  1. and of course your 'mates' dog is obviously the same as this dog.
  2. Me to mate. I don't know why but i guess a kid ringing out the blue and asking what a dog that has been dead for 10 years took. . . . .probably just sounded a bit odd. I've never had a problem getting the man to talk but had more problems getting him to stop talking about his dogs.
  3. Maybe he just didn't want to answer those kind of questions from a stranger on the phone.. I certainly wouldn't have been.. His yard HAS been robbed in the past.
  4. Beautiful bitch mate, great specimen! Really hope you find her a decent life long home.

  6. I and many others have had good, long, informative convos with him. He knows whippets and certainly his whippets very very well. He does not suffer fools gladly, and many of those who have said that they rang him and didnt get much chat are those who slag him off on here - wonder what their attitude was like on the phone? Sooty sam is dead. What he did or didn't do. . . . thats for mike and a few others to know and the rest to speculate about! And yes ss was mainly lamped. Now to the original question - i would expect ANY well built, well brought on 'working type' whippet to be able t
  7. CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT. I.E Not through feet of soil.
  8. A happy dog is a dog that is fit, healthy, well cared for, knows it place in a/the pack and has a job. The last two are especially true for a working bred dog i think. Whats missing for your lad?
  9. TIN HATS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HANDBAGS AT THE READY!!!!!!!!!!! :friends: :weight_lift2: :vava:
  10. don't be silly did you not here the guy she turned it once and on the second turn it started yapping, imo they don't yapp coz they carnt catch it's just one of them things unfortantly they do. its a horrible thing, but why waste time pissing n the wind when you can move onto something else, me peronaly would get it a pet home. it's time to stop making excuses for these dogs that yap. it's incurable in my eyes. Aye - 12 months old, has a yap - give up, dogs shit, get rid and onto another. Typical THL advice.
  11. i am supprised they aint shitting through the eye of a needle feeding fruit & veg .. watch grapes though there known to be toxic to dogs & ferrets as are onions  All in moderation ! I have to admit when they have had grapes I peel them and remove seeds,, bit ovva polava but it`s just a wee treat for them. 90% of there diet is meat and dry feed, anything else is just to vary there diet and as a treat. Theres no such thing as a vegetarian ferret ,,!!! before anyone thinks of it!! I used to feed mine some fruit / veg and then realised it doesnt add anyt
  12. You must be a retard. Its that simple. The guys pup ran into a tree stump. Are you saying you have never run your dog on land where there are trees, tree stumps, any kind of fallen branches, fences etc? He didn't slip it at a bunny sat amongst a load of tree stumps, it was an ACCIDENT. It's a sickening part of running dogs. Walking the ground does f**k all good most of the time, a lot of dogs die hitting things they have avoided plenty of times rather than some serious hazard that the owner hasn't seen. I was out yesterday with my pup having a mooch and he put a rabbit out of a big bramble pat
  13. Did it let out one or two yaps or yap like mad constantly when running? If its the first it might be excitement, a young dog on its first run of the night. If its the latter - get it lots of easy kills and maybe that will help.

It certainly has....3 more days picking up and 2 days shooting and thats that!!

  16. You can feed them whats been mentioned - but why wouldn't you feed them meat? You've got ferrets - there's no excuse Mine get all game/vermin taken apart from fox. Also eggs and goats milk. And some dried food in summer if it gets real hot. They are obligate carnivores which means they can only really digest meat (or at least things with very high protein - hence egg and dry food).
  17. Ferrets were/are bred purposefully to be domesticated and live with humans and hunt? A pet/working animal is what you make it, as is a ferret.
  18. Camping shop and get bright colored plastic tent pegs. Make long netters very fine but dark nets easier to see and go into even frozen ground.
