Over the summer months up early plenty of road work plus bikeing if it’s not to hot a day with the dog free running I also get my running shoes ? on An do a bit of cross country running my self what ever one takes my pleasuring I also just general walk them about over the fields An once the hunting season is nearly up on us I finish the dog off trotting side by side on my push bike to get them in general fit condition there fit then there’s running fit that there get from being behind gear

And I’d even be careful on putting that on here trenchfoot there’s always going to be that one person that crawls out from underneath there rock to state your poaching the egg wrong ??and they can do it better with there dogs

I don’t post any hunting trips as rule legal or not ..that’s between me an the dog I don’t need the internet gurus to grade my dogs for me I’m a 100% honest bloke and I’m capable of doing that my self with honesty i know the difference between a good dog and a turd and I prize a tryer master of none as my type I don’t suffer with any insecuritys or need people to give me a pat on the back for any hunting efforts I do occasionally get a bit excited with up an coming pups An post the odd picture with a wabbit or two but that’s as far as it goes once any young dogs up An running I keep everythin

Nowt confusing about my comment whitefoot he can buy now why he can see the dog work or get tucked up over the summer with a turd he can’t see work....buying in a ready made dogs is not my cuppa t either but each to there own mate if he’s got the cash for a good dog to run good luck to him -
Any tips? Slow An steady wins the race pick your pup wisely for the land An quarry you work don’t be miss lead by fools as your find more than your fair share about an may I suggest a well bred bedlington x greyhound would be a pup you look in to there a good beginner dog plus a experienced dog handlers dog jack of all trades masters of none. Watch the peddlers plenty about breeding An peddling there shit

Perfect time of year to be buying a ready made dog in least you can go see it actually work rather than buying just of someone’s word it being good least you won’t get tucked up with a turd -
Go on then I’ll say it.......only on the hunting life??

Nice man he’s looking good. How’s he doing training wise An how’s he coming along in general?
-
That’s incorrect mate I bet there’s loads of lads who to be honest couldn’t give a monkeys about the past history or tradition of hunting it changes nothing of the present time lads will still be out grafting there dogs without know the history or tradition of it.....it’s called history for a reason it’s all foundation of lies to sell stories to the gullible enough to read them

Biggest load of bollox going salesman’s pitch to drum up sales with a expensive price tag complete dog peddling racket! If you honestly buy in to the bullshit told you’d have to be a thick fool????why would any one need a dog to do a rolley polley to catch quarry

I used to lamp regularly with mine I considered my self serious at one point I used to be getting on gear pretty regularly with mine but have a young family an a job to attend to every morning these days so now throughout the season i would normally as a rule lamp twice a week an ferret one day normally Sunday but at the minute no bitch to run just a pup to bring on I’m always skeptic of guys that say you need a blitz to be a serious lamper -

I use a old cluelite for years it was a hand me down I’ve converted it to 100w bulb with alloy back plate to its now a blazerlite with flip up filter brilliant little lamp it’s seen plenty of action over the years big fields an small a load of people said up grade your lamp I thought feck it so got a 170 variable it’s strange with the new lamp I didn’t notice my cach rate being any higher or mine or the dogs abilitie to see quarry any better I always find my self back with the old cluelite back in hand as I find it perfectly man enough for my eye sight to see gear plus easy to flip the filter -
Not many hares are going to get far in the snow on a open field so very unsportsmanlike foxes An deer stand out like a sore thumb at night no need for a lamp it’s kind of pointless even bothing to hunt just enjoy the snow it will soon be melted

Wondering on how to know the breed of pups
poxon replied to John Barnes's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Seems just like people are taking to lurchers these days as a hobby just to breed fecking litters of pups without testing them in the field an clueless c**ts breeding for colour to help line there fecking pockets -
If I wanted a out an out lamp dog if I was out enough running the beam for a mixed bag I wouldn’t hesitate to own a well bred bull/grey x saluki/grey
