foraging for mushrooms is something i've always had an interest in but never dared put my trust in a book. think i'd much rather do it with someone who knows what they're on about

fine looking animal that trenchfoot. never had a bull x and maybe never will but they always seem to look the business. couple of mates run em and rate em real good.

looking to get out at the back end of this week for my first real night's lamping this season ( i did get out for an hour last week but the weather really wasn't right). After a long lay off, buck is in good shape and gagging for it. i've had a few behavioural issues with him over the summer purely down to me that also now appears to be sorted and i've also picked up some more permission over the summer that's got a healthy rabbit population on it. the moon's right at the end of this week, there's some cloud and wind forecast so here's hoping.

Bit low though, my mate (who has offroaded farther in reverse than I have done forwards) won't follow my Jimmy in quite a few spots we've been on the moor. Cheers, D. all depends what you do D. Followed many a fourtrak and defender in a forester albeit with decent a/t tyres not the sh*te they're specced with. they easily have the ground clearnce of a freelander. no drama and in comfort. the jimny is fragile. rotten boot floors, suspension like glass and when lifted the're poorly geared. to get a jimny anywhere near the spec of a landy you might as well buy a landy. good fun though

Hopefully this can remain above squabbles and personalities and be about lurcher men and women trying to do something for the sport they love. It’s not just about now, this government or the CA, they change with every election and their priorities are pulled in many directions. Of course this is about changing what we can now but also what we can in the future and the future is about public perception and only by having a voice that can be heard can we start to undo a small part of the damage that has already been done to our reputation.

Thought i'd let everyone know where i'm coming from with this. At the beginning of this when Giro first posted i was like the majority. Intent on keeping in the shadows. I rethought it. If some good can come of this why not just try to do something ? So i did, i get the biggest wooden spoon i could find and stirred up the pot to get some interest and enthusiasm going and keep it going. I've not stopped yet, There's now lots of interest from all manner of folk. Plenty of conflicting opinions but now at least a positive general direction. No one's involved in this for any personal gain. How d

I have just PM'd Courser to see whether he wishes to meet Desertbred locally to discuss what the ALC have to bring to the table.

I'd go back and read it properly it clearly states dogs CAN hunt rats and rabbits in the case of retrieving hares they must be shot at the earliest oppertunity Y.I.S Leeview unfortunately that information is 2 links away from that document as you are aware. We are concerned about the document and how it depicts what are legal methods or more specifically how the first document does not include dogs as means of control
-
sure thats the only ingredients we used too. But bigger quantities. We did it on the stove top though and measured the temp with a thermometer

she's looking well snifferboy

Yep that's pretty worrying. No mention of using dogs to control rabbit numbers. We can use ferrets to bolt to nets or waiting guns. But no mention of dogs? Hmmmm. the more folk sit back and do nothing, the easier a target we become
-
This is a little disturbing and should be looked at by everyone. In the government guidance ( march 2015), nowhere does it include the use of dogs for rabbit control as an option to be considered.. if farmers do consult any such guidance to control pest species within the law there is no wonder rabbit control with dogs doesn't come up near the top of the list of any options. This is one of the reasons we have to work so hard to change things. The bodies that have represented us so far have yet again failed . Is it possible we are only legally able to work rabbits with dogs by a tech

onion , garlic, carrot, thyme, cider, stock cubes, marmite, fresh ground pepper I cook the rabbit long and slow as a stew. remove the solids when the rabbit is falling from the bone then seive every piece out to remove any splinters of bone. Then i take some of the reserved gravy and thicken with bisto and coat the solids sparingly with this to make the pie filling nice n succulent.. all into individual pie cases or pasties sometimes. served up with greens from the garden and spuds and served with the remains of the gravy. we make individual ones in a batch and freeze for meals

what get reported is all down to promoting someones political view and unfortunately those lads have fallen foul this time. all small stories like this stick like sh*t to a blanket and put legal lurcher work in a bad light in the public domain same ol same ol. a thousand positive comments can be ruined by one negative one cos they're the ones that folk remember
-
Looking forward... When a clear direction and aims are set out we will hold public meeting, hopefully in an area as central to all as possible where everyone's contribution will be welcome. If anyone in future will be interested in standing as an area representative please PM me. I'll need to know your rough location and what you feel have to contribute. Thanks all. Rob
