Fcuking hell Born, you're hard work!! Haha....... I'm not so saying you haven't got an open mind in general, but in this subject you've always come across as though you are sure it's bollocks, which fine, that's just how I've read you.......I apologise for getting that wrong! :-) On the subject of pics of Ardennes lynx, that's not my assumption either, I never concluded there is no photographic evidence, just making a point that most people would never know either way...... .....However I think I may of found a french language book about Ardennes Lynx on line, I'll try to get a pic of the

If you applied the same principles of science or law to judging that photo you would be hard pressed to find either community judge it as proof mate. If it was from S.Africa or Botswana etc then it would make it very plausible but even then it's not strong enough at all to make it a fact that it's of big cat. It'd be torn to bits under peer review or in a court and that's the standard we demand of other science and so is the standard we need to hold this stuff to.

Accip. Why is it that I'm not open minded? I'm an employed professional in the field of science. I haven't got a horse in this race other than that of truth. If you think I'm opposed to evidence of big cats, you're wrong. I'm opposed to people drawing conclusions from weak evidence. Which is all I've ever seen on this sort of stuff. I have no idea if there are or are not photos of Ardennes Lynx. I didn't pose the question because I knew the answer would support my opinion that there are no wild lynx in the UK. It's a logical question that someone looking for the truth would ask. I haven't

I know of folks who used to work in disposal of zoo animals, I also know of other folks who have falsified evidence of big cats for the laugh. Do not doubt the potential for seemingly air tight evidence to be bullshit! I think it's well established that Lynx have escaped and had a spell of running wild, even very recently. I don't think it's established there is a self sustaining wild population.

So I guess if no one has got a decent picture of one then it would support arguments as to why the same hasn't happened in the UK.......... so does anyone have a decent pic of an Ardennes Lynx? That dead one Greyman put up was a pretty clear picture of a lynx I thought A picture of one dead lynx is hardly proof they're running wild. There's the issue of credibility and context, no? You used the Ardennes as an example of how easily they are hidden and so how easily they could hide in the UK. That's a fair enough statement and it would be validated by the answer to mine. It's known

That's sounds like the Canadian Lynx. Eurasian Lynx can be double that! Still doubt they'd be killing adults. I wouldn't be too comfortable letting one knock about children though... Double? Yes. https://wildcatconservation.org/wild-cats/eurasia/eurasian-lynx/ In Siberia the Eurasian Lynx can apparently reach over 90lbs!!!

He'll get photos of the b@stards in the wild soon enough when they reintroduce the lynx, another apex predator for our wildlife to contend with, all the ground nesting birds hare rabbits etc. The capercaillie will go the way of the dodo. I've been up close to one of these f@ckers in palacerigg country park back in the 1980s it was lying in its enclosure and then one of the keeper came round and started the feeding routine the c@nt got up big leggy thing with a head like a 30 bob cabbage, more than capable of killing a person in my opinion.they say they stand 1.3m tall thats about 51" ffs. One of these, a Mora with a 5.8" blade. https://www.bushwear.co.uk/stalking-hunting-shooting/knives-sharpeners/knives/mora-748-sheath-knife-314717.html If I ever fancy something a bit more fancy again I'll buy one of these again, the Karesuandokniven Boar. http://moonrakerknives.co.uk/karesuandokniven.html Basically because I really get on with the Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel!

10 million at your age & single........oh my god! I'd take that in a heart beat.....haha Exactly, it's a no brainer. Live the next 40-50 years with virtually no limits or add 10 years to that and continue plodding limited by the bank balance.
-
10 million! I can't make anything like that kind of money and it would make the rest of my life brilliant! Giving me another ten years is great but I'm still f***ing hard up. LOl
-
Me too! Did you buy an Akubra? LOL, no but I do want one actually. Look so much less 'fashionable' than those aussie bush hats everyone wears.
-
Yeah. Interesting enough to motivate me to look into the species.

Sounds like the plot of a Willem Dafoe film. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunter_(2011_Australian_film) Shit film I thought.

And just for clarity, yes they actually charge VAT on the price that includes the duty! So they are taxing you for paying tax!
-
Stumfelter I don't think Wilf is saying he pays over 50% income tax. He's saying over 50% of his annual earnings ends up as tax revenue. He might still be wrong but that's how I am understanding it. Take for instance when you buy fuel. At £1.20 a litre, like it is at the moment, 58p of that is duty and 20p of that is VAT. Bought with money you have already been taxed on at least once!

I don't think it's having nukes that is the line that can't be crossed but how you behave when you have that capability. Right now he's behaving like a 17 yr old council estate thug who just found his dads gun! I don't doubt for a moment that the Chinese aren't watching how this plays out to test how far they might be able to push things. If I recall the first operational deployment of HMS QE will be to the South China Sea for exactly that reason. At the back of everyone's minds is the need to show a willingness to keep China from taking control of the region. None of this is fair or w

I think we have become a bit soured by the last 20 years of interventions in the ME. Facts are that this regime is firing ballistic missiles over another state while developing thermonuclear weapons and telling anyone that might upset them that they'll use this capability quite willingly. That's not an acceptable way to conduct business in the modern day with or without being signatory to a treaty. There's nothing to be gained from any of this but there is plenty to be lost. Stability in the East is at risk from this crackpot and taking an isolationist approach only encourages more of it.

My Hunting Set Up For This Year...pic Heavy Warning
Born Hunter replied to Ted Newgent's topic in Big Game Hunting
Nice pics! What's you attitude when it comes to choosing an animal to kill? Do you prefer to kill a mature animal that has had his life and also is considered a better trophy or do you want a younger animal that is better for the table? -
If you don't pay tax the NHS is free, you can't get a smaller percentage than that! And you won't get many folks who don't pay tax discussing the merits of libertarianism! LOL
-
Small percentage!? The NHS is one of the largest parts of the budget. Without it we could virtually do away with income tax. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_2017_United_Kingdom_budget

The problem with beef is everyone seems to want to massacre it! Rare and fleshy please! I tend to choose the ham tbh. Salty and hearty! Lamb is a beautiful meat but I'd rather have it with mash and peas, maybe roasted root veg but not generally as a proper roast dinner. A bird in a bird is spot on for a roast too. Now stuffing is an essential!

£16.50 for a two course carvery at my local and it's delicious!

And likewise. I tried to word that post carefully as I really didn't want to offend you with a misunderstanding. I think I understand a little your feelings on the matter. I value your input and truth be told I think some of your early ramblings on this site on liberty influenced me to look into it.

Personally I think most people don't have a problem with contributing to a government if it's fair and they can see value for money. But I'm sorry, 61/2 months of your labour every year to make your life worse is madness any way you cut it. I have a simple way of looking at things, if a builder came to your house every five years and relieved you of 2.5 years wages and then f****d the whole job up.......came back after another 5 years, and did the same again for the rest of your life you would rightly be considered a f***ing idiot for keep employing the builder and keep giving him half yo
