  1. And looks are all that matter right? Its working pedigree is all that matters, the length of a terriers tail really doesnt make any difference. This season just gone I had a 5+ hour dig to a friends border/lakey dog that has a full tail and its tail knew no different, this dog works thick cover better than any terrier I have seen and still its tail is just fine. You may have tail damage issues but its far more common in spaniels than terriers. We all have the image of the 'perfect' terrier in our heads but its a dogs working ancestory that matters not what it looks like.
  2. It got knacked as a puppy by another legend. Tar. Reminded me of an injury I have seen from a dog running into an arrow. Bloody close to the eye!
  3. Whats happened to the pup just below its right eye? Im sure somebody in the know will come back with a cryptic 'in the know' answer... But seriously, is it an injury or what?
  4. A 3/8ths beddy 5/8ths grey has always interested me, or something along those lines. But where are all the well bred beddys greys doing the job they were meant for?
  5. Magic! few cracks of his whip and he'll have em all standing to order. The future is bright, bringing on young hunters is just as important and rewarding as bringing on young stock.
  6. Thanks for your reply I could fashion a feed area with restricted entrances to only allow the mallard through to keep feed costs down but my main concern is whether the geese will give the ducks aggro and make them want to bugger off for quieter waters.
  7. How long have you seriously been burning to get a lurcher pal? I would say, give it a year, read up loads, try to get out with ya dads mate lamping etc learning what its all about and see if that burning inside you is still there come the end of next season. If it is then I would say you are commited enough to give a dog a fair chance assuming your circumstances allow. The only reason I say this is you are at an age where your life will change rapidly and frequently (believe me!) and to take on such a responsibility cannot be half arsed. It took me 5 years untill I could get my first dog, 5 ye
  8. Im very jealous! Very nice country for mooching with the dogs. Your very lucky!
  9. Hes gone very quiet! Lets hope it was a wind up and hes not been raided!!!
  10. You did very well to hold ya tongue fella. If I were you I would have told her exactly what I thought of her as soon as she started getting disrespectfull. Ive been in a similar situation before with a busy body thinking she had power beyond her position, up shot of it is I phoned the keeper passed the phone over and she was told where to go. Always worth being polite as you were though, well done!
  11. Its a disgrace she was attacked in the first place. Attacking a woman in a mobility scooter ffs! Not to mention failing to even pull it off right! These lads must really be some sort of retarded culls. Credit to her for standing her ground but wtf sort of society produces shites like these lads?
  12. There is a major difference between the our modern western societies and the more tribal/aboriginal societies with respect to hunting. We in the west hunt for the sport/enjoyment and the ways in which we hunt reflect that, whereas those tribal communities that hunt to survive have no concept of sport its all about the kill and the carcas. Neither is better but what Im saying is our methods of hunting havnt really been developed to increase our ability to survive they have evolved into our modern 'fieldsports' to provide us with a sporting way of hunting.
  13. Ever remember something and it was SOOOOO embarassing that even though your on your own you go bright red at the thought of it? Yeh I do regularly and bollocks if Im tellin you lot! lol
  14. Well said. These people banging on about going in for oil and all that shit.. If you don't agree with it stop filling your cars with middle eastern petrol. Stop using electricity made with middle eastern gas in your homes. Stop buying products made prom plastics which are formed from refining middle eastern oil.. The list is endless.. Like it or not, our whole way of life is dependant on maintaining a steady supply of oil from these oil rich countries. This is dependant on stability in the regions. Don't forget, we don't steal the oil, we buy it and in the process inject god knows h
  15. Can't beat an old quote from Scotland's greatest ever philosopher to put things in perspective! I'm laughing here mate, if we listened to all the internet doom-mongers we'd never leave the house! What's an extra minute bit of radiation to add to all the stuff flying about up there as a result of hundreds of atmospheric nuclear bomb tests? PS. Tip for anybody in the UK genuinely worried about getting poisoned by this leak - Stay away from the microwave & mobile phone... I would love to give these paranoid radiation worriers a scintilator or geiger counter and watch
  16. Ill be damned if im driving to town to get a packet of wings when I find myself short of meat on that particular day! lol. Im not a hard core raw feeder like that, but it is what I feed, other than the odd day im caught short.
  17. Bet he will be popular when the lot of em get raided
  18. Dogs do best when fed a diet that includes the right amount of protein, fat and carbohydrate to meet their individual metabolic requirement, raw meat alone does not do that likewise many completes will also fail to do so. Some raw diets will overload the dogs system with bacteria which just adds another stressor, hence my rejection of pets minces etc. Basically it is a balance so the idea that raw is the answer doesn’t add up, that’s not biased science just basic text book science. Balance and inclusion not bigotry and exclusion. If you feed what you believe to be “shit that comes in a bag” an
  19. Yes its the isotopes carried down in the rain water that cause concern for those not directly affected by the incident at the fukushima plant. However as I have stated, what has been measured is so tiny its not going to have any affect on our health or well being. For us here in england theres no concern, for SOME of those in japan there is. Theres no denying this has been a terrible disaster but for us there really is no concern.
  20. I seriously doubt it. How could it get serious for us here in england? Define serious? The way they are banging on at the minute, this tiny rise in radiation levels sounds serious! But its clearly not! The government wont have to give us a heads up, they arnt the only ones monitoring background radiation. People in the industry arnt worried here, the only thing they are worried about is the public over reacting. Baw, yes you do have to be carefull how you interpret this shit. Your example, I dont know anymore about this leak you have mentioned than what you have told me however straigh
  21. Im not getting into an argument over this. I never said all science is false, that would be a bit warped of me. I said Im not interested in the science in this case, because I couldnt trust it. All too often money gets in the way of real science and as such the agendas of those holding the money. My simple point was, a raw based diet vs a complete biscuit is no argument as those that have tried both know what works best and in my experience its never the shit that comes in a bag.
  22. I personally agree with the theory however Its only a theory but does have evidence to back it up, but certainly not conclusive.
