  1. The immune system “eats it up”.... Do you understand what happens when you bodies innate immune defences fail to “eat up” a pathogen? You get sick and your health deteriorates, your adaptive immune system then kicks in modifying antibodies and other immune cells to better attack the pathogen. In the same way that a fighter will adapt his tactics to a new opponent through experience and training, your bodies immune system adapts to a new pathogen through being trained. Vaccines do this in a safe way. They ‘train’ the immune system to prepare it for a future encounters with a specific patho
  2. Yeah sure fella. Don’t bother jabbing your pups then.
  3. Nonsense. It trains the adaptive immune system to develop specially adapted antibodies.
  4. A dead 81 year old.... spooky coincidence! Lol.
  5. Had it last week mate.
  6. The immune system is amazing. Vaccination activates it and gives the species and the individual the benefit of this amazing thing with much reduced risk. Vaccination trains the immune system the same as a natural pathogen would, but with statistically much reduced risk.
  7. Read about the difference between innate and adaptive immunity and especially memory cells. Even when exposed to a real pathogen such as a virus, a second exposure after the first triggered an adaptive immune response often boosts that immune response for future infections. The principle behind a two dose vaccination regime is literally observed with natural immune system responses to natural infections.
  8. It's not the same at all. A puppy has a short lived immunity to certain pathogens given to it by it's mother. These antibodies adapted to fight specific pathogens die off between 3-10 weeks. If you jab a pup while they are still present then they literally fight off the vaccine and so the pups adaptive immunity isn't triggered and so no long lasting antibodies of it's own are generated. By ten weeks the mother's inherited temporary antibodies die off and the pup is prime for vaccination. The reason pups are often jabbed before is in case they wore off a few weeks earlier and so leafing the pup
  9. The reason for two jabs. It’s not the same reason for jabbing pups twice.
  10. Not to mention one of the leading covid vaccines is a single shot vaccines.
  11. No it’s not. Puppies are only jabbed twice to ensure one is after the mother’s temporary immunity has worn off which happens some time between 3-10 weeks. If you dare wait, then you only need jab once at ten weeks. Only lepto needs a booster two weeks after.
  12. Man I've missed GoT! Might start paying attention to politics ha.

  16. Thank god for my honourary star fleet commission!
  17. Also, I'm not sure but I seem to recall that the commandos weren't allowed in the vanguard of the Normandy invasion due to some sort of traditional resistance to this new type of soldier, so I don't think the piper would have been mooching about scenes from Saving Private Ryan. Might be wrong....
  18. I know a lad who was raised on such stories and inspired him to join Zulu Company RMs. Myself, reading first hand accounts in the history books of them doning their green berets so the enemy knew exactly who they were facing and screaming "zulu zulu zulu" as the charged. Legendary stuff.
  19. Sounds like Lord Lovat....
  20. During WWI 17% of officers were killed compared with 12% of enlisted ranks. There's probably some disparity when you climb the officer ranks though, junior officers taking the biggest risks but equally being most expendable.

  22. Id be interested to hear other peoples opinions but I get the impression we’re at a tipping point where no one is quite brave enough to say outright that tanks are obsolete. It’s probably the smartest move to retain a minimum force at the moment. Ive looked for the proponents of heavy armour and their arguments just seem thin. Main ones being the political clout having heavy armour gives and the other being that tanks give enduring firepower to infantry on the battlefield whereas Air support is usually temporary. I just think that will no longer be true with drones that can loiter an
  23. Anyway, about the OP, I thought this was a cool image. Rockets on the right, interceptors on the left. I read over 3000 rockets have been fired with over 90% of those that posed a threat intercepted. With the proliferation of cheap suicide drones and even cruise missiles things could really step up in future confrontations.
  24. Interesting speech, at Oxford no less.
