  1. Quite enjoy catching a trout or 2 a week for the dogs just gut em out and feed them as they are my lot love them.
  2. Fair play mate ive seen a couple of first crosses run the all seemed fast and determined and most seem good retrievers too. Atb
  3. Is this the dog that was hit by a car mate ?? Atb
  4. I was fairly lucky as I knew plenty of people who owned fowl already it was just a case of knocking up a few more pens for me really I bought in older birds but I waited till I saw something that really caught my eye. If you need more just let nature take its course one thing I would never do is by in eggs as like already been said you never know what your getting and I've seen a few people ripped off like this. Atb.
  5. A lot better than most attemps I've seen well done atb
  6. They haven't admitted anything at all mate as far as I know. Lot of young lads getting out of running dogs this year due to hassle from police these days even if you got permission.
  7. I cant belive they are locking lads up for just walking a dog and having a lamp. And locking you up for going equipped with a dog like you would with a screw driver to go grafting lol proper c**ts Funnily enough that's what it said on the charge sheet I saw going equipped with poaching equipment. Any body who doubts this have a look at the Newbury weekly news.
  8. A couple of lads I know quite well were arrested for walking along a road with a lamp and an 8th month old pup. I kid you not the way the police drove up it was like they were arresting a terrorist not a couple of teenagers. They've been back to court a couple of times and it's still not over. Worst bit is this was about 40 yards from there parents property and the field running alongside the road they were on they had full permission to be in !
  9. Sports tracker app comes in very handy dunno how accurate it is though .....
  10. Cheers for your help matey but I think I'll give him a week in an indoor pen to see if there's any improvement if there isn't I'll take the appropriate action to avoid further suffering. I tend not to put pics up on here of livestock its just not worth the risk. Cheers for your help though UK much appreciated. Atb
  11. On the rare occasions my ferrets get dry food they allways hide some before eating in the bedding areas even the odd rabbit and Pigeon get pulled into the bed boxes
  12. To be fair his perch is only about 3 ft of the floor and would it only affect one leg ? His pen is on sharp sand mate but he is let out into a bigger one during the day wich is grass. Cheers
  13. The base of its foot mate just before the toes no sighn of scratches or bruising just that greeny tinge and it bieng swollen it's only since last night he's stopped using it but the colour I've notice for a couple of days.
  14. Right I'm new to keeping fowl got a few different breeds though and know some people that have kept them for years. Over the last couple of days my 10 month old brazilian stags leg has had a green tinge to it but he's still been using it and going up to roost but when checked on by a friend apparently it wasn't using its leg at all and hadnt followed its hen to roost. Any ideas what it could be ?? None of my birds are tethered and are all kept in well made pens.
  15. Looks Cracking mate I'm new to keeping fowl knocked up a few pens that I was happy with until I clicked on this lol Atb.
  16. Nice vids mate dog looked abit stiff in its running though might be worth getting it checked over apart from that looked a nice little day out.
  17. Have to say I have a couple of strong stuff collars very good never have to worry about a keen dog getting loose. A mate has just bought a couple of collars from an eBay seller they look like complete shite when put next to the real deal. Why look elsewhere and try and save a couple of quid on cheap foreign copies when strong stuff gear is all you need for the dogs lifetime.
  18. I've ran thick woodlands with some succes you do need the right type of dog even then there's plenty of opportunity for it to go wrong had one killed in woodland but great sport only trouble I find is your more likely to lose track of dog/s and can take a while to track them down I normally pick a fence line or stream as I found the deer sometimes hesitate at these. You learn a lot about deer aswell IMO had a wise old doe walk less than five yards from me and slip through a dinner plate sized hole in some chain link fencing made my morning if I'm honest. Perhaps not the thing for a lot of
  19. TBH my favourite type of hunting is just with one dog that can work cover use its nose and got abit of speed about it but I do enjoy having a couple of well behaved terriers working to a sturdy runner whatever the quarry.
  20. Love slow worms there young are specially good looking are they the only lizard in Britain ? As I remember when I was younger seeing these tiny lizards with full sized legs Far too quick for us to catch.
  21. Looks good stuff mate good price too ....
  22. Get plenty of them around by me never had a dog bitten though they seem fairly lazy compared to grassnakes wich I often see when on my local carp water. Found these 2 under abit of tin last year amazing how they survive the cold.
  23. Just out of interest how can you say a genuine bull x is either a whippet or grey put to a bull why are so many out there crossing bull/greys to coursing dogs??
  24. One of the most enjoyable ways of hunting muntjac IMHO is a good scrubby woodland a a couple of terriers and a good keen sturdy lurcher that knows where to stand. The noise issue is one of the main reason I used to like hunting them in woodland in the day but sometimes it made it hard to pinpoint where the dog was. Had a few vet bills due to them often cutting very deep into the muscle but the good dogs usually find a way of subduing them with out too much fuss. There a lot more common then roe now in my local mooching spot but luckily bieng small deer you can fit a few in the boot and there v
