  1. The only way to be sure it's still in proof is have it proofed! Military weapons were proofed to well beyond civvy standards, since they were likely to fire many more rounds than any sporting gun, so unless you have reason to suspect someone has been putting wildcats through it I wouldn't worry. Keep to mil spec ammo and you should have no problems. As to kick - are you serious? A .303 Lee-Enfield is right on the edge of maximum recoil for a shoulder fired weapon. Google "recoil chuck hawkes" and you will see that only the 30-06 was heavier. I owned a Mk IV and I could'nt hit a damn thing fir
  2. PM it to Shotgun Sniper! Ric
  3. SGS the bloke on the second video looks like a serious risk to children under the age of consent. I knew somebody on here would like him ..... WOW! Are these the American gun owners that you say would beat the American military? The majority of our military personell own gun's either before or after their service... And I never said they would beat the American military . I said that the American Military would turn against any UN/NWO attempt to enforce gun confiscation or any other socialistic police action against Americans....The American soldier is formost a citizen

  6. Great White Hunter had a really disastrous safari, nothing til the last day when finally got a lion. Embarrassing bit was, it was running away whan he shot it. When he got it home he mounted the back half on the wall. It was a fitting memento of the whole trip. A real CatAssTrophy. Ric
  7. Jack - I had to take temporary withdrawal on medical grounds ao I restart year three in October. I'm reading Philosophy and Cognitive Science at Sussex. Ric
  8. I didn't realise Border were making .204 barrels now. When I last checked they only listed the Archer button rifled barrels. Needless to say, I'll go for the Border cut rifling. Ric
  9. A-a-a-rgh! If they are offering a version to take a Remi 700 action then guess what I want for my .204! Hoo boy! Remi 700 action blueprinted from new, Jewell trigger, 26" Archer full floating barrel, button rifled, heavy profile, fluted stainless, NightForce 8 x 32 on an AI single rail . . . Dribble dribble dribble! Let me at it! Ric
  10. Now you take off into the veldt with your Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a Weatherby .358 and bring back a full grown lion and I will give you respect. FFS the "guide" was backing up the "hunter" with a bloody big gun. What a hero. NOT. Ric
  11. Way up surry we thought you was did. That first year is so much FUN! Sex, drugs, sex, rock'n'roll, sex, alcohol, sex. Have a great summer and remember that next year the graft starts! I'm third year so I know! Just don't give up the sex! ATB Ric
  12. Could you have your own cabinet, keys only held by you, round your mate's gaff? Ric
  13. Well Holy Fucken Sh*t. Mate of mine has a Hayabusa. Vance & Hines zorst, K&N, Full Dyno, nitrous, single skin panels. I thought he was a mad b'staard but you make him seem normal. Respect bro! Ric.
  14. Me dad used to say "Money can't buy happiness but at least it enables you to be miserable in comfort." Chimp - Thanks. It's a bit of a downer but I'll get there. Ric
  15. Letter in the Guardian (!) t'other day. If the fur on a rabbit's ears is soft and gentle, roast the critter with sage and onion. If the fur is stiff and bristly, pie or stew. If it's going bald, ferret food. Makes sense to me! Ric
  16. I think it ties in with my thread about "5.56 up to the job?" At the ranges in Afghanistan, no it isn't. It never was a long range round, and the Forces need to adopt either a modern version of the 7.62 x 51 or, as has been said, a 6.5 like the "Grendel" We shall see. Ric.
  17. That the cataract operations I am having now work out ok and I can get back in the field. Ric

  20. Fair comment. Still worth looking round the shops, get an idea of what would suit you then check out the 2/h market. Remember a lot of bikes are post-coded so if it's dirt cheap it's nicked! Ric.
  21. You need a "semi", sprung forks, hardtail, not a full springer. Have a look in Halfords. They used to sell really crap bikes but they have some decent gear in now. Ric
  22. The little fevvered fughpigs couldn't arf shift. It was the Dykes rings made the difference. Ahem. Ric.
  23. I suspect that all FLOs are going to be dead leary for a while. Hard to blame them if so. Ric
