I haven’t mentioned this but short of leaving the country that will be hard. I live in a very nice rural community that in the past 12 months is beginning to be f***ing destroyed. And that’s now the same story the country over. Its the sort of community where I can keep myself private but still everyone knows me. In the past 12 months though there’s been quite a bit of change.

There’s absolutely a political side to this mate. I have reason to believe that a very contemporary political issue that isn’t being dealt with is the cause of this. I just can’t be arsed with it right now and I don’t know where I stand legally before speaking to the police.

Keeper mate has told me about a mate of his that has pups from stock he uses for everything. Dunno, sounds ideal but I’m sure downsouth had said they have a reputation for being a bit unstable? I’m taking this seriously but can’t rush.

No my spaniels are soft as shite. They’re a bit aloof with strangers but totally soft. In fact I believe them not being at home is part of the reason I was targeted. Yard was quiet for 3 days. Which again is something I can change.

Again mate, when I’m there I’m the first and last line of offence. My concern is when I’m not. Putting a series of other measures in place too but they’re all defensive.

I’d go for a pup without doubt. I’d be hard pressed to trust an adult.

I appreciate your words. I’m fully aware of how this could go, hence this thread mate. Interested in all opinions on this. I haven’t got the time to go into protection dog work as a full on hobby so any dog realistically needs to fit around my life like the rest of my dogs do. Perhaps my inexperience but I would say KNPV and trialing bred dogs are very unlikely to fit me just like the same stuff in gundogs don’t. And again I know the filthiest of this type will happily kill dogs but does dealing with it buy time? Does it filter out all but the worst?

I know a family that live very rural that love them but two of theirs failed to stop them getting burgled and the ones I’ve met have been ignorant as f**k. I like trainable biddable dogs that equally chill out when I do, like my spaniels. Agree with the kennel thing. But if I’m about I’m not so concerned. This dog will be where it’s needed when it’s needed and will have to be intrinsically adaptable.

Yeah I hear you. I have the option of keeping it away but it needs to take the role of guardian so I figure it can’t be treated the same as the other dogs. What I can say though is the dog will be there to reduce risk not increase it. If it becomes a risk in itself I’ll shoot it like I would any other dog. But I want to avoid all that by making good choices.

So, on Thursday morning while on holiday I woke up to a voicemail from a police officer informing me that my house had been broken into on Wednesday night. I’ve since found out that it was three masked males of foreign origins who ransacked it leaving once disturbed by my neighbour. I’ve basically got no information from the police at this time and don’t really want to discuss any further details before I’ve spoken to them when we return. However, in line with other security improvements Im seriously considering now taking on a dog for personal/family protection. My single biggest concern

Something like that mate. Once I might have found such a persons beliefs interesting or even conflicting but these days I think it’s a very personal matter and frankly no one’s business.

It’s not my theory, it’s a combination of work from Edwin Hubbles astronomical observations, Friedman’s ideas, Einsteins theoretical work, and several others in the field. Over the years I e told you time and time again that ‘science’ does not say the Big Bang was the beginning. The beginning of the current laws of the universe but science does not say nothing came before. This is why these discussions are a total waste of time with you. You have absolutely no interest in learning.

It doesn’t reach that speed in the atmosphere. Stage 2 tops out at about 15k mph at over 100 miles altitude. Outer space is classed as 62 miles altitude. This would generally be considered having left the earths atmosphere. Speed at that altitude is probably around 10k mph.

You say no one witnessed the speed but do you not think the soviets were tracking the missions with their icbm radar? Spoiler they did. Way too many states, friendly and adversary, have verified the Apollo missions. I genuinely don’t think people like yourself could ever actually believe it happened. You’ll always find an excuse.

You can’t verify anything 100% truly but I understand. But I don’t get why you think it’s not possible? You must have a reason other than “I haven’t seen it happen”? I don’t know any recovered manned craft that has done 25k mph other than Apollo program reentry modules. But then we’ve never travelled as far before or since. The nearest would be shuttle runs to the ISS like the space x dragon modules. They’ll hit around 18k mph. Do you believe they’re real? And if so why is 25k significantly different to 18k?

The earths circumstance is 25000 miles, so you’d go around it once. Why can no craft survive that speed?
