  1. Sorry to hear that mate. Like others have said always hard to lose a family favourite. Atb.
  2. Plenty sand holes up here that where originally dug by foxes according to the old timers. Problem now is they are being taken over by badgers weve checked so many this year that once only ever held fox to find badgers have taken over and starting there excavating.
  3. Anyone got any planned matings/pups this spring? looking for new stock to add to our depleted pack. we are short on terriers....well fact is we short on hounds and terriers, just the way things have panned out over the last couple of seasons. But terriers is what i am personaly looking for, so if any of you lads are breeding anything worth raising up, not looking for scatter bred pups but something of sound breeding, and may have a surplas pup or two then drop me a pm, i will travel anywhere in uk or Ireland. Before anyone asks, no the few lads i personally know who keep decent terriers are
  4. Sounds like danny the ch champion of the world Just went on amazon and orderd a copy for my 9 year old lad....but i will probably read it again first..
  5. hmmmmmm cant remember the name of it now....story of a poacher who got a bag full of raisins and sat up all night putting a little slit in them and then a tiny bit of a sleeping pill and a stich to close it....then went out and scattered them through the woods..returned and lifted loads of sleeping phesants from where they slept...lol...probably bullshit but as a kid i wanted to be that guy.
  6. goes on everywhere you go, came across many an open dig just abandoned. Thing i find worse than not backfilling(which is bad enough) is finding places that have been trenched in from the entrance and the place just fckin destroyed.....and some of these have been done by so called experienced terriermen who despite years of fox hunting clearly havnt got a fckin clue!
  7. This is the first I have heard about this, out with local hunt today when the huntsman asked me if I had had my dogs chipped yet? Then explained to me that as of 6th April this is now a legal requirment for all dogs in UK (he has to get the whole pack done!)....so I google it back home and it seems to be true. basically if you dont do it and for some reason, police, dog warden etc scan your dog and no chip you will be served with an enforcment notice giving you 21 days to chip dog/s if you dont comply then you get a £500 fine. more bullshit legislation.
  8. hes basically telling you that you have to be a donator to advertise mate. it only costs a fiver.
  9. Ive one here 3/4 whip 1/4 beddy heres about 6 and half now, 22" I like him hes been one of the most biddable wee dogs Ive owned never had to train him really, just gave commands and he did it, (wish they were all that easy) hes an ok lamp dog, and a great general moocher. Works well in cover and on the hillside and like others have said lacks that top gear but makes up for it with his relentless drive and stamina. hes caught us plenty rabbits and a few other things. Ive probably posted these pics before but here he is.
  10. something a bit special that, its very captivating. never been really bothered about owning taxidermy before despite admiring plenty Ive seen but that is one I would like to have.

  14. Thought I would put this up for lads looking for meds, vaccines etc. The website is nothing to do with me but I have made several purchases from them and they are very cheap and reliable with a fast delivery. Im not posting the web address on the public forum as I don't want the wrong sort getting on to it. So If anyone wants it pm me and I will point you in right direction.
  15. Im all for us getting out but dont think it will happen....people too scared of change. Government calls in favours from large companies and banks etc getting them all on the bandwagon to spout doom and gloom if we get out just like they did with scottish referendum.
  16. out first light, wak for miles, my older brother used to take me to all asorts of wonderful places looking for rats, scrap yards, sewage works etc, the weapons where rocks and sticks. back home for tea no one was worried you had been out all day. later on we got gat guns and if we found no rats etc to shoot at then we would have a wee war and shoot each other, stung a bit but rarely broke the skin. Not really hunting, just kids growing up and messing around. Later on little folding 410s great wee guns for taking a few pheasant, didnt shoot each other with them tho!
  17. work offshore , Rope Access Supervisor, blasting and painting. 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. been doing it for past 10 years. pays the bills and i live for the time off. Downside is offshore full of backstabbing two taced cock sucking rats. worse than a sewing circle for gossip and liers and bullshitters. still, when i land back onshore i leave it all behind for 2 whole weeks...bliss
  18. Had a Legacy Outback 4x4 estate for a while, heavy on petrol, good on fields, very roomy, great up and down motorway, very comfortable, but like i says, a thirsty beast when you put your foot down.
  19. I bought one on the facebook, not used in anger yet but seems a decent bit of kit. beats having half a dozen differnet types hanging round you neck.

Yes If I can find a 1/2 or 3/4 X or even a fell hound its self....but it's difficult, It would be nice to go back in with another fell hound/grey in the future for sure to keep the line going. They come up mate, a friend of mine uses some with 1/8th and some with 1/4 hound runs them like a small fell pack absolutely incredible to see, hunt up for miles on there own. There was a litter in North Wales only last month, 1/2 hound x 1/4bull 1/4 grey. They was only 150
