    Agree with all the above, and if you are going to have a .22 hornet the 527 is the number one choice, a mate of mine has a .222 and it is very accurate, the .22-250 will be good, you cant go wrong with a CZ.

    Get yourself a CZ 527 mate, the build quality is better, and you wont have to spend a fortune on aftermarket bits to upgrade it like you will with a Remington, I would be cautious about buying a used .22-250 unless I was sure of its history and I trusted the seller, you would be much better buying a new one, if your funds can stretch to it, the Zastava that Shropshire Dan has are very good rifles, and not expensive new, and in common with the CZ are built on a mini Mauser action.

    Total bullsh*t they are lead and will not harm the rifling in any way, the Federal ones you have with the crimped ends are ok for very close range rat shooting, on one of my local permissions the farmer uses them frequently to shoot rats in his barns and I have watched him use them, they are quite effective at around 10 yards, I cant imagine them being much use any further, oh and take the moderator off, or it will be full of shot and may even be damaged, and if you have a semi auto, you will have to single load them as they wont cycle the action.

    Depends on how desperate the landowner is to get the rabbits under control, if it was me I would go with the hmr and start shooting them, remember, use it or lose it! Could you not take a trusted friend along, who has a .22? You could make a big dent in numbers with the hmr, before they wise up.
