Good luck mate its allways a pain breeding your own I won't be doing it again for a very long time I'd rather buy in a well bred pup tbh.at least you've got a few peoples opinions on the bitch instead of just seeing it work a couple of times. Atb with them.

Not completely no, I only have one dog......he is a bully mixture........I can honestly say I put pups in with him when they are young, he has never shown any human or dog aggression.Do I let him mingle with the kids or be f****d about with by strangers ? No Do I let him run about the park where a 70lb dog may frighten people? No He comes in now and again for a fuss, but to be honest he ain't that interested in anybody else but me and dont really want to be f****d about with, that's the reason I don't let him around all and sundry because you can never quiet tell what a dog like that will do

I have personally seen a GSD under six months do an almost perfect "out". The man who owns this dog has a few all trained to an extremely high standard they are impeccable around his kids and friends of his but a slight hand signal and you would have 3 or 4 dogs hanging off you. I think some on this thread are getting mixed up with a properly trained protection dog and a house guard that barks and may bite.atb

Have a look at the pics of the lurcher it's a disgrace !!!

The brindle dutch herder type had a lot of time put into it that's what I'd call a protection dog absolute class. the Mali in the cage was more of a home guard I like Luis theroux very smart feller I think.

Not my cup of tea but credit to you a very well looked after dog huge head and a real intense look about him. Atb

just bought 2 No9's , and seem easy to keep sharp edge , don't know about getting wet though, are they bad when wet then .? The handle swells mate makes it awkward to get the blade out. Cheap useable knives though it doesn't matter if you misplace 1 or 2 a season.

Used them for years but annoying if they get wet there unuseable.

Dogs That Don't Make The Grade Or Jack.
fitchet replied to Dranny GLC's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
This season I had a bitch go given to me on a trial. Fast stocky with a good brain and mouth. She had only ever seen a couple of doubled up long ears in the lamp. Anyway I gradually entered it to most quarry and it got real good at tracking roe and muntjac so much so that by the end of the season it totally ignored rabbits. Ive never seen it before and I'll doubt I'll see it again but this dog still won't pick up rabbits on its own but will try them when out with other dogs. I rehomed her to someone who's out regular with me and she's keeping up her deer dropping habits but still won't pick ra -

Seen this trait in a few dogs not just coursing types can be a pain at times a good friend of mines dog when its on a kill I wouldn't trust another person to go near it (apart from its owner) it crouches over its kills hackles up and a mad look in its eyes. I got a pic of it but don't think its appropriate for this forum ... I've hallways liked him glad he's doing you proud looks like he could handle any terrain. Atb.

I like um I have 2 saluki hibryds dog n a bitch the dog will never be replaced by me been a true all rounder but his altitude can get him into trouble loves work no matter what work I give them every morning I can garuntee hell be bouncing and ready to go. On the odd time its injured it has chewed me kennals to splinters and has been the neighbours nightmare. Will pick fights with other dogs but when he was younger was more laid back. The bitch I have is a pleasure to own black n tan feathered strong good feet natural rietriver of anything obedient as hell but can hunt up too. But she is p

It could be through constantly being soaked and shivering there food off I've caught a few lately that weren't even worth feeding to the ferrets. A lot of warrens near me are still totally flooded and I've noticed there's more above ground in the day. Caught one yesterday that was heavy with mixy but I haven't seen any signs of it on this land all year.

White bitch allways catches my eye .... Fair play nice pics. Atb.

Cracking post 2.8 guy I've seen collie xs refuse to pick up rabbits but mark them with ferrets and run them to death on the lamp even grab them in nets but just wouldn't pick them up. Anymore stories of these types ? Atb

I am seriously thinking of a herding type as my next canine. Don't get me wrong I am over the moon with what I have but there's something about these brainy types that I miss. I also need something that can be worked in forestry/flinty ground with habit of regularity and have the bone and feet to forgive the odd knock.atb

This pup has the ingrediants to make true all rounder if your after a chancy pup look no further and best of all your hard earned money is helping a child instead of lining the pockets of an unscrupulous breeder. Atb.

Cattle Dog/heeler Types
fitchet replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
As soon as this old bull terrier has enough of life the next companion dog I want is a cattle dog type. I've had a couple of collies and crosses and get on well with there atitude and I'm sure it could be trained for a few different uses if reared correctly. -
A mate bought the CMW for a look in the classifieds I must admit it cuaght my eye too will be interesting to hear if it's genuine or not. Atb.

I do abit of work for a Muslim fella he has 2 rottwielers that are well looked after he said there considered unclean in there culture but even devout Muslims can keep them for guarding purposes infact I remember watching a program about soldiers in afghan and almost every compound they entered had yappy mongrel types.
