the kid never stole anything threatened anyone or forced anyone into anything what he did was use sales gargon to get something cheap and sell it on at a profit . nothing wrong with that .good on him i say .

to all you that didnt march and reckon they did feck all you havnt got a clue if you had marched and helped out you might have hears of the r.c.a, or real countryside alliance. did more than most realise but lots of it was shall we say not right and proper and leave it at that cos it certaily aint for a open forum what they got up to. and a lot of them were lurcher terrier and every other feildsport standing together risking arrest or worse yes the c.a could have done more but so could a lot of people that didnt get of their arse and then complained about the ban .

and sorry kay cracking greyhounds a real credit to you just cant believe anyone would think top honch was crap .

huntingalltheway how can you say he gets to much credit he was top stud dog for years throwing winners galore there must be an awfull lot of greyhound men and women that dont know a lot if your right .

to be quite honest i cant imagine anyone with half a brain going poaching with a lurcher thats not stock broken.and if you do and it starts killing farm stock my opinion is you have asked for whats coming years ago was nearly caught for something which idiots who had been there previous night and killed a load of sheep had done .years ago there seemed to be quite a few trigger happy farmers but its costly being trigger happy when the dog hasnt done nothing wrong other than ran the odd rabbit or hare .poaching with a stock worrier big no no in my book as is owning one.

just read this post from start to finish again . the idiots driving the feilds deserve what they get and the mob handed brigade must be braindead if they think they are going to get away with it in this day and age. but to the ones who think all poachers without permission are the same you want to get a life also whoever said why have a lurcher if you have no permission are you real .i have run that area for quite a few years and as i said be sensible on and off. walking only you alone or with a mate and if aproached be polite and courteous always worked for me . in the last few years i hav

fence hopper your wrong not all show winners are just good looking lots do work as well . a pup i bred won 13 out of fourteen puppy championships and was worked harder than a lot of lurchers day and night got through to a puppy coursing final as well . the real type not lure coursing . ended up being retired at just over 2yr old from bad coursing injury . she was a stunning looking bitch but at the end of the day i bred her for work and that is what she did the fact that she was a stunner to look at was just a bonus . and remember worker or just show dog their owners put money in the coffers

retreived hares from that area for years get there for first light just you or a mate and get your runs and get back home not half as much hassle as mob handed at midday .

dexys midnight runners the jam dubliners beach boys elvis mcoy artic monkeys shit i like allsorts .

i think davy is asking who had the best coursing dogs before the saluki crosses came so prominent in the coursing feild .when the deerhound cross was the prominent cross for coursing back in the 60s and early 70s

i race greyhounds as well as work the lurchers been over to ireland greyhound coursing quite a few times and the coursing greyhounds are massive as all that is required over there is fast run up . theres no differance in my opinion in track or coursing bred as theey both have prey drive to spare and both can have strengths and weaknesses i have a litter due out of my greyhound bitch in 3 weeks to a pure coursing saluki and this bitch ran 2 4 and 6 bend races and since retirement shows just as much determination on the real stuff as she did on the dummy hare . i honestly dont or cant see it ma

i bred a litter of 7/8 greyhound 1/8 p bull a few years ago out of my threequarter greyhound quarter bull cracking litter very fast and gutsy would take all quarry night an day on feild or fen.will be honest though they did tend to spend more time in the vets than most .

innan above post is so true and the number of times when outside the ring ive heard that dog isnt worked .well sorry but on the day your never going to know and it doesnt matter whether it does or doesnt as chalkwarren said its a beauty parade of dogs and your picking which you think are the best 3 dogs on conformation looks and condition on the day . and as you know mate sometimes thats hard enough job on its own .
-
i have done quite a bit of judging over the last 30 odd years and as innan said ive never been able to tell a dogs working proess from looking at it or examining it .and something else in all those years i must have examined thousands of lurchers and all owners say their dog works whether this is true or not is not for me to decide because as the judge for the day all my job is is to pick the best dog in my opinion and i quote my opinion because at the end of the day thats all it is one persons opinion on the day. what i will say is all that glitters is not gold because what looks a stunner f

a good bull cross will catch any quarry pre or post ban but catching a hare with ease daytime ? .a full blown coursing dog dont have it their own way so with ease cant see it myself. and by a good bull cross i dont mean first cross most ive seen have been to heavy and or slow for daytime hares. but get a threequarter or something near and they can run .the best lurcher ive ever owned was this cross . also bred a litter to a greyhound dog out of her and the pups could run and catch big and small stuff . its to easy to say a certain cross can or cannot do this or that. a good saluki cross is
