I have always had an interest in hunting and have owned and worked Lurchers many years ago.
Pedigree Terriers - which Is now my main interest - started by accident when I started taking an uncle to shows around the UK to exhibit his Whippets. I became interested in Terriers and obtained my first Kerry Blue Terrier in 1974 and just went on from there. Giving up my trade as a Roofing Specialist was a blow after suffering a heart attack when I was 48 and could no longer perform the physical work the trade demanded. So, my hobby of exhibiting Pedigree Dogs then became my full time employment as a Professional Handler (now retired)
I published a Magazine in the late eighties with a Printer friend and it was called Terrier World. Unfortunately, due to personal difficulties he could no longer contine to print the Magazine and we stopped it. In those days it was extremely costly to produce a Magazine - everything had to be done manually, no computers then as such. Now of course a school leaver can do it on a computer with ease. So much so that I taught myself Web Design and now publish my former Magazine as a Cyber Magazine.

  1. MyKC (The Kennel Club Data Base is now active. To see a video of this visit Terrier World. www.terrierworld.co.uk

  2. Some time ago I started a campaign to persuade the Kennel Club to change its policy regarding their Data Base for all Pedigree Dogs registered with them. I sent out thousands of emails asking people to lobby the KC about this matter. The tactic worked and the KC announced after Crufts in March that they were working on this matter and the Data Base would soon be accessible . Two days ago this came to fruition. The link to this can be found on my website www.terrierworld.co.uk At long last the Data Base for Pedigree Dogs has been made available by the Kennel Club. I initially ha
  3. To the 'Moderators' Thank you for publishing my last two postings - I don't want to misuse this site as it is most informative and extremely well run. Thank you.
  4. Hello again, I don' know if I have broken any rules of this site in putting the address of my website as my reply doesn't seem to have been published. Just google terrierworld or Terrier World and my site is the top of the listings 'The Magazine Dedicated To Terriers'
  5. Hello, The link to my website is: http://terrierworld.co.uk/index.htm Enjoy the site - there is a lot of information on it - use all of the tabs to take you to other parts of the site. Kindest Regards, Tony Manning.
  6. Hello Mack, The seventy five thousand Borders that are in the Data Base are obviously not still active as this goes back to the 1900s. But I do appreciate your point that working dogs do just that - work.
  7. Hello, After a recent campaign that I ran through my website Terrier World I am pleased to say that the UK Kennel Club have decided to make their data base for Pedigree Dogs accessible to view. I know that many of you will have cross breeding in your dogs, but for those who are interested in keeping pure breeding lines this will be a major asset to you, should you need to research pedigrees for breeding etc. The KC haven't mad the Data Base live yet, however, as soon as it is I will inform members. It will be called 'MyKc'
  8. Hello, Many of you out there will have Pedigree Dogs that you use in the pursuit of your hobby and to assist you in your various methods of hunting. The UK Kennel Club have the complete Data Base for Pedigree dogs - but, unfortunately, it is only available to a select few. I have been pressing the Kennel Club for some time to make the Data Base available to view for everyone without cost. The Finish Kennel Club does this with access to more than a million dogs. If you have ever registered a litter of pups with the UK KC you have paid for entry into their Data Base; moreover, if a puppy is t
  9. Hello to all existing members. I publish an online magazine called Terrier World. I have always had an interest in working Terriers and and the difference in working and show Terriers is substantial. My magazine is aimed at the show dog scene so it is refreshing to read something different regarding working dogs. I look forward to exploring and enjoying the site. Best wishes.
