  1. just about to buy my 3rd subaru forester. As an all round vehicle i've never had anything better.
  2. fed this years ago to a staff. bad breath, and it sh*t more out than it was fed. there's better stuff out there
  3. snifferboy has a litter of beddy whippet pups due . south west though
  4. i have a lazerlite and lithium battery, this plr500 and a couple of gun lights for the rifle all from cluson. i can't fault their stuff. i dont have any gear from any other maker the plr500 comes with a red filter too and a car charger. cant go wrong for 45 notes
  5. give it a go mate , but when you stop putting down will they be back, is it a problem you cant stop the trick is to keep putting it down till its not eaten. most folk just put a bit down and think thats it. a 2 1/2kg tub of blocks should be about 25 notes
  6. use a bait station to keep it covered and difenacome poison blocks from your local farmers merchant
  7. saluki blood's not for me ( as i dont need it) but it's undeniable what a dash of saluki can bring to a lurcher. Though i'd like to bet that over half the working lurchers in this country at the minute would have saluki or bull blood in em and you wouldn't know with a lot of em. i've seen lurcher pups advertised that have more dogs in their make up than the E numbers in a bottle of fizzy pop. and i've also seen litters throwing such mixed sizes its a lottery as to what you'll end up with. they're just lurchers is all
  8. i think its all subjective. lads say their dog is fit when its back in order after a summer layoff and a lot of works been put in to get them back into condition. only repeated working will get them truly fit from there. as for recovery rate, a 10 second run is easier to recover from than a 1 minute run so thats different too. we all know when our dogs are in form.
  9. always found dogs more headstrong and bitches a little more biddable
  10. not ried the 25w one but i have used a plr500. it has a real tight spot and a really good range. i'd say the range is as good as my lazerlite with a 9amp lithium.
  11. had a whippet grey many years ago and now running a 3/4 collie grey. like chalk and cheese. collie brings smarts but the associated issues with that. if i had to choose it would be the whippet grey but only from a working whippet
  12. I've had a .177 ultra SE for about 6 months now in the single shot. stunningly accurate and i've taken rabbits out to 60 yards or so. can't see the reason to consider anything else considering the price of the ultra. try one , you won't pick your other rifles up again.
  13. Let me know what the beamis like mate ie distance, spot, tightness, whiteness etc. just bought mine ross. if i can get out tonight i will if not tomorrow. i'll take my lazerlite as a comparison. rob hey ross. wont get out tonight but just done a quick comparison against my lazerlte with a supposed 1000m beam. the long ranger led has about a 10 foot spot at about 150 yards whereas the lazerlite has i reckon a 15-20 ft spot at that range. but get this... the long ranger is brighter than my lazerlte and my lazerlite is running a 9.2 amp lithium
  14. the cluson one is 45 quid or less and also 1200 lumens. sold with charger and red filter. i know i've just bought one

  16. do you know exactly what he's rented the land out for ? pigeon, pheasant shooting ? every landowner is responsible for rabbit control. remind the farmer of that .
  17. a lot of this stuff is generic. the deben sportlight 150 rechargeable is the same as the buffalo river is the same as the cluson plr500
  18. funny that. we have an oscar petfood franchise in the village. every food from pet to racing greyhound. saw her in lidl getting a trolley full of lidl chubb for her dogs
  19. start when the weather / cloud's right. finish when i got what i went for
  20. i've been clearing pigeons and rats on a local farm for 3 years and still not got a run with the dog on this one yet. the pigeons were that bad when i started they were threatening to close him down for milking. i'll keep at it though
  21. proper pot licker he is the way i figure it 3 or 4 nights a week on shorter trips are better than 1 big night out for me and the mutt How true, what more can you want than a couple of hours out and to come home with a few rabbits. How much more sport do you get doing it that way rather than trying to get as much as you can on every trip. TC hi TC the permission is enough to keep me going year round with a bit of summer shooting too. landowners are happy, freezers are full. happy days

  23. Had the same when i bought mine. numpties. the .177's a great choice for the ultra. accurate out to 60 yards easily. when you get it clean the barrel. they have all kinds of oil in em. watch the mounts too. for some reason standard 9-11 mounts wouldn't fit even though they state the rails are 11mm. i went for bkl mounts.
  24. nice place to be mate i'm still after one of them useless little hairy buggers myself. just as a pet though as we all know they're nae good
