  1. Interesting read ?? Do you do any retrieving work with dispatched rabbits in a confined space? What’s the pups recall like?
  2. If there eat it An it’s going spare I’d treat them to a bit got to be better than binning something you’ve payed for it can’t be a bad thing treating a dog to something high in h2o
  3. That’s what I thought But was interested in the carbs benefit as it was bought up I’ve no problems how or about feeding raw I think I’ve mastered it I can understand about Salukis or heavy saluki blooded dogs as in Arab countries I bet there main diet would be a high carbohydrate base diet based on the types of food Arabs eat.the same said about dogs fed entirely on chicken frames I bet there poo is like talcum powder an calcium levels through the roof
  4. What would you say the percentage of carbohydrates id have to feed per sitting to my dogs to get the best out of them I try An stick to 80% meat 10% bone 10% offle as a rule but I’m always willing to learn an try different things to see if there’s any better ways of doing things
  5. I like to feed raw I’ll literally feed anything the dogs are willing to eat but one thing I won’t feed is a lot of meat off bone if I know I’m going to be out running the dog on the lamp. the night before if I know I’m going out the following night it’d be a meal on the lines of green tripe minced beef an a small amount of minced offle.....that’s how I do things I personally wouldn’t want to run a dog for all it’s worth with a gut full of pascal digestied sharp bones I know I’ll probably get blasted by the Lurcher world experts for this comment with a reminder of dogs in the wild ?
  6. It’s a pup there ears are all over the place I’m sure your pup will grow in to them
  7. Yep that’s it mate 6months this Saturday nice one mate he’s a nice size no rush on the bunnies yet mate I gave mine a little experience with the ferrets to nets just so she could see what was what a couple of weekends ago but had a dilemma with my ferrets dieing I’m down to 1 I had her out this Sunday she marked some scrub i disbeliefed her based on her experience so moved her on an thought what if she wasn’t false marking so I jumped the scrub out popped a bunny so she is learning I’ll have to get the tape measure out mine must be 21she had a spell we’re she slowed down growing
  8. You can see why when some of these people who loose there dogs there like feck it can’t be assed to go fetch the dog back if it cost that much to get your own dog back.....
  9. You forgot to add bedlington x greyhound to your list of pot hunting dogs there’s not much a decent bedlington greyhound can’t bring to book
  10. Ok mate sound ??Had a fella I know asking about pups of this breeding he asked me to keep my ears/eyes open for decent breeding he said he’d probably wouldn’t be ready for a pup next year time any how. Keep us updated with if the lining happens should be some cracking pups
  11. Should be handy x mate what sort of age will the parents be and what experience have they had at retrieving shot bigger game than rabbits? Will there be pups offered or are they all spoken for?
  12. Deerhounds are on the shelf sadly it’s a lost cause there found wanting! If this wasn’t the case An they truly were or are good hare dogs,Fox dogs, deer dogs there would be plenty of options still about that are still producing the goods today there a weak link regardless of how the law stands there the dog of yesteryear that didn’t make the cut there’s far better options out there for these jobs today
  13. The Pups are looking smart squab,Richie ??
  14. Not to often I’ve done 2 litters of this breeding in the last two years same sire An dam both parents well seasoned workers An had no problem selling surplus pups I gifted a few out to working homes the few that went to working homes from the first litter are doing really well for them selfs on a bit of everything ones even on the beating line for a shoot An does picking up my pup I kept I was unlucky with as sadly she’s no longer with us so thought I’d do a repeat mating to get my self what I need from the repeat mating I only done a add on my face book page as advertisement as I keep my self
  15. Cheers mate I recon she’ll make a handy 22 to 23tss
  16. Bedlington/collie xs any one run them if so how do you find them? This is my pup she’s nearly 6months old with her first ferreted rabbit (to nets) no free running but like to get fur in there mouths young
  17. mate there’s a reason you can’t find one it’s probably because the people that bred them or tried them there % of turd produced over weighted any good ones produced there for no ones breeding anything decent or worth a punt at if there was a high percentage of decent ones being bred rabbiting mans kennels would have collie/whippets in An pups aplenty...........best off just looking for a nice whippety Lurcher to lurcher with a drop of collie An bedlington in job done
  18. Round by me I’ve hardly seen any rabbits all summer and I was out regularly I’ve seen no young rabbits at all this year over the summer months I’ve been out recently checking all my favourite little ferreting spots that would of been ideal for my pup to see a bit of action An they look dead no fresh diggings or shit or any sign of activity so i didn’t bother with them I managed to get down in a nice little wood that I’d picked out the week before for a go at a quick ferreting trip just to offer her a little bit of experience it offered 1 rabbit I was happy with that I’ll do the same this weeke
  19. I’ve a old bedlington x whippet that’s done both her cruciate ligaments in her back legs running a rabbit in the day time that she put up that took her over heavy plow I was told to retire her as pet I did for a year then see she was all depressed as f**k with not going out with the other dogs ferreting so thought bugger it an bought her out of retirement she copes well she’s not fast (she never has been)An has a weird hop and almost moves wooden I’ve tried retiring her 3 times she’s nearly 11 now but when I’ve been having bad luck with the dogs I always end up pulling this old bitch out of h
  20. Man this as got to be a joke if your asking when to breed your bitch your not ready to be breeding any dogs tbh get your head stuck in to a few books read about all the ins an outs about breeding dogs see if your bitch is worthy of breeding then try an find a stud that’s actually as good as made out to be in the field
