Anyone??? I really need to get the lurcher to a decent vet that understands knocked up toes ( local vet is useless) If no one is available that far north mate, i can only recommend you take the time to drive south down the M6, to Paul Evans in Oldham. He's as good as you can get. Thanks Bosun, If things dont improve i will make the journey.

And some might say Pat Patrick, was also one of the all time biggest dog peddlers and sold more than anyone else ever in the game. Yep he was but that don't change the facts he bred top class dogs. Yes I know what your saying but if you breed that many and some go to the right people then surely you going to get some good uns. I wonder how many good dogs came off his yard in comparison to how many pups he sold....

Without wishing to sound unkind the bloke sounds like a f****n idiot !.....So he takes an exceptionally game dog to its death, remarkably gets the dog going again..............and then thinks i know lets go back and scratch him again just to make sure !!! " IF " its a true story.....animals dying and then coming back to life are not exactly every day occurences are they so i hardly think it alters the term dead game The Rebel may have been many things but he knew his shit about the dogs that's for sure. Ricky spent a lot of time and money rolling testing and matching his dogs, and

Legal Implications Of Cats In My Garden
Dunkanon replied to Matthew Phillips's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Are you sure.....had this happen, wife walking terriers, cat jumps up terrier grabs it fight ensues, cat gets killed. Wife being far too honest tells the cat owners what happened and apologises says if was 50/50 the cat actually wanted a row and approached the terrier....they went nuts and called police, police says cats are basically feral and no law had been broken. end of story. had other incident. terrier got loose from yard one time went up lane into neighbours garden killed there cat. police came, advised us too keep the dogs more secure. No charges at all. the most we could of been In -
Just history mate.

This is my own simplistic take on it, selectively breeding from animals that proved game in contest...obviously you have to start somewhere...so lets say couple animals fought and the gamest of the two was bred from..and the offspring where fought and the best/gamest where bred from ...and so on.....and few hundred years later we start to get game dogs.....I don't think its that complicated to be honest.

A lot are cossed up with neilis blood. It was a successful cross for some people.

If gameness could be truly be bred for then there would be no curs. But I know one thing if I was into such things if I had the option of owning a hard biting cur with loads of ability or a super game dog with no ability and a weak bite I'd take the cur all day long.Yes has a performance dog but would you choose that hard biting cur to start your breeding program? I'd rather keep a cotton mouthed wrestler of a dog 1xGL...than knowingly feed a dog with one drop of cur blood in Just for debate purposes ill ask why? If every dog has it in it to quit. And curs can produce. Do you think gameness i

Sheep Killers.. Shoot Them Or School Them
Dunkanon replied to Landrace's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
You know Ive never really gave that much thought regarding the difference in sheep hill/fell/lowland. But I think you are right there Fuji, it must be the scent of them. -
Sheep Killers.. Shoot Them Or School Them
Dunkanon replied to Landrace's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Fair points Jigsaw/Fuji....but Im referring to lurchers that work sheep country. If a dog as in a fen dog is never going to encounter a sheep out doing its job then its not a problem. But if it was in sheep country then it would be a liability if it fancied lamp chops....I would bet that it would either be passed on or PTS soon enough if it was pulling wool as well as longears. I guess a lot of it is down to choice, I wont keep a lurcher who thinks sheep are fair game, and Im not talking about a dog that has a daft moment and runs about the sheep and does no harm....that can be curbed, bu -
Sheep Killers.. Shoot Them Or School Them
Dunkanon replied to Landrace's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I agree in principle with what you say, however my thinking is a dog killing sheep shouldn't be alive to get bred from, if you was lining your bitch and the choice of two stud dogs of equal ability and of breeding you liked was available but one of the dogs had lost the head on a couple of occasions and killed sheep which stud would you choose and why? -
