  1. It seems harsh to lurcher lads to see this amount of hares shot, but it has to be done regardless of what anyone says. Farms cannot sustain this amount of hares and as the only LEGAL way of control is shooting that is what happens. In this quantity hares ARE vermin and without control the farm crops would be devastated, if dogs were legally allowed to course hares then I would imagine they would be having coursing days, not over a couple of days but months. I am not saying that there would be as many caught but you never know, would that still be cruel? some say that dogs should be allowed to
  2. Every time you open your mouth you embarrass yourself. You really are a loathable cretin.
  3. I understand the need to cull certain animals with fire arms as an efficient means of dropping the population. This in particular applies to shooting foxes on the lamp / with N.V and with driving hares to shotguns. The countryside is a complex place and we have tampered with it in such a way that we are now forced to take a hand in things we would often rather not. All this i understand and i shoot to, but for me a gun is just a tool, for doing a job that needs to be done, it is not something to take great pride in using.. What i am trying to badly say is that while i dont look down on folk wh

  5. Do you not feel like a slaughter-man?
  6. used for doodles and the occasional portrait.
  7. There is no 'both' option. Just like any working dog - you go find a decent litter and then put the work in rearing it right.
  8. its the escape routes im after thanks anyway It's like playing commandoes innit!
  9. Seen it done on here by some real pros at it and was very very impressed!
  10. Well said,my wife thinks I give the dugs more attention than her and she,s probably right My missus lives 120 miles away most of the time Whereas i can usually put my hand on the dog most of the time I'm also lucky the misses (having never even thought about the concept of hunting before meeting me) loves coming out when she is here and loves the dogs, so their family, a hobby, a companion, a tool, a guard, source of food and occasional income. . . . . As long as there is enough game on the table and the freezer, its just about spending time working and hunting with the animals
  11. Each to their own, what you do is what you do, but half the dogs the get sold / pts could have probably been decent dogs if the lad who owned them wasnt constantly trying to measure them against some inflated standard. The owner would also be a better dogman if they didnt worry so much about said inflated standard. My dogs my best mate, i spend more time with him than any other living thing.
  12. I agree it was a good game, i enjoyed it a lot. Its nice when there is constant action and excitement. At the end of the day both teams played well. Think English did best on set pieces and attack, and Welsh had more of the loose play and did very well at defence at points. Next time guys . . . next time
  13. The Welsh did very well for the last 15 minutes but they just weren't up to a win over England A very good game and the best team won :boogie: Same old discipline problems with your lot though pal, you're lucky we didn't have our kicking boots on.. If we'd had those kicks matey, or if the game had gone on another 15 mins we'd have had them. Ah well.
  14. It's a nightmare and a vicious circle. More folk hunt than ever before, shooting, lamping, ferreting etc etc, so land is a lot harder to get permission on, especially in areas where its all keepered or the farmers are selling the shooting rights. Having dogs in some areas is like having leprosy. Then you add the fact that cos no one can get permission, if you are lucky enough to get some it probably gets poached to shit anyway. So you need to poach, but now because of the ban and because everyone else is in the same boat as you (ad some of them are idiots) everyone is poaching and so the keepe
  15. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Some folk post a small number of times and do a lot, some folk post a few times and do f**k all. Yes, some folk make 1000's of posts and do very little spending time on here when they could be out, but other that put up a lot of posts are like Russ, or myself. To be fair i'm fairly sad, i live on my own (my missus lives away and visits most weekends), so its just me the dogs and ferrets. I don't socialise much and don't really watch t.v or have any other hobbies. I'm out with the dogs or ferrets every day, be it night or day time or both, sometimes for a coupl
  16. I usually stick it up but have the same daft thought, so try to stick it out the way.
  17. Series about police dogs - spaniels, alsatians etc - training and work. On now - it's pretty good.
