If it's the kc that appoints these judges, then these judges certainly aint judging to the laid down standard and should be kicked right up the arse and thrown out for helping to ruin what were once perfectly usable breeds, and new judges appointed that will judge correctly. So it is, in effect, the kc which is responsible for the dross you see at kc shows, not just breeders?

I'm with socks and the others on this, can you honestly tell me that a kc/show bred dandie or sealyham could do the job of same breeds bred for work by people not after money/fame?Same with staffs, bulldogs, gundogs, deerhounds, most working breeds in fact. Yes it's breeders breeding, but to kc standards, which are ruining most breeds of dog. All gundogs have to be KC registered to take part in a field trial. Spaniels, retrievers, hpr's, pointers and setters all do the job they were bred for yet are KC registered . A working bred springer spaniel is totally different, looks and mental attit

The ones I've seen working certainly served/serve a purpose, parents worked or not

f***ing top camouflage!

I agree with this too, but there are far more brainless plodders being bred, run, found wanting for speed and agility and still bred from , than there are good fast dogs that don't get enough credit and therefore not bred from as often as they deserve. And likely as not my thoughts on the subject don't really matter, as they are not the same as the majority of out and out coursing people

i run enough hares to know what you mean but im starting not to give the dog credit and saying it was a shit hare example last week i ran 4 hares the 1st 1 was ran for about 1 min when he picked it up and dropped it it went on another 1min and escaped into cover 2nd about 30 secs dead third about 40 dead and the 4th about 2 min again dead so i said 2nd and 3rd were shit hares 4th a good 1 so does this mean the 1st was the best hare even though he dropped it early i think we have to just give the dog credit the fittest fastest smartest hare can still die early with a smart dog behind it A

You can't say that, you'll have the plodding brigade say it was a poor hare! Lol Plodding brigade...love it, ha ha ha Lol yeah you know how it goes. Nothing to do with the dog not being fast or agile enough with a great strike, 'it was a poor hare'! Lol, As you said, I've never liked, wanted, owned and never will own a slow or plodding type dog
-
nice dog that as it picked up the saluki temp, more then the bull/ grey it looks more to the saluki , but that's just looks .? Yeah what % of bull is in it? ! ah f**k, what have I asked?! lol

I think the top pic captures what a lurcher should be, excellent shot
-
Good man they deserve the best ........ What's wrong with starting em on weetabix? Lol
-
I sort of agree with you, but a few extra inches in height is beneficial most of the time, as with the extra height, not always perceivable in many dogs, normally goes a bit of extra power, useful on many occasions
-
I like this dog, there's just summin about him, and I'm not a bull x or saluki x fan lol
-
Top and bottom pics very good
-
Whip/collie/grey cracking dogs and should be a few inches taller than your pup, very capable dogs
-
On rough ground with lamp shy rabbits that won't work too well, rabbit be gone before the dog get a good chance. I love whippets, but taller dogs are more versatile on the lamp, and extra height certainly does help on most ground

Don't listen to any of em gaf, they're all jealous, I think you're lovely! , do what you like, it's your time and effort etc, and they're your dogs -
Warning! There'll not be much positive reference to deerhound blooded dogs! Lol Or any other type lol Anyway jm, what is your preference as to lurcher types? Genuine question Ain't got a preference mate, as long as both parents can graft and are both lurchers then I'm interested. As long as they can he seen grafting, and the owner is breeding for himself and not the coin, then that's more important to me than the ingredients. Iv seen few good dogs over the years and they come in all shapes an sizes and crosses.
