  1. Maths aint my strongpoint, but it sounds like you'd have 3rd gen 1st x pups mathematically, but genetically the pups could throw most ways. Genetics aint my strongpoint either lol. I think think you'd end up with most of the pups same as the parents. Be nice strong athletic types
  2. how do you learn to speak cur if you need to ask , youll never know Thought that might be the answer Pretty simple really, you just need to say 'giiiit' in a hoarse sort of whisper, job done
  3. Well. I keep saying it and you keep disproving it, but those whippets are too small and too fragile to keep doing what you're doing! Either I'm wrong, you're wrong or everyone else is keeping the wrong type of whippet! Lol

  6. Is this not EXACTLY what happened to bull x's?! And a few other types/x's?!
  7. Some belting clear pics there . Is that a gyr falcon in the 5th 6th 7th and 15th pics? Lovely
  8. There is beddy in there aswell and few lads say that ha
  9. I know I've said it before, but I really like that black and tan dog . Think you've said it's collie/grey saluki/whippet? Sure does look like there's manchester terrier in him though, anyway, cracking little dog
  10. Strong looking pup that, what cross/type is he?
  11. And the dogs have to be at least 27" tts, any shorter and they just don't have the necessary field of vision, especially if the light reflects off the shiny collar and/or brass fittings into the dog's eyes and momentarily blinds the dog , mind, saying that I'm assuming said mice would be lamped?! lol
  12. Good man, time to take the eye patch off and get out on the land, mouse hunting season is now in full swing Hope his dogs are brindle, always make better mouse hounds , oh yeah almost forgot, as long as they wearing a shiny collar! lol
  13. Yeah, nothing as good on rats and rabbits as a bull x, so why all these bull x owners are saying their dogs are taking so many foxes is anyones guess! lol
  14. Lol . Said pretty much the same to my lad the other day, re bull x lol
  15. I'd say that was a massive generalisation. I think the 'effort' put into a run is probably as much down to the individual dog. I think the issue r.e bull x's and stamina, is in the breeding. How many greyhounds that are used, have very good stamina? And how many of the bulls used actually have any kind of decent stamina, most of them are 'pet bulls'. . . . . hardly done a days work in their life. . . . . they also have a different kind of stamina to other breeds. And you just made a generalisation. They are not or were not all bred from pet bulls and easy to.come by second rate greys, the
  16. Well done again sir. Out every day, working all sorts of terrain, retrieves from water, and obviously doesn't get many injuries, or she wouldn't be out so often, and she still looks in great nick. You're obviously doing something right . I dunno, these whippets are just too fragile! Lol
  17. I like that bitch, even if it is a BULL X! Lol. Sounds like you've had a great season with her
  18. No need for a 'pilot' hare with that one! Lol
  19. A few lads have said that their 1st x beddy/whips were not quite fast enough. 3/4 whip/beddy could be a good option, as along with being a bit faster, most seem to throw a pretty good coat too. As for pure whippets being too fragile or easily broken etc, or not being suitable for wooded areas, well alot of people on here seem to be of the same opinion, but I have to disagree. Seen plenty, and owned a couple of whippets that caught very well in wooded areas, and missed trees etc easily, and certainly faired no worse, and in the nain quite a lot better than bigger, stronger dogs. I think whippet
  20. Maths aint my strongpoint either, but I know my mates' deerhound x greyhound x collie x greyhound x saluki/BULL/greyound x bedlington x greyhond x saluki// greyhound is still a bull x!
  21. Cracking thread and pics. Are those plummers a small type, or most of those rats very big? Some of them look huge with the plummers! lol
