had a nice couple of hours out last night with a fellow member on one of his permissions. not masses about. buck had 1 out of 3 slips. makes a nice change to get out with someone. nice bit of land and a top bloke. the dog wasnt as sharp as he usually is as the conditions just haven't been any good for a couple of weeks. time to really start getting out more.

1999 suzuki jimny. modifications all done by KAP suzuki including the marmite spray job. full mot and 77k original miles. new all terrains. very clean inside. all panels straight and rust free. front winch bumper fitted but no winch. had loads of new parts in last 12 months and good to go. new starter, new battery ,shocks, brakes, all fluids, manual hubs fitted. seen a little off road use earlier this year on a few green lanes but mainly used as my daily drive. based north devon. no issues whatsoever. looking for £1800 or an estate car.

fourtraks do attract the tinworm but the motors are good lumps and do big mileage. if you can get it sorted cheaply yep its a right bargain

i'd think about a jimny again. my lad is 6'3" and has no worries in my jimny. the jimny is spot on off road and yes its only a 1.3 but its quick enough. the biggest advantage of the jimny is that its really small and can get anywhere. i can turn round in lanes where other motors have to go on to find gateways to turn in. i had a vitara a 2.0 v6 and yes the ride's better but rust can hit them hard . all a jimny needs is a decent set of tyres and you're away. depending on what sort of off roading you want to do , there's always the subaru forester. probably the best all round 4x4 i've ever had

its hard with pups kept indoors. i guess you've been feeding her up. with pups, the minute they wake up or have eaten or drank they need to be put outside. they'll get it eventually. crap weather wont help. my bitch hated going out for a piss as a pup. we'd put her out and she'd try to get back in. just got to persevere. makes it harder if you're out in the day too. ever thought of crate training ?

Gypsy Slip From The Gaffer On Here
Dewclaw69 replied to Dewclaw69's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
now i've just been out with this full moon and all. cloud cover was patchy but a bit of wind and light rain . 1 sitter out in some stubble. dog had it no drama. but he's a young dog and keen as feck and as soon as he know's its on he's up on his back legs wanting to be off. this slip is nice in the hand. easy to get a sure grip on and it wont give my hand any grief .if i get another dog i'll be hoping the gaffer will make me another. i bought a nylon slip a couple of months ago and its best part f*cked now. this thing's going to last. i'm well pleased with this -

-
only ever heard "jacker" used when referring to dogs experiencing teeth and not being keen on trying it again

Gypsy Slip From The Gaffer On Here

the collar's attached to the main part of the lead by a brass ring and slides up between 2 strips of leather. the loose end slips through the other d ring on the end of the collar. tightens or loosens to fit any neck size ( though the collar would probably need to be shorter for a dog of less than 26"). wrist through the hand loop, hold the loose end in the same hand. let go of the loose end and the dog's off. -

just received a nice bit of hand crafted leather from the gaffer on here. after a post about slip leads on here and a picture put up by another member, the gaffer offered to make some of these. i ordered one and also a half choke collar for my staff. got em this morning and well pleased with what i have. cracking leather, well finished and well worth the money. the gyspsy slip in particular is a work of art. for anything you need making i'd message the gaffer and see what he can do for you.

i've used cold tea on my dogs eyes over the years and it has worked. no harm in giving it a go until you get to a vet. i use vet bed for mine and it does attract shite and dust. get the vetbed in the washing machine. it'll dry in 10 minutes on low heat in a tumble drier. i have 3 bits and change em over regularly.

if i went down the pub and asked this question i'm sure one of the regulars would say that they wouldn't expect many dog peddlers to be admitting they're in it for the money.

pup's looking just right. handy cross .

a mate of mine had a patt x whippet some years ago now. busy little fecker and a cracking bushing dog .caught a few bunnies in cover. ate the interior of his car and most of his house though . bred by a keeper in scotland as i remember.
-
worked dogs for 30 years and never made a penny. only ever bred 2 litters . one staff and 1 terrier and most of those were given away. its the sport and a bit of free grub for me. if my current dog turns out how he is looking to do i'd like to take a pup from him at some point in the future.

look like they're gonna make some size gaffer. how they bred ?
