I'm so sorry to read this - what a shock for you For some people, the right thing is to wait, for others it's to get another dog straight away. What do you want to do? Could you consider another breed, or perhaps getting a bitch, then perhaps you won't make so many comparisons. I've had generations of the same breed, coming down from 2 sides of the family. I tend to keep a male from a very special female and vice versa, to reduce the likelihood of comparisons. Another breed is a good option,I get the best part of December off work so i think i will start putting some feelers out.Ma

I awoke Tuesday morning to the shocking discovery of my 8 year old spaniel Jabba dead in his bed, it later unfolded he had suffered a heart attack in his sleep.He was in my opinion a one off dog,so easy to train,a great family pet in the house and a good worker in the field. My dilemma is,do I find a replacement now knowing I will always be comparing him to Jabba,or wait a few months and see how I feel? Any advice would be appreciated.

Shooting feral pigeons off a barn roof I asked my mate if he wanted me to shoot at a standing or flying one,flying one was his answer so I told him to clap his hands after 3, when he clapped the birds took off and I followed one and fired,down he came wings tucked in,dead as a doornail .On another note I missed a squirrel from about 10 yards
