  1. 5am start on the bike before work get them home wash them down if it's a warm day then back out walking in the evening I make sure there's a good bit of water about so they can have a dip if need be. If it's real warm I take them to abit of chalk stream down the road just walking against the current is good excersise but watch out for glass sat on the bottom. Edited to add I don't do any of this to keep them running fit it's just daily excersise IMO rest is as important as fitness and summertime is a good time to let there body's recuperate from the previous seasons graft I will be upping

There isn't mate unfortunately only started taking pics when I got into the running dogs but by god I had some fun with those little dogs. For the first time in nearly a decade last winter I was without a terrier of some description and it definitely showed. Have you done much with your lad mate ?? And is he biddable of the lead or does he like to range ?? Atb

My sort of dog there mate bielieve it or not the "russels" I had as a kid were a similar stamp to that. Hope he goes well for you atb.
  4. Can you pm me details please mate
  5. Dunno what your talking about mate I've no interest in cropping ears or any of that bollox ive kept terriers that wernt docked And mine certainly won't be cropped im not paying £1500 for any dog mine and a mates are both coming off someone else who doesnt keep them for money or status.I'm only saying about the one I seen for sale as the heading to this topic is about price of pups. It took me well over a year to find the sort of person I'd be happy to buy a pup off and another year waiting for the pup.
  6. If you don't believe it ill send you his details ask him what he charges for cropped dobes you'll be shocked anyone pays it but seen a fair few people with dogs an there bought from him.
  7. There's a feller near me breeds shepherds Malis a proper dog dealer he good with the medical side of dogs though. Last time I was up there he brought out a cropped presa with a pinch collar on he said it was only 6 month but was an absolute monster he reckons he can sell them for upto 5k just for bieng cropped a lot of his dogs come from phillepines I asked him about alano espano he said you would be better off finding some Thai ridgeback breeders apparently there half the price but both similar I've never personally set eyes on one so I wouldn't know but may be worth a try. Me and a real good
  8. I agree mate. Lucky enough never had a dog stalk quarry but if it did It would piss me off there running dogs it's never those easy squatters that stick out in my mind when I'm on the way back from lamping it's allways those those runs where it could go either way. It would be different if I was lamping high numbers of educated rabbits though and I've seen dogs stalk daytime rabbits a couple of times not herding blooded dogs either. But then again most dogs of there owners are honest have faults and sometimes I guess you just have to make do with what you got I suppose.
  9. I did for a good while next door to me was a butcher and was bringing me back carrier bags full of meat for the dogs plus they were getting any game chuck outs. They looked ok on it tbh but the coursing dog didn't look his best on it he seemed to do better with complete mixed with beef or chicken but the others all looked well enough.
  10. Cheers having a look on eBay now did it take you very long to get confident with the kit or isit a lot easier to use than I'm thinking it'll be ?
  11. Flea and tick collars are allways on my dogs this time of year still get the odd one but just remove it.
  12. As above really what's is the easiest to use is there a uk supplier to stop me getting stung with import tax and are the collars tough enough for heavy use ?? Anybody's dog ever broke the collars ?? Also is there a way of using it so there isn't so much "evidence" of where the dogs have been ? Basically looking for some honest reviews on either unit by people that have abit of experiance with them as I just know a gps system would come in handy (I wish for one every time the dogs disappear into heavy cover just as the lights fading ) but I've got a feeling I'm missing something.
  13. What sort of dogs can be used ? Cracking chance id love to go if I had a suitable mutt.
  14. Must say been skimming through this thread last couple of days very informative and very helpfull making a start on a loft this evening or tommorrow morning keeps the mind occupied on these long summer days lol Atb.
  15. Forgot to add was serviced last year everything in good order very quiet and as already said very powerfull sensible offers welcome as that what I was offered for it before my mate got his tx200 and I know next to nothing about air guns. Cheers
  16. Got a good Diana mod 52 in .22 sat here nice gun solid powerfull mainly used for shooting rats and does the job no problem silencer scope and gun bag £300 Ono or would swap for a left handed pcp.
  17. Had a lurcher that would bite lumps out of the soil roots aswell luckily didn't use her for much ferreting the noise it made whilst waiting for the bolt due to the spoil in its throat lol. I wouldn't mind the dog digging if I only used ferrets occasionally or was on abit of ground wich didn't hold a lot.
  18. Cheers hm I been trying to find duckwings thread I remember it from a while back I agree no effort spared on that set-up and kept tidy n clean as it should be ...
  19. Hi all promised someone a pair of tumblers in exchange for some cagebirds but after getting hold of a mate who has them he's told me he don't keep pigeons anymore I've only ever had racers so after I've built a flight next is a loft for some tumblers. Does anyone on here know where I could source a few young birds or pairs ? And does anyone one here have much experienced with them ? I know plenty of dogmen chickenmen ect but don't know many who've kept tumblers I suppose it's the same as racers if you buy new stock only the offspring are Excercised ?? Anyway if anyone could help will trave
  20. Tried a lanyard around your neck mate ?
