  2. My misses once said to me , you think more of them dogs and ferrets than you do of me, my reply was, i think more of the league against cruel sports than i do of you, that went down like a lead balloon. Brian
  3. And unless they grant us permission we'd all be f**ked wouldn't we.... Most of them gain nothing by letting lads in to hunt and have everything to loose if you have an accident..... Lets not forget the main thing needed to work any dog....farmers and Land!!! Totally true and that is why it is irresponsible to keep a stock worrier, even passing them on is stupid, a good dog man would not want his name tarnished by passing on a problem to some one else. All dogs should be 100% stock steady.
  4. Can i take 2, got a wad of cash burning a hole in my arse pocket
  5. They are not here!!! You have to be careful when skinning them as they carry rabies, they also suffer badly with distemper, no one eats them as far as i know [someone will probably disagree], some years the pelts fetch good money, i have a couple hanging in the shed that i brought back from canada.
  6. THEY DOO ONE THEYLL DO IT AGAIN! I never said it wouldn't mate... I meant if the dog did everything and more that you wanted from a lurcher but started killing sheep, would you PTs? Most definitely PTS, once farmers find out that you have dogs that are keen on mutton you will lose every scrap of permission, its totally irresponsible to keep on a sheep killer, no mater how good the dog, i know because i have been there.
  7. Jigsaw, sorry but i think that dog is far beyond a shock collar, hope i am wrong and good luck, i think your going to need it
  8. every single dog that has been bred is a potential sheep, chicken, stock killer, it is our job as pack leader, owner, boss etc to train and school a pup so as it knows what it cant chase, this should be done long before its allowed on wild game, this in my opinion as dog men is our responsibility and no way would i keep a sheep killer or chaser, there is only one place for them and that is under the sod. where i live it is all sheep farms, and we also have Herdwicks these live out on the fells and live more like wild goats, they smell and look different to other sheep, they also hide in t
  9. Brilliant game, before the game i thought we would struggle to beat the welsh on their turf with the injury's we had, well done the LADS. SWING LOW SWEET CHARIOT!!!!
  10. My mate over in canada had a terrier that caught coon hound paralysis,it was a John Cowan dog that i took over for him, he draged it around in a little cart for 5 weeks, drip feeding it and wiping its arse , it took about 5 months for it to recover properly, most of the dog lads put their dogs down if they get it, because most dont survive and the vet bills are astronomical,so the vets dont get to find out a lot about it. Hunted a lot of coon over there with lurchers, terriers and plott and walker hounds, great fun and they can fight like fck.
  11. This will probably wind a few up ; but most of what i see around here with bulls, is a liability on one end of the lead and a idiot on the other, i am not saying they are all like that and i have seen some decent ones graft, but i seen beddy x greyhound do the same job,
  12. Thats why i had to travel 3 hours to find what i wanted, personally i would not have one given.

  14. Professional users will have to provide evidence of their competence,eg by holding theRSPH/ BPCA level 2 award to suppliers before they can purchase these products, grandfather rites will no longer apply. i dont agree with it, especially when Joe Bloggs down the road can do what he wants, but that is the way its going to be. Brian

Great bloke, salt of the earth Brian

Jst been out and tried mine for the first time, at first i thought it was going to be a pain in the arse 2 handed operation, but after a bit i got the hang of using it 1 handed, keep it switched on and turn it up on the dial, {it could do with a off on the dial], beam is quite wide, but very long, probably 7 to 8 hundred yards. It seems a usefull bit of kit, time will tell, came home with a couple of bunnies. test it on a decent night and see how long it lasts. Brian
