  1. I'm sure this is one we all suffer with, looking in fields while driving! Nearly been the death of me more than once and has given me an aweful reputation as a bad driver, lol. Only wierd one is having to cover up things I don't like when eating. I mean, I don't HAVE to but just irritates the hell out of me if I can see it. Loose buttons on the table will do that to me. Completely fecking wierd. It's not a phobia just irritates me.
  2. Some are obvious, because they want to be that way. But if you believe the statistics that 10% are gay, I can certainly not tell 1 in 10 people I meet are gay, nowhere near. What puzzles me is why are there so many more gay men than lesbians? Where did you get those stats from? In the 2011 UK Census; • 1.1 per cent of the surveyed UK population, approximately 545,000 adults, identified themselves as Gay or Lesbian, • 0.4 per cent of the surveyed UK population, approximately 220,000 adults, identified themselves as Bisexual, • 0.3 per cent identified themselves as ‘Other’,
  3. Something I've just nicked off of wiki; The term "macroevolution" frequently arises within the context of the evolution/creation debate, usually used by creationists alleging a significant difference between the evolutionary changes observed in field and laboratory studies and the larger scale macroevolutionary changes that scientists believe to have taken thousands or millions of years to occur. They accept that evolutionary change is possible within what they call "kinds" ("microevolution"), but deny that one "kind" can evolve into another ("macroevolution"). Contrary to this belief amon
  4. What about a bodyweight challenge for the fitter and more competitive people. 300 spartans/bodyweight 500 or a watered down version? Say squats, push ups, pull ups, crunches and jumping jacks?
  5. I don't usually like that modern sorta arty stuff but that's actually quite smart. There's something a bit magical and mysterious about the hare and that captures that quite well.
  6. Mal, If I have read this thread right? What you have there is micro evolution and most are in agreement that it happens. What some do not agree about is macro evolution where fishes turn into other spieces. I think? TC Check this thread again in 10'000'000 years, I'll stick a wiki link up...............
  7. i have got a 1/5th scale spitfire in my shed Your shed sounds amazing! A snap would be nice mate?
  8. Indeed the men were brave, as all frontline troops durring the war. But for me, Sir Barnes Neville Wallis is the man of the hour........ The raids may not ultimately have had much effect on the war but it's men like him that made this country what it is. The bouncing bomb is a symbol of British wartime ingenuity.
  9. With respect, all science is theory. At any time something could be observed which completely fecks up any part of science. I agree 100%, so how can someone quote a scientific hypothesis and use it to prove the existence or non existence of a supreme being? TC You can't! Basing an argument for or against God on Science and logic is pointless! Completely pointless.
  10. How patronising you are, Science is entirely what people believe! Science is educated and logical beliefs based on observations. Just because a theory is difficult to test rigorously doesn't make it any less scientific. Gravity is accepted as fact by every sane person, yet I have no way of proving how it works, none. I can't observe any force carrying partical for gravity or any other mechanism to explain the force. So what....... gravity doesn't exist? You've conveiniently interpreted that definition in your own way. By your definition the majority of Astrophysics and Cosmology is also un

  12. Would a hard herding dog have saved his life? Or do these stockmen not have dogs about because they attract trouble? Seems madness to me not to have a good dog in the truck/tractor/bike with you when working with such dangerous beasts....
  13. Oi! Oi what? FFS you lot were the ones talking about aliens being fecking gods! I just carried that on, saying it's interesting but I don't believe really plausible. FFS I'll just leave you to talk to who ever the f**k you like. What can I say............. I think I need a drink and a holiday? LOL

  15. Stargate, shite film really but interesting concept................ In all honesty though, I don't believe we would still be here and free if we had ever been visited by another form of intelligent life.
  16. Shit, sorry Walshie! I'll shut the feck up on it now.
  17. TFM, I read that and although it's interesting it's sure as hell not proof that evolution is false.......... What the author implies as impossible is actually just statistically unlikely. But then statistics are funny old things......... Also, if I understood it correctly, It completely ignores other mechanisms of evolution and focusses entirely on natural selection. Modern science supports evolution. It has not been observed in sufficient detail to be absolutely proven due to the time scales and huge amounts of data involved, however equally their is no data to disprove it. Because of
  18. I dunno wheather I like it or not but my bitch will see beast off in no uncertain terms. She doesn't want bother with them but if they want to get too close and give her the eye she knows that a quick charge and a few snaps to the face will send them bucking away. It's good in that I know she can handle herself with dangerous stock and keeps me safe but equally she's got a real dislike for them, her attitude being of a pre emptive strike, lol. I keep her at a close heel around sheep, as although she knows not to bother them, if they tried the same trick the beast do I know full well th
  19. Your misses is such a lucky woman! I dunno why but i can't stop thinking about hammering fence posts in........... It's fecking disturbing!
  20. So what is it that makes the Irish lucky?
  21. Personally, most people that know me know I shoot/hunt and I don't think I've ever met anybody that had a serious problem with me owning guns. Most are interested by it, especially folk that hardly leave the inner city, their only association with guns is on the wrong side of the law so tend to have huge respect for legal gun owners and sporting shooters. In my experience, the general 'feeling' is pretty relaxed regards guns. But can very often have you think otherwise........... Edited; I'll add, things have changed, when I got my first air rifle I could stand on the bridge by the
