cant see that washing with the plod when a lurcher owner is stopped with a dog registered elsewhere. it'll end up in the pound. you can bet that bit will be included in the law about it being the owners responsibility to update registration. The chipping company have you then as well as plod. they already charge to re register wait till the law comes in they'll triple the fee and once again the lads who can least afford it will end up footing the bill. get yer dogs chipped

mine too. its free so get it while you can. No point trying to avoid the inevitable

I think its just a matter of what works for your dog. I run a collie x and when he's not working he'll retrieve straight to hand. Out in the field he knows its a different game and usually on the first run will do exactly what you've described with a rabbit. Tried using a dummy instead of a ball when exercising and he reacted the same with the dummy as a rabbit at first, though now the dummy is straight back to hand. The more runs he gets in a night the better his retrieve gets. Some dogs like NL says just retrieve, others like this one of mine demand constant input. He is getting better but

Update On The National Lurcher Club.
Dewclaw69 replied to sandymere's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Leeview. Just in case you have forgotten, Flynn and yourself withdrew any interest of being involved with this group . That was messaged to me by Flynn. I respected that decision. Why don't you stop trying to aggravate matters and let the people who do want to be involved get on with things. Your continued yanking of folks chains serves no purpose but to further your own amusement Y.I.S Dewclaw69 -
its still too warm here but theres a fair amount of low cloud about and rain forecast from 8. The lamp's ready and the dog knows we're off out..

I looked into mincing my own stuff mainly to get the necessary weights and to get the right mix of veggies in the grub too. Seems like unless you go for a commercial, butchers mincer its not worth doing. Much easier as said before to let the dogs mince their own. Freezer space is a consideration but a cheap secondhand freezer is pennies compared to an expensive machine to mince meat and bones. I'm fortunate that i have a good supplier of carcasses tha i can get weekly if i need. I wrap them individually and straight in the freezer. takes about 10 minutes to bag 10 kilos. job done Easy to add o

Update On The National Lurcher Club.
Dewclaw69 replied to sandymere's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Skycat, IMO the public do not have anything to do with the Ban, nor will their opinion have anything to do with any further legislation. The only people that matter are the MP's. We could have been giving 10 million a week to good causes in the year befor the ban but the ban was still going to go through, this was down to MP's. Members of the public aren't interested. They're busy trying to get on with their lives. Realistically, a lurcher 'club' is going to have so few members it is not going to be able to do anything at all toward public opinion. The only way forward is unity a -
Update On The National Lurcher Club.
Dewclaw69 replied to sandymere's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
When this was all started by Giro, he put up a poll. From memory he asked Would anyone want to be part of a club to represent them ? The majority of replies said yes. then he asked about the CA, the exact question i can't remember but it was around membership and whether we would join. there were i think 3 possible options to reply 1 already a member 2 i would if i thought they were doing anything for us - THE MAJORITY OF REPLIES INDICATED THIS OPTION 3 i wouldnt give em a penny I emailed Tim Bonner and the replies were made public. He did say they represented lurcher work bu -
