Hes got the psychopathic look in his eye! Deffinately gonna be trouble!

I havnt a fecking clue what the crack is with this coon hunting, it was a revalation to me that its done at night! So forgive this daft question; what happens when the coon is treed? Is it shot or is it difficult to get a clean shot at night? Do the hounds often catch before the coon trees? Nice thread btw, something a bit different!

Its a bad crack when our own forces have no faith. What will you be doing in the falklands mate? Just keeping up our military presence there? I believe the only thing standing in our favour with any potential shit to happen over the falklands is that our troops are battle hardened with the conflicts they have been involved in over the past decade. Im sure fighting in Iraq and afghan would be a different ball game to the falklands though. And over there its Naval power that would defend the islands, and currently our navy might aswell consist of dingys with mounted harpoon guns.

I think youre right, negotiations are the only way it will end. But I think alot of people's feelings are that these 'noegotiations' are simply a way of getting out of the afghan mess without loosing face. Surely the only way the negotiations can be just is if the demands of the west are ruthless and ensure primarily our safety from terror and secondly the afghan people's safety from the taliban? Too many lives have been lost for it all to have been for nothing, if anything all that we will have done is poked the hornets nest! The job has to be done properly, otherwise we are just inviting fut

I would tell the yanks to go f**k themselves anyway! All the Falklands shite is getting a bit heated again and the yanks wont even support our sovereignty over the islands. They want us to enter into talks with the argies! They're our f*****g islands and our 'allies' should support that! We fought 2 f*****g shitty wars in the name of the yanky war on terror, they should at the very least politically support our sovereingty over the Falklands. ONE islander changed his citizenship to argentinian! ONE! They are British islands and our 'closest allies' should be standing by us. Dont even get m

I got mine for 30 quid from the Belvior hunt show last sunday. Cant remember the name of the stand. It was the one tucked away in the corner if anyone remembers? Not read much yet but the few scattered bits I have read makes me think its gonna be one of the very best books available, when he was talking about robbie and his last moments it really pulled on my heart strings . Cracking pictures too!

I suppose my point is, I dont feel it wrong to have a dog PTR (as lab so eloquently put it) once it hits retirement as hounds are and many other working breeds as long as the dog is treated well while it is alive. That was my point about culling a failure being no different to culling a retired dog, neither did anything malicious, just no longer an asset to the kennel or line. Its not for me but I have good mates that do it as kennel space to them is at a premium. I just genuinely dont see a problem with it but I do have a problem when people let emotion cause a dog unecessary suffering. It al

Hang on fella, I said I havnt a problem with people that do! I never said I did. I stated my personal opinion. I make my decisions based on my dogs well being not on my own emotions. Ive seen retired dogs rotting away as well as dogs quite happily enjoying retirement, depends on the dog. Read what I posted and come back with a decent intelligent reply or dont reply at all! If you take offence to my statement that sentimentality doesnt come into it then thats your business as its just my opinion. Let emotions get in the way of what has to be done and your not doing the right thing are you?
-
Cock on! my sentiments exactly Some dogs dont want to retire, even though to continue grafting would kill them. Forcing them to retire breaks this sort of dogs spirit. IMO culling a retired dog is no different to culling a failure, I dont believe for a minute that dogs work for us they work for themselves because its in their blood, its their addiction. A dog that fails to make the grade doesnt necessarily want to please its owner any less, but it doesnt have the minerals for the job its owner wants. So for me culling is culling no matter the reason and if you follow that path sentim

Alot of 'experts' on here! We all feel a loss when we hear and see of soldiers dieing. Different people react differently too it. My opinion is that soldiers know what they are doing and regardless of the reasons for the wars they participate in they soldier because they love it! Its what makes them buzz. Some dont hack it and leave but some do and its like a drug to them. They all know what they are getting into and to be honest I think the reality of war we saw last night should be shown FAR more often so people cant say "they are just kids that havnt a clue and just think its like a game".

So its alright to steal a dog that probably wont make the grade but not a dog that has? Stealing is stealing, jacker or best dog in the fecking county, thieving shites still deserve a bullet! Even a dog that hasnt made the grade deserves a decent life and a swift painless end. Scum that steal dogs dont give a shite about either of them. I would rather shoot a dog than have it stolen.

Ill be there! -
Well said gnasher! We may not condone the actions of others but if that is their culture we really have to remember that and mind our own business. Many other cultures look at our traditions and cultural practices and cannot understand or agree with them. The world is diverse and tolerance is essential.

That's not right, spoiling a good cheese with brown stuff that didn't come out of a pickle jar. Now cheese on toast with a little ketchup that's proper food. Only one thing ketchup is good for and that chips! When im feeling particularly adventurous ill cut cheese into chunks and dip it in the marmite jar, YUM!

LOVE IT! Cheese and marmite sarnies are a delicacy Cheese and marmite toasties are heavenly

Nice pics, only ever seen one in daylight and that was early morning in a wood on national trust land over a massive sett. I keep toying with the idea of trying to photograph some but never get round to it. Great pics!

Most probably, bless their little cotton socks

Same shit different day. The only thing that bothers me about this sorta stuff is inappropriate use of the phrase 'badger baiting'. Its badger digging ffs!

Sounds a good crack scent.

Tonk is known by a few in the Nottingham area (or should I say WAS known), iv'e heard the dog spoken about by a few. I just dont think the wheaton lurchers have the same popularity as the bull crosses do and I dont think that that is a bad thing either. The good dogs seem to be well known locally but they dont get the national 'fame' the bull cross studs do which again is a good thing. JMO
