  1. http://news.sky.com/story/1142428/washington-navy-base-several-dead-in-shooting Three armed gunmen attack the US Naval Sea System Command HQ. Crazy that you can attack one of the largest Naval HQs in the world with small arms and not get shot dead instanty.....
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/rabbit_saltimbocca_44514Rabbit saltimbocca Saltimbocca is traditionally made using veal, prosciutto and sage. This recipe uses rabbit, bacon and sage, for a quick, easy and extremely tasty supper. Ingredients2 rabbit fillets 2 slices back bacon 2 fresh sage leaves 1 tbsp olive oil 150ml/5fl oz beer or white wine Preparation method Place the rabbit fillets between two pieces of cling film and bash lightly with a meat hammer or rolling pin until ½cm/¼in thick. Remove the cling film and place the bacon and sage leaves in between the fillets. Season w
  3. Cut the loins from the saddle, flatten them between two sheets of clingfilm to give two roundish slabs of meat, sandwich a bit of palmer ham between the two flattened loins and fry in butter with a bit of seasoning! Fecking lovely! Doing that and bunny burgers tonight as it happens.
  4. Here's a novel idea then Tomo, crack on with ya own game fair, don't charge an entrance fee, rinse the retailers and if you're predictions are right the masses will flock to this mecca in their droves. Maybe charge them a quid to get in and call that your wages for it? The CLA sees around 300'000 people a time..... one fair an you'll be retiring comfortably my friend! LOL
  5. I'm far from a businessman tomo, but what is the upkeep of a shopping center compared to a country estate? If the estate hit the retailers too hard with fees they would soon have no retailers. It's just economics, game and country fairs aren't shopping centers and I'd hazard a guess it would not be profitable to run them like one.
  6. Tomo, the estates have to make some money, so they run different events and charge for it. Feck all there........ what do you want? The only thing that I could see missing was gun traders, of which I didn't miss at all, and paki stands selling tat. Just seemed everything was better quality and in a much nicer setting. I really don't see 20 quid to get in as a big deal. If the fairs are so shite it's not worth 20 quid, don't go. Go to the pub for the afternoon instead and blow 50.....
  7. Same thread every year. None of you payed 25 quid to get into the CLA then? I went to Chatsworth this year, 20 quid each on the gate and thoroughly enjoyed it. Let's be honest a 20 minute 50 bird sporting will cost you that or a mornings coursing 10 years ago or going to the pub for an hour or two on a Sunday afternoon with the misses. I'm potless this month, couldn't afford to go if I had wanted to, but I still don't think it's that much really when put in perspective.
  8. Ah okay. I've got 3 skins salting on a board now untill I decide what to do with them. If I can find some alum I might give tawing a go but otherwise I think I'll buckskin them.
  9. Got an old pair of RAM trousers. Good for warmth and comfort but shite for wet weather.
  10. It sounds like hippy crap. Live as though you'll die tomorrow, learn as though you'll live forever.
  11. No please do.... Atleast that would have a f*****g morsel of interest instead of this pish!! Lol And yet you keep coming back labradoodle... Come on lab, what's your take on the cosmos? LOL
  12. Lol, yes mate. Nothing round here though.... Honest. Haha
  13. Well tomo, you've got more sense than the pratts I bumped into last year. Both of them caught out right on the middle of a drive! Best part was watching a roe run no more than twenty yards in front of them! I had to laugh.
  14. I didn't realise you had left in the first place. Must have missed the celebration....
  15. Took your time coming back with that, google slow, your superiors on a lunch break you need a receiver to hear sound. We know how sound is produced but thanks for googling it for us You're making yourself look silly now.
  16. For the sake of intelligence and the hope of humanity Baw, google the definition of sound.
  17. I'm an acoustic Physicist and I'm being told the definition of sound. That's laughable! Sound is the excitation of a wave in a media. You don't have to hear it for it to be sound.
  18. Course it does mate. Time is as real as gravity, speed and distance. Just the other ones I mentioned we can actually see them working. Time for us is a clock on the wall but its far more complex than that. The problem with Time though is that we don't understand the mechanism for it, like space it's more fundamental than gravity, speed etc. The mechanism for the forces of nature are force carrying particles, speed is described by distance and time. But time and space are fundamental, they're b*****ds to explain because of that. Entropy increases with increasing time but that's about th
  19. Do you know something born, the tree example was exactly the same example I was going to give but your wrong, the tree doesn't make a sound if no one is there to hear it you see, sound is vibration of the air, it needs to vibrate off our ear drum to hear it so..... No ear drums no sound I'm sat in a room full of physicists that beg to differ chap. You won't hear it, because to do that you need an ear, but it 100% makes a sound. A compressional wave will be induced, which by deffinition is acoustic.
  20. What is time............. that's a fecking head wreck! T, there's no reason to believe that time doesn't exist outside of our observable part of the universe. It's a real part of physics but also the very most fundamental part of physics. You've asked the question "if a branch falls in a wood but no one hears it does it make a sound?" yes of course it does. Likewise time is still prevalent in our absence.
  21. I am speaking from the viewpoint of the man in the street. I am just asking question to try and understand a little. An expanding universe if it is as you state like a ballon being blown up till it burst. Does it have a catalist for the expansion the same as a ballon has air injected to cause it to expand? Why does the universe have to have a start and an end? I have read of the birth of stars and the death of stars. Surly because we are just human and are constrained by our notions of our time scale. Whats to say that time is just non existant, and just a scale that we as humans measure
  22. That calm just before a thunder storm, the whole atmosphere is filled with anticipation. The very rare occassion when I look up at a perfect night sky. Awe inspiring feeling. Sitting on the rocks on the south west coast at night with the waves crashing and a warm sea breeze with a vague noise and dim light of the harbour and town near by.
  23. Is that "rake" ?? No he's not wearing lycra. Do you by chance no anything about dark matter, the geeks seem to be avoiding the question. More gifted chaps than myself calculated the mass of galaxies based on angular momentum and then compared that to what they could actually see in that galaxy. There was a huge difference! They should have been able to see a lot more than what they could. So where is all this mass that should be there......... well it's dark so we can't see it......... And that's about all we know about dark matter and the even more mysterious dark energy. I
