Is that really surprising at all? The government needs tax revenue for its budget. When it cuts tax in one area to bring about change, it either makes up the short fall somewhere else or it waits for the change to take effect and then makes up for the losses. The same will happen with the TV license. It won’t truly be abolished unless they shut down the bbc or change the way it’s financed to match ch4. Instead they’ll stop the license and we’ll all be celebrating that we won, while they bump up some other tax in a stealth way to make up the shortfall.

Then I’m on board with you. Risk of ‘mission creep’ with laws should be a concern of anyone. But also, in this instance at least it was applied to people who did carry out civil disobedience, rather than age old protest.

The cornerstone of western democracy that is the freedom to assemble and speak, does not extend to civil disobedience! They’re two different things!

I meant the right for citizens to use greater force without fear of repercussions. The British government obviously use it when they feel they can.

They’re making an example of them because their ‘protesting’ (it’s not), will eventually and quite naturally lead to reasonable people doing something criminal out of frustration. It’s not the British way to simply legislate to allow that so they’re cracking down before it gets messy. I’d prefer to have more right to use force but that isn’t the British way.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you couldn’t just rake that with a pick and pop it straight open. I managed the same to my old front door with absolutely no skill and a cheap pick set off Amazon.

I don’t know what all the arguing is about Smashing out the dpf and mapping it out the ecu is done primarily to resolve or prevent dpf replacement due to blockage. Which costs a fortune. Seems to occur less frequently than ad blue or egr issues and is more costly to do. Both of those can be done with just an ecu map in many instances.

In industry a white hat hacker is a type of cyber security professional. I’m not sure that’s what this is though. I think they’ve run with the same analogy, as you suggest.

The good news is that nothing will change… the bad news is that nothing will change! Lets be honest, there was never going to be any other outcome. This election result changes nothing we didn’t already know months ago. Labour is no different to the torries other than if you’re in the 0.1% or possibly for us. But that’s unclear and to what extent. Anything labour does to us the torries would’ve eventually done anyway. They’re the same.

It’s mind boggling to me why it’s gone viral, it just seems so ‘normal’. I mean I get it, her energy/personality has resonated, but to this level? Seems completely un-newsworthy to me in this day and age. And not for any bad reason. And I doubt it’s going to cause her major long term problems. Attitudes have changed and she seems to have enough about her to handle any banter. Seems like a sound bird, shame she’s lost her job.
