  1. There are big gaps between solar systems.... Voyager 2s original mission, ended years ago. They then decided to fire it off into interstellar space, out of our solar system where it will complete it's 'bonus' mission of taking the first direct measurements of the density and temperature of space. These measurements will help with our understanding of cosmology. There is no mission that involves anything to do with travelling to other stars to take measurements. If you're so concerned about wasted money maybe we should introduce a law whereby any money people have for recreation should be f
  2. Fraz, what the f**k are you on about? Neither Voyager 1 or 2 have measured f**k all to do with other stars and neither are they going to! You haven't the foggiest what you are talking about.
  3. Well done! Ain't rocket science is it. What set did you go with? Tunnels or those boxes? I assume not snare poles....
  4. With mk6 Fenns already in the shed I don't think I'd be shelling out £50+ a time for Kanias. They might be the dogs but can you really justify it for the given situation? Keepers and Rangers up and down the country kill thousands of squirrels every year with Fenns. It's my opinion the mk4 may be a little under gunned at times but the mk6 set correctly is humane. I find being a bit intelligent with the tunnel, to guide the target onto the plate just right, makes the Fenn a very humane killer. JMO
  5. The 'let's keep our heads down' ship sailed when we invented radio! And again, voyagers are not looking for alien life. Their final mission is to take the first experimental measurements beyond our solar system. Shortly after that they're dead in the water and will just sail around the galaxy until their destruction.
  6. Pure scientific research, research for the sake of advancing our knowledge with no known application, is essential to science. It is the core of science and all technology. The average Joe on the street continuously rubbishes such projects as a waste of money and claim that all research should be applied, with the ultimate goal of a technological advanced product. Ask any researcher and they'll tell you how short sighted that view is! Pure research is the foundation of science and should never be sacrificed!
  7. Thank f**k our ancestors didn't take that view, they'd never have left the cave.
  8. The mission of neither voyager 1 or 2 is to take measurements of others stars. Contrary to fraz rubbishing.
  9. Lol, no billions have been invested in the current mission of voyager.
  10. Biglurks, you might be talking about secondary drowning. The fluid builds up in the lungs and you literally drown slowly from Pulmonary Edema. I think it's usually from more serious drowning cases though.
  11. Ratbuster, pistols are legal in the UK for humane dispatch. Police attitudes towards them differ hugely from force to force. For instance some make it a nightmare to get a simple 410 or 22 single shot pistol while others will grant military and law enforcement type pistols. Even the topic of humane dispatch is not consistent, some forces will not allow rifles to be used but will allow pistols whereas others would prefer rifles to be used. It's a good example of how regionally dependant our firearms laws are.
  12. Pablo Esc, I've seen foxes rear out of drains etc. If they're seeing off a steady terrier they will just gradually rear out in my experience. I've pulled foxes out by hand in that situation, I'm sure many folks have.
  13. Always surprises me how many Gundogs either struggle with swimming or flat out wont. I'm sure she'll come on though. ...and happy birthday.
  14. Absolutely bang on. Very professional and a great representation of legitimate terrier work.
  15. Yeah, I understood that mate. lol. I was just commenting that although he was culled because his head gear showed he wasn't a prime animal, imo his head gear is still pleasing aesthetically. But I have a mild obsession with antlers and hides. LOL
  16. That's a lovely buck. Might not have the desired palmate antlers but they're a rich tone. Nice read that.
  17. I used to ferret a shoot exactly there. LOL. Always used to be good numbers of rabbits. That railway line was a hotbed!
  18. I have no problem with the police wanting to keep the gun community shipshape and on form for basic gun safety reasons. I'd actually support more frequent check-ups and even a compulsory national gun handling/safety course. But to treat us like a potential aid to terrorism is insulting. There are very few weapons in civilian hands in the UK that I would deem useful for acts of terrorism. Terrorists don't need to steal civilian guns, they just buy a f***ing Uzi sourced from some Eastern European shithole on the black market. It's just more of the "it's a privilege to own guns, not a rig
  19. What's the big deal?....... The insinuation that the legitimate and legal gun community of the UK are some sort of threat to our national security!!!!!! That's the big deal. It's just another reason to make the anti gun lobby shout about why we shouldn't have the right to own and use firearms.
  20. I may be able to tell you in due course. I have been invited to attend a Firearms Community Safeguarding Briefing held by the Police Preventing Terrorism Team, this is due to ........the threat level from international terrorism in the UK has recently risen to severe in response to developments in Syria and Iraq. I think that will be an interesting briefing! Do me a favour then, ask the A-Team how many international terrorists they have seen running about with a pair of purdeys. LOL But seriously, be interested to know the outcome of that meeting.
  21. Of course the strong presence of eastern Europeans with access to all the left over soviet weapons are not a concern, it's legal gun owners with massively restricted firearms that are the threat... I'd be very interested to know what information the home office has based this on.
  22. Dice it up (fresh hare, none of this hung for a week with the guts in shite), pan fry, mix with instant noodles and top with HP sauce! That stuff fills a hole!
  23. Yep, agree with all that. Regards the hunting act, nothing will happen without a pro hunting majority and that is most likely to come from a right of centre political coalition/majority government, so as things stand, Cons/UKIP. However, in the aftermath of the Scottish Indy referendum we have this English Assembly/Parliament idea being shouted about. To me that's another opportunity for hunting act repeal, as their is far more likely to be a pro hunting majority in such a political establishment than in Westminster due to the Scots Labour influence.
  24. There's a long way to go until UKIP will be in a position to honour their promises. I really do think that in the GE we'll see a Conservative/UKIP coalition......... though that's perhaps more a hope than a prediction. I can't see UKIP going from zero MPs to a majority government in such a short time, I just don't think the staunch Conservative/labour voters will change attitudes quickly enough even if they were tempted to. But at the same time I am a little terrified of Labour getting back in. A Conservative/UKIP coalition is the best I dare hope for. I also reckon that in such a coalitio
