  1. Anti mink religion! Look, well done, you tamed a f***ing mink. But don't just come on here, to a predominantly British site, and tell us how things are in our own back yard. What's all this anti mink religion you have dreamt up? The only one acting like some religious fanatic is you with this 'enlightened' attitude you are throwing around... Taming a mink in the states doesn't make a Gnat's shite of difference to the wild ones in this country! I've never heard all this 'anti mink' religion that us Brits are so deluded with you keep banging on about. We blame the mink for being a voracious
  2. Ah right, so now not only is it scientific fact that mink haven't caused the decline and near extinction of our native water voles but we are also 'slaves' in our own country? You're an arrogant one at times. One thing you should learn about Britons, we're a proud people with back bone and heart in truck loads. This country might not be the United States of America but it is still OUR country! Anything else you would like to educate us on regarding this Island? Edited, as I got a bit 'passionate' in my laguage.
  3. Jiggy, why the hell were you using a recip saw for butchering!!!???
  4. I thought this thread was about us listing our own bad habbits. I'll keep quiet as you lot seem to have already listed mine.
  5. A chance would be a fine thing!
  6. "If you don't hear a sound wave then it isn't sound and I don't give a f**k even if Einstein says so"
  7. I don't smoke but got a mate that's always 'trying' to quit, anyway he gave them tablets a bash about a year ago...... made him a complete wreck! i wouldn't say he's a particularly level headed stable sort anyway but those tabs had a real bad effect on him.
  8. Yeh Schlumberger lol They had two wireline engineers beheaded in Algeria in the late 1990s Apparently they found their heads in the mud pits. Oh ffs it's wireline I'm looking at too! Do they mount 50 cals to the wireline trucks? I might put in a mod request!
  9. Sign me up as a logging engineer! LOL
  10. Absolutely Nick, the Algerians are well respected in North Africa and I think casualties are to be expected in such a large hostage situation. But who would you want kicking the windows through if you were gagged and bound with an AK wielding extremist in the room? The British military have a lot of influence in training the Kenyans I believe?
  11. They'll almost certainly have been offered, as they were to Algeria. But national pride comes before everyday folks lives. They may well be there with the Kenyan forces in an 'advisory' role.
  12. Suspected to be yeah. She'll get a bullet in a back alley in Somalia sooner or later. I imagine she's just gone from, arrest on sight, to shoot on sight on British military intelligence documents. It's a right shit storm going on in that shopping mall.
  13. Fair enough mate, crack on then. I tried bolted rabbits once with the fourten and decided I had a much better tool for the job at home in the cabinet. 11gms of shot through a full choke or 32gms through quarter is a no brainer for me. After that the fourten was used for what it was best at, hedgerow hunting and vermin around yards and pens.
  14. I've been enjoying the same with my terrier past few weeks. Getting some tidy bags and cracking pre season sport. It's a right buzz when you see the terrier hunt a line nose down tail up zigzaging on the scent like a spaniel, into the cover and you hear the pace pick up and then suddenly the terrier starts screaming on the arse of a rabbit........ crash bang it's out and running, smooth swing and over it roles. Out comes the terrier hunting for the line again, sometimes needing a bit of guidance with a hand signal, finds it's rabbit and makes a proud retrieve holding her head high. Riv
  15. You'll rapidly get sick of missing rabbits with that imo. Get a cheap double barrel 12 or 20 bore. Should be able to get one for 100 quid. Fourtens are great fun for squirrels, rats and mooching around hedgerows after rabbits but no way would I be picking a fourten up for bolted rabbits.
  16. I just showed you two.... Just google it!
  17. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/000632079090031J This study explores mink-water vole interactions on five of the principal rivers in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, in an area where mink are still spreading. It uses a variety of techniques—tracking (field signs), trapping and radio-tracking—at a range of 38 sites that differed in average water vole and mink abundances over two years, in conjunction with a longer term four-year study at one site on the river Esk under active colonisation by mink. The overall conclusion is unavoidable. Mink pose a serious th
  18. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1365-2664.2000.00504.x/full Literally the first link I have found. Mathematical modelling of habitat erosion and mink predation on the water vole population. The extinction of water vole on the River Windrush became more likely as habitat fragmentation and mink predation increased. Mink predation effectively doubled the probability of extinction over that arising from fragmentation alone.
  19. Minkenry, you talk some shit. Areas with high populations of mink have next to f**k all water voles in this country. Our native water voles are having the arse knocked out of them by the invasive American Mink.
  20. Can't be doing with gaming, loved Metal Gear Solid when I was a kid but that's about it. I guess in terms of parenting though it simply comes down to which side of the fence you sit; expose your children to the realitys of life, teaching them about it the best you can or shield them from as much as possible untill they are older and hopefully have their moral compass well calibrated by then. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer...
  21. So the film alien, isn't about aliens then Lab? 'Alien' is simply non terrestrial.
