    At first site i know that this may not seem to have anything to do with pest control, but the first one of these i ever made was to stop a problem with Carpet beetles and bird mites,an old farmhouse was having a serious problem with them and i traced them back to jackdaw nests in a small roof space, but in the same space were barn owls so i could not block off the entrance, i put up one of these boxes next to the entrance for a year until the owls started to use it then blocked off the entrance ,following spring they fledged 2 young,obviously then i cleared out old nests and applied insecticid

    A mate of mine has his own saw mill,so when i need some boards, i just give him a shout,[lucky really]. I love scrating and making things,especially when you can use them for work, i spend hours in the sulking shed, today i was making some Barn owl boxes for a customer, i will take some pics tomorrow when its daylight and put them up, Brian

    I had a bedlington whippet dog a while back,21 inch, not a all rounder , but it killed a load of foxes, and probably a thousand rats, hardest dog ive ever owned,trouble was he just smashed rabbits to bits, he died in his bed at 18 yrs old,

    9 weeks old, bedlington/ whippet x greyhound dam collie x grehound sire, got her on sunday from a lad near Birmingham, they were advertised in CMW. very pleased with her, very forward for her age and nowt seems to phase her

    I was brought up only a few hundred yards from the Coniston kennels, could see them from the bedroom window, allways plenty of hound music especially at feeding time,Anthony Chappie Chapman hunted them then,after him Chris Ogilvy. I dont seem to find time to go hunting now, i have only been once in the last 2 seasons, but you cant do every thing or be in 2 places at once. Brian

    Wilson bowe is sang by Paul Edgar,he whipped in for the Windermere harriers under the great Anthony Barker, sadly Anthony and the harriers gone. You struggle now to get a sing song going,a lot of pubs dont want it and there are not many folk are willing to learn and have ago at a song. I remember the world cup, watched it at the keepers house in Weardale after a days shooting and a night out for his 40th, what a weekend that was. Brian

    I joined for a year once and when i looked on the website, they had advertised my area as Westmorland,[a county that hasn't existed for over 25 years] and when i pulled them about it they would not do anything about it, found out later, his mate worked the same areas as me,Tossers. Brian

    Does anybody know how to stop unwanted adds when i am reading these forums, i have the RSPB add coming up on the top of the page, i do not want it as they piss in the same pot as the league against cruel sports. I also have the cat protection whatever, and i dont want them neither i hate frigging cats, ironic really when you way up the damage cats do to birds, anyone know what to do?? cheers Brian
