  1. Good man! Keep us posted on the big fella, he's a cracker!
  2. You're just being mean because he's black. You racist. If its not blue...its shitee SINGLE HANDED On rabbits and rats....... Oh, and never mind single HANDED... takes the lure with 2 FINGERS Single handed. . . . . like you can fit in in the palm of one hand? Does it pick up sky with those ears as well?
  3. You're just being mean because he's black. You racist.
  4. Baaa, big boy?. You been talking to your missus then? Cos she calls me 'Big Boy' to.
  5. Yes mate, f**k them silly we do. . . . . . Sheep, English women, pretty much the same thing to us.
  6. Then i have been there, and spent a couple of weeks in a wee cottage there to. Never saw a hare though, just lots of sheep.
  7. I don't think i have ever really been up there much mate, i must do so one day, make a point of having a wander this summer. Not for the hunting, just because i like to see all the wild country this land holds. Maybe i have been there, i don't know. Been around scafell pike a fair bit etc.
  8. I do like that bitch Andy, as you well know. She is one of my favourites Do you find many up on the high ground?
  9. Made me to. I also laughed at his assertion that my dog was "a weedy runt, with pointy ears and a terible coat", whereas his mates whippet was the dogs bollocks. Well, he has never seen my 22" 37.5lb whippet in his life. . . . .. and i wouldn't exactly call it 'weedy'. It's also the same way bred, from the same person, and looks pretty much the same as his mates dog
  10. Good point there - I hear of folk with 2000 friends on fbook - fk me I don't know anything like that amount of folk - I am on FB to keep in touch with some of the lads I train with at home and abroad...think I have 30 FB friends and know them all???? That's it mate, i see folk on there, with 100's of friends, most of which they have never actually met, and they are sticking photos of their dog killing charlie as their profile picture and shot. And they are surprised when their doors get put through!
  11. Seen this litter, well reared, quality pups, and the bloke seems very sound.
  12. I know of one thats not quite first x. It's a good, leggy working collie put over a collie lurcher, that is more than 3/4 grey.
  13. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/270320-greyhound-or-large-whippet/page-2 Post #22 and #23 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/140847-working-whippets/ and Post #5 Which i guess makes col_88, both fencehopper and a liar. I wouldn't have bothered sticking it up, but since you decided to slag off my dog over the internet having never seen it in the flesh . . . . . i thought i would.
  14. Also teaches folk not to make 'friends' with every tom, dick and harry online. You can use facebook, keep it to your 20/30 mates (if you are lucky haha) and no one will moan.
  15. Exactly why a well trained dog that will break off and recall, is much more useful to a moocher than an 'all or nothing' coursing type (nowt against em just a specialist dog rather than an allrounder generally) For me, its a big job fer a whippet. You could fell a tree with a Hatchet, but why would you if theres chainsaws about. Theres enough of em brave enough an quick enough but its never gonna be as clean and quick as summat bred for purpose. The Whippet was bred for the rabbiting and racing niche, unfair to ask more. I would be a little upset if my dog called off quarry when he had r

  17. It's funny mate, i almost talk as much shit as that Fence Hopper lad? Remember, the one with the blue whippet . . . . that he said could handle a fox on it's own? Bet you can remember him aye?

  19. on the bottom of the ocean Yes mate, all of these guys are lying. Did you just need to jump in to agree with Dan been there done that paid the vets bills, learnt my lesson and didnt do it again I was just winding you up mate, just made me laugh how you jumped in with the coment after Dan. I would never ever pick a whippet as a fox dog, and never ever use one purposefully with any regularity, but i guess i must have just got lucky. But come on, saying a fox will 'ruin' a whippet, f**k it up so bad etc etc. . . . . it's a bit of an over reaction. It's a fox, not a f
  20. I think you need to remember Dan, that here, our runs are not usually anything like yours, especially in this part of the world, where the fields are like postage stamps. I'd be very surprised if after most of the runs round here, a dog is out of breath when it catches. And in general we term a single handed dog, just one that can do it on it;s own, rather than a dog that would be regularly doing it as a job. The big difference is i guess, even a good whippet which COULD kill a fox, would probably tell you to f**k right off if you asked it to do a second the same day / night. A g
  21. Agree with all of what you have said mate...but... Although its a given that with legal representation and the right support a situation like this would almost certainly blow up in the OB/social services faces and cause them a lot of embarrassment etc... would I really as a parent put my family through a situation with that much stress and potentially a couple of nights stay in foster home (you never know!) for the sake of having a picture up on facebook. Its a tough one between doing whats right and just keeping your head down to avoid the arse ache. I am careful with how I put
