  1. We’re in perissa. The hotel is lovely, food is decent and priced sensibly. The beaches are overrated. Walked up the mountain this morning to see the ruins of ancient Thera. Mega! I need to see more stuff like this.
  2. Exactly mate. Just sat in a restaurant in Oia waiting for the sunset now. Early one tomorrow to climb the mountain.
  3. Im in Santorini and yeah, it’s f***ing hot. Too hot to really do owt tbh.
  4. Having only read the article, I’d actually support them. We’re blindly walking into a AI dystopia.
  5. If you’re lucky a job might come up somewhere a bit nicer… Like Bakhmut or Mogadishu!
  6. It’s like 2012 all over again!
  7. Turns out they have cannibalised retired RAF Tornados to launch the missiles from Su-24s. Retired Tornado parts used to launch Ukrainian Storm Shadows UKDEFENCEJOURNAL.ORG.UK The weapons pylon adapter for the Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft that are launching Storm Shadow missiles... Also turns out that this subsonic missile is pretty effective at beating Russian ADs. Talking about air defence systems, Poland has just gone in big with a near £2B deal to buy 22 UK missile systems which I would expect to perform better than this Russian e
  8. Shooting a dog is shit, mine, families or mates. I hate it. But I haven’t yet been able to bring myself to do it any other way. Some lads are ruthless and think nothing of it. But I think the general uninitiated opinion that everyone who chooses that method is of the same mindset is way off. It’s about duty, not money. And I’ll not judge another for choosing a vet. The consequences of emotions clouding your ability to deliver that last act are not worth the risk. Again, it’s about duty to that animals welfare.
  9. Speculation but I would say Putin either has family members that he’s threatened to cut pieces off or he made it clear that a step further would result in obliteration.
  10. Yeah, humidity was noticeably up this morning. It was close as f**k and we were all gasping by 1.
  11. f**k me, just realised what you meant. Thought you were on about some f***ing tree I’d never heard of! No cheese, just bacon sausage and hobnonbs!
  12. Not that I know of but tbh we’re still discovering stuff! Just letting light in and sorting out ready for the season this year. We’ve already felled enough to heat a village till the end of time! Getting that proper understory established in spots will improve the wood a lot.
  13. If anywhere is getting nuked it’s western Russia to stop a 30k strong battle hardened rebel army taking the throne. And then Ukraine to save face when the occupation forces are forced back to the homeland to shore up putins control.
  14. Maybe semantics but you differentiated between defence and attack. Defence against ballistic missiles is an entire field separate from strike capability. Our defence is out attack capability. But in the face of an attack, we have absolutely no defence capability. I was just clarifying that. Deterrence isn’t really defence.
  15. Dunno how true it is but a thing on this I read earlier said that the implosion would have been so quick and violent that they wouldn’t have had time to consciously realise it was happening and would have literally been turned to ash from the heat generated.
  16. Tbf mate we have no nuclear defences. Our sole defence strategy is our ability to attack.
  17. And this is a culmination of economically squeezing the oligarchy. See if the Wagner head has the backing of real political players now. If real military, intelligence and oligarchs back him then Russia will be in full revolution. Could easy get squashed. Putin is an operator.
  18. The sun had 7 safety features to surface it, one of which was automatic. Do you know the weight dropping wasn’t the automatic one?
  19. I think it’s a shame that they are subject to mockery. I’ll always admire people who strive for adventure and experience. Even more so when there’s risk involved. At the end of the day the company appears legit. Held under the scrutiny that they will be now there will no doubt be massive failings with either their tech or processes but we all purchase services or goods with a degree of faith based on appearance. No one asks to see the safety test specs of the rollercoaster or plane they’re about to jump on. Many many other firms held under the same scrutiny would be torn apart. We only fi
  20. You ain’t getting a gps signal 3km down mate. Theres only really one effective way of subsea location at those depths and that’s sonar of one form or another. Ideally a beacon for searchers to listen to. Clanging the hull is effectively that.
  21. Surely the cocker world need to get away from using the same few selected studs? What the f**k do I know but I have and will continue to use just a decent actual working dog. Makes no sense to me to pursuit trialling blood when I want field dogs, given there are actual field dogs doing exactly what I expect of them.
  22. Im hopefully a long way from my last dog but if the world doesn’t change too dramatically then the cockers I’ve got now would do me. Easy dogs that fit my life, rather than the other way round, and I could work them 5 days a week in retirement if I wanted. All about balance, even now.
  23. Been busy myself this year. Helping a mate with a bit of management of a new 90acre woodland. Clear felling a few areas for flushing points, a pen, and generally open spots. Lots of thinning to do too. Loving this opportunity tbh.
