  1. I pay £11.50 a box (50)... sounds about right :glare:
  2. I've got a small one clipped to the side of my box for when i think i'm close to breaching but just to one side. Only about 1 1/2 ft but joes the job well enough.
  3. I say fair play to the bloke... as i'm sure you know there's a bit more effort and fieldcraft involved than going round a field squeeking, not to mention getting a bead on them long enough to take a standing shot. The forum needs members like Foxhunter to balance the site out a bit more This debate has been had before.... they are vermin causing some farmer / keeper a headache. Whether they are easy or hard to take is irrelevant. They look pretty mature to me as well
  4. Nice, clean fox's there mate. Good shooting Whats that take the tally to this season then
  5. "but i was passing the farm house and i offered the farmer's wife a couple which she accepted" Fair play to you mate, a nice touch and a good way to get brownie points ... thats what its all about.
  6. I use this sort £15 - 20 and you can get them with a metal handle. Good when you've got a 4WD... bad if you're walking.
  7. Nice bag mate... hope it wasn't a warm day or too far back to the house as the old boot looked pretty rammed My Dorris would cut my balls off if i did that!
  8. Ohh well... if it makes you feel any better i went on a bass fishing trip off Weymouth earlier in the year as they had a spare place and some lad vomited beans and egg in my face as i was on the windward side when he yawned... and that was at 8 in the morning... not good for the sea legs.
  9. Quality... pretty hard to keep up with hey
  10. :11: thanks Chief. Boss may have had a few words to say about the PC
  11. I can't seem to view the whole threads... just the topic thread with a list of individual reply's underneath that you have to individually click on to read... got emicons back on the compose page mind Edited to say if i have somehow managed to change my settings.. apologies for being a muppet and can someone please explain how to put it back.. if it has been updated and this is the new format.. bugger... cos i'm set in my ways and don't like it.
  12. Not having a pop Ian... are you having a bit of a fiddle with the site at the moment? Seems to be slow as feck and the viewing options (inc emicons) are fecked. Just want to know before i throw my pc out the window.
  13. Really sorry to hear that bud... so close to new season as well. RIP fella
  14. Welcome mate... lovely part of the world you have down there. Good to have another southerner in the mixer. Catch ye later.
  15. I just coverd mine in salt for ages, went really stiff. Wouldnt want to make a coat out of them but fine for dummys etc. Yep... know where you're coming from. I salt cured some when i was a lad and they were like cardboard. Tried rubbing them against a concrete post and even took and power drill with a wire brush attachment to them (dad was a bit pissed with that one). Eventually used a wet cure using Alum and salt and a bit of washing powder (can't remember the proportions) and got some relatively supple ones. Trouble was they were thinning coats to summer pleage by the time i figured t
  16. A CZ Varmint in .22... a common enough rifle but i was after one with really nice wood as you see them from time to time with borderline exhibition grade stocks They basically pulled a blinder and found one with a gorgeous tiger striped grain through it although the barrel length was longer that i wanted. They arranged for the 20" barrel to be cut down and threaded to 17" for me which is a job that i was initially nervous about with the workmanship is spot on. Really friendly and honest blokes and they've done me proud. I'll get some pics up of the stock.. its just what i was looking f
  17. Quality pics there mate... what a great experience, love to do walked up grouse sometime. Looks like i'll have to get the fitness up mind... I've shot driven grouse at the Bowes Estate once before and i was knackered just getting to the butt. ... and that was a soft walk as well
  18. Thanks lads for sorting me out with a fantastic rifle and doing such an amazing job on getting the barrel cut down. Really stoked... can't reccomend these guys highly enough.. really nice blokes and a great outfit.
  19. Very high quality optics... i've just put a Meopta Artemis 2100 7x50 on mine.. quality is cheeper in the long run
  20. Just having a quick butchers on ebay and saw this 'hunting knife' ... HO-LEE-SHIT.... hunting what Any suggestions please..
  21. Good old mums ... she may still have the receipt mate. May do better to ask her to send / taking it back and get the cash for it or have you already done the "FANTASTIC!... thanks very much... i really wanted one of those" little number. Someone will get a nice deal there
  22. Very nice bud Is that a MacMillan A4 Tactical stock... i like the marbling, what percentages of colour did you go for? Looks like a mean bit of kit and with nice groups like that you'll have a cracker! Keep us up to date with your exploits.
  23. Surely these breed x's are all just guides anyway with bad characters / workers cropping up no matter how good the lines are. As long as people are happy with their dog i think its bang out of order for someone to give it a slagging unless they know the individual dog itself (and even then its still out of order to knock another mans pride and joy)... mines a poodle / basset cross any day of the week
