  1. Not another Irish ''my dog/bitch is the best animal to ever run after a hare' saga!
  2. Nothing wrong with a whippet, as long as it stays off the beer
  3. Coat is gleaming mate, looks in top nick
  4. Second turn? Shite, get rid gaf! Lol
  5. Might get myself a lamp, I like catching hares
  6. Lucky you lads can still run hares over there
  7. Tennis balls still legal But more shameful than a lamped hare Nothing shameful about lamping hares, same as any other animal that was lamped, and don't start spouting all that 'respect' bollox either, if people respected hares as much as they say, they wouldn't slip a dog on em at all You would need to lamp a hare for a duh houndx to catch it lol, I don't lamp hares as its illegal but I owe hares nothing and eat them like everything else I catch, I just know they are easier on lamp Lol ok

  9. Deerhound x greyhound, the finest mouse hound you can get, pre ban
  10. fair play jm, you're recent posts are cheering me up lol
  11. deèrhound xs are not vectra estates ...... there more like a pair of hi tech trainers , no c**t really wants them but just cant afford anything better  I wasn't using a metaphor. I mean I actually went out and got a vectra estate after looking at land rovers But you are right about deerhound crosses. Absolute pish the lot of them. the lot of them, shows your a thick c**t doesn't it Lol, I take it you like deerhound x's then. I think gaz was joking
  12. Hmmmm I know an indie bitch from wales, no saluki and a VERY good dog on everything, including fair law, might not be be what others are thinking though
  13. Matt101, I had a 5 month old pup with same injury last year and as northernlite and oddser have said, it's a badun. I saw 3 different vets and after x-rays etc they all said same thing, 4 - 6 weeks total kennel rest and only out garden on lead for toilet, and then the physio and gradual exercise etc, and then if everything went right he'd still probably not make an athlete ( their words) or working dog. Poor f***ker was going downhill mentally, not nice. And as bracken boy just said, there's a tremendous amount of pressure when twisting etc at speed on all the joints, ligaments etc. Anyway go
  14. Think it's the same with most keen dogs gaf, when they see something and they aint slipped on it, and some greys aint exactly quiet in the traps either
  15. I had a Whippet X Grey bred by Carl Williams, always ran silent 'Bow' the sire?
  16. As others have said, don't start it too young, and don't give it difficult slips, i.e rabbit too close to cover, too far away for pup to gain ground on it etc, and get it out on it's own. I know others sometimes allow pups to watch an older dog run, but I've seen that have the opposite effect on a pup, and it normally winds the fuckers up, unnecessary hassle!
  17. My old mate's beddy x's never opened up, ever, hunted up like cnuts on the lamp lol, but never opened up! Worse dog for opening up I've seen was a bull/grey x collie/grey. And the only whippet I've heard opening up was one of carl williams' dogs many years ago. Edited to add Sorry, it wasn't the only whippet I'd heard opening up, it was the first
  18. Or boys and girls, what's wrong with sire, dam, dog bitch?!
  19. Haha...She walks at my side with a slack lead with a harness on... pulls like a train using her collar...... Had a staff do exactly the same years ago I''ve never used a harness before... A friend recommend I try it to see if she would pull less.. and it worked a treat! She's pretty good off the lead, runs flat out for a little while then walks slightly out front of me.... She definitely hasn't been blessed with the graceful run of a whip/grey, she's very gangly and heavy footed haha She'll grow out of the gangly heavy footed stuff, well certainly the gangly stage
  20. Could be worse, the dog looks comfortable and well cared for, not like some of the horror stories we've seen on here recently! By the way, I know you're not having a dig tb25
