I have done some ratting in the past but good places are getting harder to find and IMHO a mornings ratting cant compare to a dig.But it was nice to have an invite off another member for a mornings ratting and quite amusing to see ,what I would consider fairly hard foxing dogs,reactions to a new quarry .One of the other members dogs wont need feeding for a fortnight after constantly/ gorging itself on nests of pink rats :sick:

A decent Border dog (now gone) was a bit big for those realy tight earths, but one of my favourites.

To those that dig regularly (bolting doesnt count) what would you say is the smallest dog or bitch you have dug to successfully on a regular basis,I have always favoured the stronger digging dogs though others do like the smaller ones,the smallest terrier I have dug to was about 11 inches at the shoulder and weighed 16 pounds it wasnt my dog it did well just wondered what others experiances were ,cheers.

Got 1 or 2 more invites to attend to,then its feet up for the dogs terriers and lurcher a few evening strolls by the river a bit of bushing but nothing to strenuous.
