  1. Might be able to help you out fri evening/sat morn if thats any good to you pal?
  2. If the houses` are a thousand yards away, I would not worry about it, get a decent moderator on it and crack on, I am happy to use the .243 300 yards from buildings at night, never had a problem, chances are the people in the houses wont hear a thing.
  3. I dont like paying for things I can make myself, I dont like paying for people to mend my car, so I do that myself, I reload my own rifle ammo too, but tying flies,NO I cant bring myself to do it, so buy them in, but if people dont want to make equipment, then fair enough, each to their own I say
  4. The .222 is a superb round, super accurate, easy to reload for, one of the best fox and roe/cwd/Muntjac rounds out there
  5. Steel no 3s are good for duck and geese, steel is good when driven fast, the new Eley lightning steel at 1650fps looks a good one to try if you can get it, if your pocket will stretch to it tungsten matrix, and heavy shot are both superb, and I have killed some good high duck and geese with it, and cant tell any difference between these and lead, but they are hard on the wallet.
  6. Well done I think you took the correct approach, any repeat performances, film them, and make a point of filming your guns in slips, and saying you are not removing them, then the w***ers cant accuse you of threatening them.
  7. I agree, I try to make everything I can, and get pleasure from doing it, as I see it as being a part of falconry itself, but I have to say the quality I have seen from A. Clarke is superb, the man does make some very high quality items, I bought a leather pad lure from him a couple of years back, and the craftmanship shines through, it has lasted even with a redtail with feet like t rex grabbing it lol.
  8. Go for the prostaff, 3-9x50, get the bdc reticule, go on the Nikon site and download the print off with your load/bullet, they are a brilliant scope, I have one on the .243 and unless I was in the states shooting 500yard prairie dogs, more mag is not needed, for foxes and deer out to 300 yards and beyond
  9. Reloading manuals, and firearms history type books will probably be the best source of the kind of information you are looking for, or just do a search for a specific calibre you require information about.
  10. I think old eustas does ok not as daft as he looks lol and good on him http://www.turtleislandpreserve.com/visit/carriage Too bloody right, owns a nice cabin and 200 acres of woodland, lives a life of his own choosing and relies on himself, yea real pudding that guy!
  11. A very good idea for people without permissions on here, but who own a shotgun, is to join a wildfowling club, its cheap and you will get some great sport, and get to know other shooters, this is a step in the right direction, instead of coming on asking for permission.
  12. What kind of bigger game? And what sort of "hunting" trips are you considering?
  13. http://www.ballisticstudies.com/Knowledgebase.html Have a look here some good information, what calibre have you applied for?
  14. If you can get it try some Eley lightning steel, 1650 fps, hits like a train, Heavy shot and tungsten matrix are very good too but as ss says expensive, DO NOT USE BISMOUTH IT IS SH**E.
  15. Never tried a backpack. and I dont like leg mounts, to be honest I have been lucky and never lost a deck due to tailmounting, this will be the first time I try crimping, just going to have the transmitter on, no bell on the tail, so as not to have too much weight on the one feather, just have a leg bell on him this year.
  16. Anyone who votes for any of this shower of sh**e is a brainwashed to***r. Fu**in traitors the lot of them.
  17. My redtail has about 3 inches of a couple of deck feathers to come down, then he is done it does not seem to make any difference to his temperament whatever weight he is at, even fat as he is now he jumps straight onto the glove, the only difference I notice is he is a bit more wary and skittish when he is out of his mews, just made him some new anklets, and going to try a crimp on tail mount this year instead of a plectrum type, cant wait to get him out, going to try for a lot of tree rats this season, there is something about squirrel hawking that really appeals to me, and hopefully the haw
  18. I am afraid the only alternative will be war sadly.
  19. Get some gear and I promise you wont look back, the difference between well tailored homeloads and ppu will startle you
  20. Enjoy you wont go wrong with that set up, just need to get the reloading gear now
  21. At the end of the day it it is this simple, choose your side of the fence, because war is inevitable, and when it comes, and come it will, they will see how the English fight, go back or perish
  22. Thankfully mate you are very wrong, there are millions with the stomach, and slowly they are waking up
