x's?!
  17. Some belting clear pics there . Is that a gyr falcon in the 5th 6th 7th and 15th pics? Lovely
  18. There is beddy in there aswell and few lads say that ha
  19. I know I've said it before, but I really like that black and tan dog . Think you've said it's collie/grey saluki/whippet? Sure does look like there's manchester terrier in him though, anyway, cracking little dog
  20. Strong looking pup that, what cross/type is he?
  21. And the dogs have to be at least 27" tts, any shorter and they just don't have the necessary field of vision, especially if the light reflects off the shiny collar and/or brass fittings into the dog's eyes and momentarily blinds the dog , mind, saying that I'm assuming said mice would be lamped?! lol
  22. Good man, time to take the eye patch off and get out on the land, mouse hunting season is now in full swing Hope his dogs are brindle, always make better mouse hounds , oh yeah almost forgot, as long as they wearing a shiny collar! lol
