  1. I was doing a hedge cutting job a while back for this South African chap who had three Rhodesian Ridgebacks... i spent a long time up the ladder that day without getting too much work done
  2. I'd just exercise the utmost caution when leaving your rig. I set up a fair old way from a footpath (obviously well out of sight) and had mine properly messed up. If there's houses nearby you're bound to get rumbled somehow... i'd just wait until the best conditions presents itself (drizzle with wind in the right direction) and do a night set when the rabbits are well out to feed... that way you can creep up the hedgerow without being busted. I'd certainly reccomed practicing the set up before hand and clear the set of and shite thats likely to get caught up in the net. Good luck bud
  3. Thats the ticket Super quite yet hard hitting. Similar to a FAC airgun but with a bit more wallop... just thinking of a few situations where this could come in quite handy. Was pigeon shooting at the weekend, awsome hide, great pattern.. trouble was all the pigeons were lined up like tin cans on a wall on a cable about 60 yards away. Nothing behind but miles of fields but still feel uneasy about using regular .22LR rounds... what are your thoughts on using these... or not..
  4. I use the Eley subs myself but these are the 'half pint' sized ones...
  5. I'm talking about the reduced power short round ammo. Do any of you pesters / mochers use this stuff and if so how do you rate it and in what circumstances.
  6. Most of my mates up here in Bristol are totally ignorant of anything to do with outdoors... let alone the countryside. They think i'm a country bumpkin... hence LY
  7. Nice pics mate I half expected to see a pic of one of the kits hanging off your dogs nose. Nice colours
  8. I was going to ask the same thing... apologies if you get this question all the time but whats the set up called, how does this work and how much is it :clapping:
  9. Probably the most impartial press article i've read... none of the usual sensationalism or speculation.. or excerpts from 'disgusted' ramblers. Quite suprised me to be honest You can't help but feel sorry for the blokes concerned although they don't have a leg to stand on. This stupid law only serves to divert resources away from real 'crimes' and not this micky mouse law.
  10. Yet again mate... great bag and all looking to have nice head shots
  11. Nice one Ditch ... company firewall won't let me download the software but i'll put it in my home pc. Appreciate the help bud
  12. Sorry for sounding like a complete dumbo here (maybe this has already been queried but i can't find the thread)... i'm having real problems uploading photos into threads that previously had no problem. The process implies that pics will be automatically re-sized if they are too big but it doesn't seem to be working. I haven't got the faintest idea how to resize them myself (had a look on google and it all seems far too colpmicated. Am i being dense?
  13. Suberb mate! Crack out the kelly kettle, get a brew on and enjoy the moment
  14. :clapping: Congrats mate... that makes two of us! I'm leaving for 6 months on 1st October... going to be living in Aukland
  15. I seem to remember the same abuse happening to Salter 12... constant bitching and shouts of 'MESSER' because a newbie hadn't endeared himself to a few members Just been through the posts and they don't look too fruity... maybe a few strong views on 'increasing ethnic diversity' of this country (i'm not to stoked about the bleedin' situation either to be honest) but nothing to burn the guy over. Play nice chaps
  16. Two moments that stand out: Stalking boar through thick gorse tracts in a valley in New Zealand with a .243! The game trails through the gorse were really narrow; you could hear the sounder rooting and snuffling but the were periods where everything would go deadly silent and i'd have my foot off the ground too scared to put it down unless it made a sound. ... Didn't get any that time but it was the most amazing experience! My Godfather took me grouse shooting to the Bows Estate in Scotland for my 25th Birthday... All the guns were really nice appart from this one chap who was a c
  17. Love that action pic MC... makes me wish i was out there right now I'll be looking to get one off those baskets off you when i get back from NZ but it won't be until next year so don't run out hey!
  18. or even better.. ...mans pulls up to a child in a car and says "if i give you a sweet will you come in my car" ... child reply's.. "if you give me the whole packet i'll come in your mouth"
  19. Sorry to be dulpicating this thread... can't find my other one. £525 the rifle £150 the scope £650 the pair... i would rather sell as a package.
  20. How annoying! Is the action is secured to the stock properly?
  21. A little on the heavy side, also may restrict you on taking fox if your variation doesn't cover it. I know some lads who swear by them for shooting boar and and deer shooting in woodland in NZ
  22. I firmly disagree with the idea on entering ferrets without collars. Ok maybe on a easy, shallow bury with only a few holes if you want to keep the 'old skills sharp' but other than that its madness IMO. Shaking a dead rabbit in a hole to get them to come 'running' back also seems extreamly unlikely and unreliable... the only time i could ever imagine this working is if the ferret was only a short distance into the bury or dangling it in a hole if it had moved a short way from a dig to. OK so don't be in a hurry to get the spade out and give them time to work but use a locator... it'll sa
