  1. i sent my cert away for change of address a few weeks ago(gave it to the feo on his visit, and asked him what the crack is when its away, and was told " make sure you have enough ammunition to tide you over for a couple of weeks" this to me means you can carry on using the firearm? if no "chit in lou" is given then what are we supposed to do?) the feo is obviously happy with you not having a cert with you,the police know you have the cert and presumably that its away for modification (by monday). a waste of tax payers money,do they not know that the roads need repairing?????????????????
  2. the firearm is not unlicenced, you have the licence. call the feo and ask him what the hell is going on bud. your name and address will have been enough to see you have the right to possess firearms(indeed the veh reg was enough to send an "aru"). the boys will be looking to get the overtime in by the looks of things. a waste of money the lot of them.
  3. charlie hunter, what utter bull. i'm sure alot of us will gladly keep our dogs indoors and thats a choice we make. just popping up with a comment(abolutely useless to the thread at that) without any input? go on then bud tell us all why we are doing it wrong? why should all dogs be kept in kennels?
  4. like the dogs bud gnomes are another matter waidmann
  5. mine get the meat in the morning and a bowl of mixer is in the kitchen where they help themselves, mornings they have a belly afternoons its gone. if i feel they are putting weight on i'll restrict them.never had a problem to date with any of my dogs. i find they are less protective with food and game if fed this way,but that might not affect others dogs. atb
  6. i hate it when the womans perspective is brought up(and makes sense) if the mrs said the dog or me then i'd be gone(its her house ).its a bummer but thats the way it is,the dogs give me a lot of pleasure and nowhere near as much grief, are mostly better company(allthough they fart more),cost me less to keep ................................... what the hell am i still doing here???
  7. electrolyte are body own salts. you should be able to get them from a chemists under the name "dylorhate" or something like that. we used to use it when training very hard in warm weather. atb
  8. the new members is at the begginning of the forums st the top. i can't upload pics either bud,i use a photobucket link. type in "photo bucket" this will take you to the site, start a new account and upload the pics.then you can cut and paste the link to here. its easy when you have pulled your hair out for a hour or so waidmann
  9. the only tip i can give is get a dark coloured dog(they all lose the hair) as you don't see it so bad. i have a prt who you would think is bald by the ammount of hair in the car and tumble dryer. he has spent so much time in the brambles his coat is now smooth, still got hair all over though
  10. similar team to mine,we have a prt, staffy and a bull x. my sofa looks like that(full of tired mutt) most afternoons untill the long one gets too warm and buggers off if i lie down on the sofa then its a case of"pile on he won't mind" and i don't really(just when the flatulence is very bad, meaning the canine fraternity ). good looking dogs
  11. as above mate, get into them untill they get moving. often they just look at a map. the feo will be the one to get hold of and explain the problem to. my ticket was open from the start as i have lots of fields and small holdings as well as "big" parcels of land. if they won't move quick then ask the land owner to call the feo and explain that the problem needs sorting as he can't fullfill his pest controll(damage to crop, neighbors complaining etc etc). good luck
  12. i don't think you can say that people are WRONG when it comes to this subject, the breeding season seems to be very fluid in diffrent areas. as i said in my reply earlier in the thread there have been reports as early as SEPTEMBER of foxes tied above ground being hunted up by dogs. this does not fit into our knowledge of the foxes seasons but i do not doubt it being true.(i have also not seen any above ground yet). as with alot of things "exceptions prove rules". nothing is set in stone, has nobody noticed the difference in developement of fox cubs(within and from different litters) during the
  13. some good tips there. if he won't come to the call then try a different one bud(the downloads on the net are not bad at all,i find them not loud enough with my phone). the very best of luck
  14. smells "a wee bit fishy" to me chaps
  15. i have never seen one work but they look quick
  16. misplaced agression bud, a real bummer but if it has gone this far then probably for the best. does no body with no kids and aot of understanding need a dog??????????????????????????
  17. a five round group is the military norm, all measurments are taken from these.(zero/capability of the shooter/sniper) i have had the pleasure of being trained by the "infantry" of our world beating army as a rifleman and representing them at bisley. a five round group is the first indication of ability and capability(rifle and marksman) and anything less is a compromise. anything more a waste of ammunition.
  18. when i moved back to the uk i sold my dogs( a teckel, two prt bitches and my lab x pointer).it gutted me.even though they went to mates for puppy prices. i had no permission over here and could not have kept them as pets(they were not the types ). there are good dogs sold for genuine reasons but i think the majority are not. i have two here now which i would not sell even though i could well do with the money(who couldn't at the moment). not for love nor money! waidmann
  19. i would read the pinned section bud
  20. he seems to be enjoying that a nice looking dog is he a russel/beagle?
  21. was she wormed before mating?how far is she now? i'm not sure which medications can be used when in pup but there is bound to be something the vet can give you atb
  22. let her trail the lead around the house/garden (under supervision of course) she will get used to it being there.then start taking the lead and leading her to treats etc. she is only10 weeks bud so still very young yet, take your time with it and make it fun waidmann
  23. if he is coming during the day and you can sit and wait for him then ok. can you leave a light on over night even better you will not need to call untill he gets quite close.he will get used to the light being on and make easy shooting(poss better with a rifle of suitable caliber,i'm sure someone can help you out near you). they will mostly "run in" on a couple of "passes" or paths, this may be the best way to snare him. he may have an earth nearby where you can get to him with a terrier(bearing in mind he may be with a vixen and cubs) so digging will probably be the way forward. i
  24. try a trailing lead( it will make him feel more under controll and make him easier to get hold of just by standing on it). basic obiedience is the key here, repetition of basic commands(with reward) will become automatic responses. consequence is that sit/down etc mean exactly that, you can call him to you and treat as a retrieve( no matter how skanky and horrible the item may be ) get all excited and make a fuss of him for bringing it and take it off him in the usual manner( maybe just with the finger tips if its real nasty ). reward him and all is good. sounds easy but it can be hard
  25. if the dog is "dropping short" then walk backwards away from him and when he comes close lower yourself to his level(less threatening if not leaning forwards) even get down on your knees and talk to him in your best girlie voice(high pitched and excited). normally better done out of the way of onlookers you may look a tool but the dogs get what is happening(98% of their communication happens through body language, making your frustration VERY visable to the pup, this is what is pushing him back). when he gets to you all excited(because you are about to wet yourself in his eyes) softly
