You can buy reasonable digging tols at car boot sales very cheaply,all you have to do is leave them in the areas you expect to be having a dig.Then if you do get tugged you wont have any type of digging gear in your possesion cut down or not. It might not be practical in some areas, so credit to you Tarmac a good idea.

There is a difference between pest control and being a fair weather hunter.If anyone however famous kills in summer and calls it sport they are pricks simple as that.If you want sport in summer go fishing. As for hypocrasy chilli I remember you starting a thread about respect for quarry. Yes in summer Ime a keyboard hunter whats wrong with that. Any hunter worthy of the name should be able to(with a little imagination)get the rabbit control well sorted in the winter months.

There are probably a few chapters missing from the book you read [bANNED TEXT] Like the times he has bought in litters from outsiders and sold them(at inflated prices as his own lol strain). If you want a working terrier then you need to find one from an honest line of workers forget about fame and names generaly they will just add to the price tag.If its for showing then you will need to get one from parents that are doing well in the ring.But and quite a big but IMHO its very rarely the dog that gets judged its how famous or well known the person holding the leed is that wins the rosset

[ two of them are alive, we ll raise them, we do not have the end of the season, we have lots of foxes which make big damages on wild birds, rabbits.... and we have here lot of diseases here so this is the reason why we hunt all the year. i cut out that photo. sorry For genuine control reasons there is no argument,and it looks like all occupants of the earth were dealt with a proffesional aproach. I cant see how the killing of cubs could ever be described as sport,control yes sport no.jmo

Ive also had to deal with litters of cubs in the past.......couldnt take anything away from the terriers because they would find every last cub in the place.......during these pest controling tasks the usual banter craic would not be there......the task was a necessaty but not an enjoyable one it was a relief to get it done as quickly and profesionaly as possable.I might have to do it again i dont look forward to it and we definatly dont leave cubs to starve.......give me an early January adult fox dog or vixen anytime........but then January is probably to cold for some of these pricks that h

You might as well run the c**t out of it at lure chasing competitions,because it sure dont look like its going to be anygood for f**k all else.What is it a x of for 5 months old it looks like a midget of a lurcher. It might well of beaten adult dogs chasing a rag across some grass wouldnt mind seeing it against the same dogs across heavy plough.

Attack trained your f*****g saluki would take people off their horses,bike riders arent safe joggers get regularly bitten .If some poor f****r did get in your garden the only good thing is you wouldnt have to feed them next day.Apart from the german shepherd he would need at least 2 average sized burglars to satisfy his appetite. Most lurchers all you have to do is stick them on a chain that usualy turns them a bit nasty.

I would of thought the Labs would of adapted to the ferreting job with little trouble.marking warrens guarding nets etc,probably not the best for catching bolted rabbits though.Not just lurchers are of use as ferreting dogs loads of people use terriers,spaniels etc.

Size probably doesnt matter as much as some people would like us to think,talking rabbiting lurchers of course but if rabbits are your game then it is obvious that you can generaly feed and house a smaller type with less trouble than a bigger type.Probably a lot of the different tastes when it comes to size is more to do with working style.Again generaly IMO a smaller type will be more handy in the smaller hedged fields where for bigger more open spaces a dog with a bit more hight and stride might be just the thing.IF I was just after rabbits personaly something around the 23inch mark would b

Dont get me wrong here cause I fully understand pest control I have been doing it long enough. There are a lot of myths involved with terrier work,some swear by not letting a dog hunt rabbits etc.The only rabbits Ive dug to have been with terriers that are frustrated at sitting in the kennel all their lives.Ive bushed rabbits to lurchers with all my terriers from puppyhood it brings them on quicker and it gets them street(field) wise. At a young age gentle persuasion is usualy enough to get them used to the idea of hunting them on top but leaving them to ground,a terrier that leaves the real quarry to move on to a rabbit is probably lacking anyway wether its hunted rabbits legitimatly o
