Too many to list, honestly, but one of them is shooting.
  1. I fancy getting a double rifle for sport abroad, but also in a caliber that can be used in the UK. I was thinking of the .375, however, alot of people do struggle in getting this caliber for UK use. The 9x3x74R is slightly smaller than .375, but is not listed as a dangerous game caliber. It's also very popular on the continent for wild boar. I have acces to Red, Sika and Fallow, and maybe the odd boar up in Somerset. I also hope to use it in the States after feral hogs. A buddy of mine uses his .470 on them and says it's great fun! Thanks
  2. There is a living to me made if you can source land for deer stalking. My friend rents stalking land and takes people shooting on it. He makes a decent living. Do pest control for farmers and landowners in return for stalking. People also make bookings for fox shooting with my mate whic can rung from about £70 a night. Invest in yourself and get some deer stalking and game preperation qualifications under your belt firt, then build up a good reputation. Hope this helps!
  3. Well, I've fallen out with the owner of my premission due to him charging me ridiclous rates in order to shoot vermin. He said he's going to now phone my FLO and have the land removed from my FAC! Will this now mean I'll loose my FAC unless I find new ground quickly? Thanks
  4. Hi guys, I really not liking the trigger on my CZ Varmint. There is just too much creep and it's also very unpredictable. I've searched everywhere for a Brooks trigger kit or something similiar, but to no avail. I have a great Rekord trigger on my Wheirauch air rifle and was wondering if it's possible to switch the units over? Thanks!
  5. Hi guys, I'm in need of one of those cleaning rods for the HMR and need to know which makes are good and which are crap. The Bisely one comes at a decent price. I have all the solvents and oils stuff already, so I just need the rod. Cheers
  6. My FLO wouldn't even check the land though. Should I speak to BASC?
  7. The land isn't all visible from the land as it's all on a big slope. I applied for the .17HMR and sec 1 airgun.
  8. I've just had some land turned down because it was deemed to be too small by my FLO and didn't meet the 30 acre minimum "requirment". Having just spoken to the landowner, I've been informed that my FLO didn't even bother checking the land, just said it it was below 30 acres and went home without even leaving the kitchen. I've since found some more land and I'm still hoping to get my FAC, however I've never heard of a 30 acre minimum and I'm pretty peeved she didn't even bother to check the land. As soon as my FAC comes through I'm going to make a formal complaint against my FLO and get the
  9. Isn't it illegal in the UK to use Rimfire target Ammo for hunting , Solid bullet The law require you use expanding ammo for deer only. Use what you like on vermin.
  10. Hi mat, Can you use shooting sticks with a spring rifle?
  11. Any .22 caliber bullet, hollow point or not, that is travelling at 1000fps will destroy a rabbits heart/lungs with ease.
  12. Nearly all target ammo I can think of is subsonic. In fact I don't think there is any target ammo in production that is supersonic. http://www.eley.co.uk/ammunition/products/match.aspx
  13. Good for you, mate. I'm still waiting for mine and I applied 5 months ago. My FLO is the type that needs to be pushed to get anything done, and is not clued up on the FAC process at all.
  14. A 40 grain .22 caliber bullet travelling at just over 1000fps will kill any rabbit no problem, head or chest shot.
  15. I know plenty of people that now only use target ammo for hunting. It's a bit more expensive, however it's far more consistent and kills clean. When you hunt you're not firing off hundreds of shots so an extra few £'s ins't that big a deal. Try some Eley Match and use the Winchester brand for plinking/target.
